produced by nelke planning (who also produced things like haisute, esute, tourabu, etc. etc.), idol stage - known as dorste or dolste for short - is a series of original stage plays based on the concept of idols! very original name, i'm sure you'll agree.

each show comprises of two parts: STAGE x LIVE. the stage part shows the backstage of the idols: how they came to be, the drama and tea, and the inevitable power of friendship. the live part is the idols performing a concert for the audience, so you get that feeling of seeing how far the boys have come 🙌

idol stage also has an interesting concept they call Another World (AW). it's a kind of inside joke/unspoken secret that the idols aren't played by any actors: they're just everyday people that look scarily similar to the irl actors. the actors refer to the characters as their 'friends', and all have varying degrees of closeness that can be pretty entertaining to see. it gets a little tricky in the 3rd and 4th generations (since the idols are played by actors played by actors) but it's not too hard to get the hang of!

HANG ON A SECOND! rhian, you said that idol stage is perfect for mankai stage fans! what the heck does esute have to do with this?

WELL WELL WELL HERE WE HAVE COME TO THE REASON THIS POST WAS MADE.

as i said, nelke planning produced both dolste and esute. if you do a little deep dive into twitter accounts, you can see that the scriptwriter for esute... is ALSO the director of dolste!

as a result, we have a good deal of esute actors in dolste (...or more like the other way around. dolste is old ♡). akazawa tomoru, honda reo, furuya yamato, and especially akigumi: akazawa ryotaro, yoshitaka shion and nakamura taro appear in Un-Planet and Primoon! (ryotaro and shion are main characters of their units, while taro is a guest in a few Un-Planet shows and a fan of CHaCK-UP ^o^)

dolstedia is also a fantastic place to read character and unit profiles. it's a fanmade wikipedia and you'll have to use a translator if you can't read japanese, but it's amazing :D

I used the live rip audio since the CD version doesn't include the long "circus act" breaks. I had to edit a bit to make sure the singing parts synced up (also the video was like 30 seconds longer than the audio for…some reason? Not sure why).

ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical a new live 2.5D Musical entertainment based on the wildly popular manga (comic book) by Hajime Isayama and published by Kodansha, will play New York City Center (131 W. 55th Street) from October 11-13, 2024. Directed by breakdance world champion Go Ueki (HYPNOSISMIC -Division Rap Battle- Rule the Stage), ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical had its world premiere in Osaka and Tokyo in January, 2023 to great success. The New York City Center engagement marks the musical’s first international performance.

ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical has book by Masafumi Hata, music supervision by KEN THE 390, and lyrics by Kaori Miura, and combines conventional musical theatre techniques with state-of-the-art technology, performed by a cast of 35.

A century ago, the grotesque giants known as Titans appeared and consumed all but the last remnants of humanity. The survivors took refuge behind giant walls. Today, the threat of the Titans is a distant memory, and a boy named Eren Yeager yearns to explore the world beyond his current circumstances. Doing another cover for Mamoru's birthday! I was originally planning to cover one of the newer songs like "Sanjou!! Tuxedo Kamen" or "When Destiny Calls," but clips of them are pretty hard to find. Thankfully when scrolling through old Myu Corner posts I found this song, "Tuxedo Versus," which debuted in Black Lady. Kenji Urai originated it, but I really like Shirota Yuu (I kinda have a crush on him haha) so I decided to do his version instead from Mugen Gakuen Kaiteiban (his debut myu).

Also this is the first time I recorded not using a karaoke track, either an existing one or one I made using Audacity. I tried recording with just the track on a whim, and it helped so much with timing that I decided to keep it intact and just lower the volume so my voice stood out more. It might be because it was a live rip track (taken from SeraMyu Antics's live rips of Mugen K songs); this might not work with songs that are not live.

I also am still experimenting with CapCut effects and using CapCut to create a proper title card!

"Shuuyaku no Isu wa Ore no Isu", also known as OreIsu, is a 2.5D musical and stage play audition programme by Nelke Planning where participants compete for the prize of getting the lead role in a musical or stage play. For the second season, Nelke Planning has collaborated with King Records, and five winners will be selected to form a 2.5D actor unit that will be involved in mix media projects.

The finale episode will begin streaming on Abema TV at 21.00 (Japan time) on December 15, 2022, and Sato Ryuji, Someya Toshiyuki and Miura Kairi (who was the winner in Season 01 of "Shuuyaku no Isu wa Ore no Isu") have been invited to be the guests for this episode.
