Disaster Twins Separated AU (now called Our Other Halves)

Gasp! I have done it. I have put enough of my sanity into the concept to feel confident in posting this (it has only been a little over a week and this has already started to have a hold on the creative part of my brain). I am sure someone else has thought of something similar, but this is my take on this kind of au.

Here is some beginning stage concept art for Leo and Donnie:

So there are some modified features, and yes I know, Leo does indeed have eyebrows, the horror, I know. But when I had the idea to do that I couldn't stop laughing to myself. (aaannddd possibly some other things with Leo's design [and something with Donnie's], but that's spoilers).

There may be somethings I further modify, but that'll be later.

I'll work on Raph, Mikey, and April's designs later this month. (I'm a little too busy to work on any other projects atm).

So here are the key features of this separated au under the cut (because this is kind of long):

These ideas are not in order whatsoever. This is just how my brain spouted these out. Also please keep in mind that I just came up with this, and some things may change in little or drastic ways later on. (Some of these things are a little outdated now)

Donatello and Leonardo were the only turtles who were able to be saved by Master Splinter when Draxum's lab exploded.

Poor Splinter, he is so stressed and depressed.

Raphael and Michelangelo were raised by Big Mama. They are both raised to be fighters in the Battle Nexus and to be their Mama's "little gentleman." The relationship between them and Big Mama is... iffy. More on this later.

I think that Leo and Donatello are definitely closer in this au and would have been more attached to April. So not only is there disaster twins but a disaster trio.

Donatello is the oldest twin in this au and also the most protective and defensive sibling, especially when Raph and Mikey come into the picture.

This doesn't mean Leo is not as protective or as caring of Don. He cares a lot about his twin brother, and will defend his brother and his honor to the death, but when [REDACTED] occurred, Don became extremely protective of Leo. Leo does not mind this, as [REDACTED] left a huge impact on him (as it did for Don as well, but he does his best to hide that [Leo knows though]).

While they are caring and everything, they are also twin brothers who love to mess with each other and compete with one another.

Leo is still the face guy and the family medic, but because it was just him and Don, he took more of an interest in his brother's science projects. He has more understanding of different science concepts than Rise! Leo, but it is still nowhere near Donatello's level of understanding. Donnie has a place in his lab for Leo to tinker with random and often silly projects. They also work on new gadgets and gizmos together. The two often infodump to each other and to April.

They are the biggest Jupiter Jim Fans you will ever meet. They may or may not have pulled a few strings and made a few gadgets in JJ's honor.

Raph and Mikey are not willing at first to leave Big Mama to go with Leo and Don, and they have a hard time accepting that they are related to these twins who cause so much chaos whenever they're around. They also distrust most humans (Lou Jitsu being the main exception), so the fact that Leo and Don have a human friend (who is basically a sister to them) does not help. All four brothers start to want the other two sibling to join them after while though... After some events.

Leo and Don want Raph and Mikey to come back to the family, though each struggles with their own intrusive thoughts of how it would change things. The same sort of things start to occur for Raph and Mikey. More on this later.

Donatello is technically the leader. While I think that he would be a great leader to full-time lead both Leo and April, I also believe that Don would co-lead with Leo. They would talk about each other's ideas, discuss, argue, and come up with solutions together. I'll have more on this particular topic later when I contemplate this more. (And binge watch the series again for research.)

When the four brothers are finally reunited, Donnie is still the *technical* leader, and he does his best to understand what his long lost brothers had gone through. (Yes, Don has a harder time than Leo at processing other's complex emotions, but that does not mean he cannot understand them! It just takes a longer time for him to process and find the proper response to assist his bros.)

So that's basically all the stuff I feel I need to share to start this off! Of course this isn't everything and I definitely need to delve deeper into some of my ideas, but some of the things I would like to share would be major spoilers for some of the thing I've changed or added (which is why some things are redacted). I realize I haven't really mentioned Draxum, but he's there... OH BOY IS HE THERE. There is also 2 characters from the show that will be in this au off an on that I want to mention but that's spoilers. :)

There are also some silly little things I have ideas for that I may share later next week, but this is already a lot of information. (Thank you for reading this far.)

One thing I would like to mention is that a lot of the twin aspects of Leo and Don are inspired by a pair of twins in my own family.

I am so excited to dive into this some more! I fully intend on making a comic of this au, it just may take a bit of time to write out a general out line for the comic because of my responsibilities and the need for sleep.

There is one thing I'm not sure on right now, and that's a name for this AU. I have something temporary, but I don't know how I feel about it.

Oh I knew they’d switched drink sponsors but I didn’t realize biosteel had gone out of business. I don’t think this was necessarily NHL mismanagement though, they take sponsorships and if a business folds that’s sort of beyond their nexus of control, you know? I don’t think it will impact the cap at all tbh it’s not like they are down a major sponsor entirely.

The Color Red In A World Full Of Black & White: Remembering Bray Wyatt

One year ago today , the wrestling business paused once again to remember one of their own. The day after the death of Terry Funk , came the death of Bray Wyatt. This article is going to celebrate the life and career of Bray Wyatt and how he has impacted professional wrestling.

Windham Lawrence Rotunda was born to Stephanie and Mike Rotunda on May 23,1987 in Brooksville, Florida. He was the oldest of the three children , a younger brother , Taylor , and a younger sister , Mika. He was an amateur wrestler in high school and won the state championship in 2005, the year he graduated. He also played football as a defensive tackle and a guard in junior college. He earned a football scholarship from Troy University and played football there for two years. During his time there , he decided to join the family business and become a professional wrestler.

Windham was a third-generation wrestler. His grandfather was BlackJack Mulligan , his uncles are Kendall and Barry Windham. Therefore , his father is ‘ Mr.IRS ’ Mike Rotunda. He was trained by his uncle Barry before being signed to WWE in 2009 and making his debut in a dark match on an episode of Florida Championship Wrestling ( FCW ) , in February of the same year. FCW is now known as NXT. In June of the same year , he would go on to win the FCW Tag Team Championships alongside his brother , who was known as Bo Rotundo. He would be known as either Alex Rotundo or Duke Rotundo during this time.

In June of 2010, Windham would take the name , Husky Harris , and join the Inaugural season of WWE NXT. He was a Rookie and would be paired with Cody Rhodes as his Pro. Cody is the son of ‘ The American Dream ’ , Dusty Rhodes. He would be eliminated from the competition on the August 17 episode of NXT. He kept the Husky Harris name as continued to work in FCW. In October of the same years, he would join Wade Barrett’s Nexus faction. They would torment the main roster, especially John Cena. He would also be in the group under the rule of CM Punk. Thus, he would be taken off WWE TV and repackaged into the gimmick he would be well known for after being kicked in the head by Randy Orton. He would make his return to FCW in 2011 under the name Axl Mulligan, thus , this character never made it to TV. He would still be known as Husky Harris.

When WWE made the decision to rebrand FCW into what is now known as NXT in 2012 , Windham Rotunda became known as Bray Wyatt. He would make his NXT debut on the July 11, 2012 episode. Originally, he had a wrestler named Eli Cottonwood as his tag team partner. This pairing happened in FCW. After suffering an injury to his pectoral muscle and having surgery to repair it , Wyatt remained on NXT TV, cutting promos and forming a faction , came to be known as The Wyatt Family . The faction consisted of him , Luke Harper , and Erick Rowan. Wyatt returned to the ring in 2013 and defeated Yoshi Tatsu. Therefore , he suffered his first loss in NXT when he was defeated by his brother, Bo Dallas. His second loss was to Chris Jericho. Harper and Rowan would become NXT Tag Team Champions on the May 2 episode of NXT. On May 27,2013 , WWE began airing vignettes of the faction on Monday Night RAW , teasing their debut on the main roster.

On July 8,2013 , Bray along with Luke and Rowan , made their WWE main roster debut on Monday Night RAW. Their first victim would be Kane. Thus, they attacked other wrestlers such as 3MB and R-Truth to send messages to the Kane and telling him to , “ Follow The Buzzards ” . Wyatt was challenged to a Ring of Fire match by Kane at Summerslam the same year. Wyatt won the match with the help of Harper and Rowan. They soon targeted Kofi Kingston , with Wyatt having a match with him at Battleground and winning. Wyatt would go on to have major storylines with John Cena and Daniel Bryan ( Bryan Danielson ) during the later part of 2013 and into 2014. Cena would defeat Wyatt at Wrestlemania 30. This would be his first major loss while being on the main roster . The Wyatt Family would also go on to attack Chris Jericho, who was returning to the WWE from being on tour with his band , Fozzy. This storyline ended in a Steel Cage match on the September 8,2014 episode of RAW. Wyatt won the match by escaping from the cage.

Soon, Bray Wyatt would be involved with another major WWE Superstar after his rivalry with Dean Ambrose. During this rivalry, he would offer to help Ambrose as he did to Harper and Rowan, whom he set free. Their rivalry would end in an Ambulance match , which Wyatt would come out on top. Thus , Wyatt would be calling himself , ‘ The New Face Of Fear ’. At the WWE Fastlane Pay-Per-View , he would appear from a casket and call out The Undertaker, challenging him to a match at Wrestlemania 31. However, he would be defeated by The Phenom. The Wyatt Family would soon make their return as a faction in 2015. Wyatt would soon introduce a new member of the family the same year , Braun Strowman. Wyatt and Harper would soon find themselves in a match against the Brothers of Destruction at Survivor Series of the same year.

Wyatt would have a rivalry with Randy Orton in 2016. They would have two matches , one at Backlash and one at No Mercy. Thus, Randy joined The Wyatt Family after helping Wyatt in his match against Kane. Wyatt and Orton would be the only surviving team members for Team Smackdown at Survivor Series. This would occur after Orton saved Wyatt from taking a spear from Roman Reigns. They would go on to win the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. In 2017 , Randy turned his back on Wyatt and went after the WWE Championship. He would be shown destroying the Wyatt Family compound and Sister Abigail’s grave. At Wrestlemania 33, Wyatt would lose the WWE Championship to Orton. He would go on to form a tag team with Matt Hardy. They were known as The Deleter of Worlds.

In 2019, Wyatt would be repackaged as a Mr.Rogers type character. Fans would start seeing vignettes on WWE programming consisting of different toys such as a puppet of a buzzard and a doll that looked like a witch. Bray would appear in the vignettes of a what looked like a children’s show. This would be called ‘ The Firefly Funhouse ’ . Wyatt would also have a new look as well. He would have a shorter beard and a leaner body. During the segments , he would also use a puppet of Vince McMahon. He would also debut a new gimmick , The Fiend. Nevertheless, he would gain a manager in this role. His manager and co-host of Firefly Fun House would be Alexa Bliss. The two would be drafted to RAW in 2020 after being on Smackdown in 2019. In 2021 , Bliss would turn on The Fiend and say that she didn’t need him . Wyatt would be released in July of 2021.

In September of 2022, an acapella the song , ‘ White Rabbit ’ by Jefferson Airplane would be played at WWE Live Events and TV programming. QR codes would also be shown on both RAW and Smackdown. Everything involved during the eerie segments would lead to teasing the return of Bray Wyatt. At Extreme Rules , Wyatt would make his return to the company . At the end of the PLE, the lights on the arena would dim and a door would be seen. Wyatt would soon enter the arena from the door with a lantern and real life versions of his Fire Fly Funhouse characters. He would reveal himself as the White Rabbit. A new masked character , Uncle Howdy , would be debuted during his return as well. The light in the door that he came out of would be a tribute to fallen Wyatt Family member , Luke Harper ( Brodie Lee ) , who would pass away in 2020.

Bray Wyatt‘s last main roster storylines would be with LA Knight and Bobby Lashley. Wyatt and Knight would have a Pitch Black match at the 2023 Royal Rumble , with Wyatt being victorious. He would start a feud with Bobby Lashley going to Wrestlemania 39 , however , it was scrapped due to Wyatt being out of action with an illness. He was set to return to the ring on August 19th, 2023. Thus, his return would never happen.

Bray Wyatt tragically passed at the age of 36 on August 24, 2023 from a heart attack due to the COVID-19 virus. He left behind a fiancé , JoJo, and four children. He left behind a family who loved him as well as his fans and colleagues. WWE COO , Paul ‘ Triple H ’ Levesque , would announce his death on the social media platform , X ( Twitter), after getting a phone call from Mike Rotunda informing him of his son’s death. On the August 25, 2023 episode of Friday Night Smackdown , WWE would pay tribute to him alongside Terry Funk. The rocking chair Wyatt used would be placed in the middle of the ramp as the WWE Universe would use their cell phone flashlights as fireflies and sing , ‘ He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands’ . The show would end with LA Knight and Finn Balór main eventing . Knight being his last opponent and Balór being his first opponent under The Fiend gimmick. Wyatt would be signed to a WWE Legends contract and any merchandise sales would go to his children. In a video on YouTube , wrestlers such as Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, Adam Pearce , Bayley , etc would pay tribute to their friend and say how he has impacted them. Other promotions such as AEW and TNA would pay tribute to Wyatt. In April of 2024 , a documentary about Wyatt would be released. On April 5, Wyatt’s father and uncle would be inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame as the tag team , the US Express . They would be inducted with Bray’s ‘ fireflies ’ and his entrance music. Jey Uso would also use the fireflies as his tribute to Wyatt in his entrance . In June of 2024 , as a tribute to his brother , Taylor revived the Uncle Howdy character and formed the Wyatt Sicks alongside Erick Rowan , Dexter Lumis , Nikki Cross , and Joe Gacy. Uncle Howdy will be making his in ring debut on the August 26 episode of Monday Night Raw against Chad Gable.

My Final Thoughts:

Bray Wyatt is a once in a lifetime wrestler. Yes , I’ll admit that he did scare me when I first saw him , however, I became a fan. He made it worth watching . From his in ring work to the Firefly Fun House , he was one of the most creative people I’ve ever seen. Windham , I just wanted to say thank you on behalf everyone who loves you . You would be so proud of Taylor and what he has accomplished with The Wyatt Sicks. I know you will be in the arena with him Monday. We love you and we miss you ! Sending love to the Rotunda family today! I wanted to pay tribute to Windham in my own way, by writing this article.

Thailand's Constitutional Court on Wednesday ordered the dissolution of the popular anti-establishment opposition party, Move Forward, over its controversial campaign to amend a law that protects the powerful monarchy from criticism.

The disbandment of the 2023 election winner is the latest setback for Thailand's major political parties, which remain embroiled in a tumultuous two-decade battle for power with an influential nexus of conservatives, old money families and royalist generals.

The decision comes six months after the same court ordered Move Forward to drop its plan to reform a law on royal insults, ruling it was unconstitutional and risked undermining Thailand's system of governance with the king as head of state. Move Forward denies that.

Though the dissolution is likely to anger millions of young and urban voters who backed Move Forward and its progressive agenda, the impact of the ruling is expected to be limited, with only the party's 11 current and former executives banned from politics for 10 years.

That means 143 of its lawmakers will keep their seats and are expected to reorganise under a new party, as they did in 2020, when predecessor Future Forward was disbanded over a campaign funding violation.

If all join the same party, it would be the biggest in parliament and would be expected to continue a progressive agenda that includes military reform and undoing big business monopolies, among the policies that saw its rivals coalesce to block it from forming a government last year.

The decision comes at critical juncture in Thai politics, with cracks appearing also in an uneasy truce between the royalist establishment and another longtime rival, the populist ruling party, Pheu Thai.

The Constitutional Court will next week decide on a case brought by 40 conservative former senators seeking to dismiss Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin over his appointment to cabinet of a lawyer who served time in jail. He denies wrongdoing and says the appointment was above board.

Tycoon Srettha's case is among factors that have heightened political uncertainty and roiled financial markets, with the prospect of political upheaval if he is removed.

A new premier would need to be voted on by parliament, potentially pitting Pheu Thai against coalition partners and leading to a shakeup of the governing alliance and realignment of cabinet and policies.

I’ve asked this question before but I am, once again, curious, I know I asked why you loved heather but now I’m curious as to why you pair heather with Eddie? I love it of course but I must understand the nexus lmao

Let me start this off by stating Cruel Summer was written to be a Hellguard (Eddie x Heather, Heddie) fic and I have an unfinished WIP I titled Missing You for them which I’ll include under the cut, but the explanation:

When it comes down to it, it was just my love for both characters. After ST4 dropped, I rewatched ST3 (my favorite season) and it just reignited my love for Heather. I can go on and on about how it breaks my heart that her death didn’t leave a major impact on the town because she was just a normal girl, not super popular, and it kind of made her the easiest character to self insert with. (It infuriates me that she was paid dust by the fandom because she had a surprisingly large role in ST3 compared to other characters in seasons, like for some reason Carol gets more claim than Heather).

But I remember watching the scene of her telling that kid off and thinking “This girl is mouthy to punks.” Which led to me thinking about Eddie who hands shit out left and right (the famous cafeteria scene) and I started thinking about possible interactions they could have had. Then I started wondering if they ever interacted at all. Did they get along? Did they annoy each other? Ever have a class together? Then I thought, what if feelings were involved?

The thought quickly snowballed, and coupled with my belief that Heather deserved better and deserved to be saved, I came up with Cruel Summer, in which Eddie was going to save Heather. This was of course when most of the fandom was looney about who to pair Eddie with and I didn’t want people to hate Heather strictly because she’d be paired with Eddie, as she has a lot of potential and deserves to be loved, so I changed it into a Reader insert instead but one can tell who Reader was kind of meant to be.

I have an unfinished WIP, one of the first things I wrote when I started writing for Eddie in July of last year, about Eddie reflecting on his unsaid feelings for a now deceased Heather right before his final—and fatal—senior year. A lot of Angst, pretty much him being depressed, grieving in his ways and thinking about The Girl he thought he was going to get. It would have been a slow burn that never got to ignite and Eddie was bitter that people could move on so easily, like she hadn’t mattered. And here is that unfinished WIP: 

“Fuck,” Eddie croaked out, eyes watering as he shuddered with violent coughs, his lungs trying desperately to rid themselves of the smoke he’d inhaled. He hadn’t waited long enough between pulls from the joint, hadn't cared to. Not when he was desperate to feel good. To feel anything other than the stupid fucking anguish that was following him around.

It hadn’t always been, though. Sure, his life wasn’t perfect. His mom was dead, his dad was in prison, and his uncle took up more shifts than he could handle just to make sure Eddie had a tin roof over his head. When he’d seen how worn down Wayne was getting, he’d taken up his own little side business; dealing drugs for a dude who looked like he jumped straight out of a bad porno with that mustache. 

Truth be told, Eddie was pretty sure he wouldn’t amount to much. His only concern was not turning into his father, which would be easy enough. All he had to do was stay out of jail. Of course, with a mindset like that, he hadn’t developed motivation for much else. 

He had his interests. Dungeons and Dragons, Corroded Coffin, weed, metal and the works but academics was not one of them. Hence why he’d be starting his third senior year in just a couple of days. Ironically, that wasn’t the reason why he was currently cooped up in his van, parked near the lake and hotboxing his sorrows away. No, that honor belonged to the permed curly headed, annoying, know-it-all, big mouth commonly known as Heather Holloway. Eddie winced, eyes squeezing shut to stop the rush of moisture from escaping. Formerly known. He shook his head, mouth curling into a bitter grin as he rubbed his fingers into his eyelids in an attempt to physically force the tears away, force the memories down, but it didn’t work. Hawkins was small. Everyone knew everyone, so of course he knew of Heather Holloway’s existence. It would’ve been difficult not to because she was constantly reminding everyone. Eddie didn’t know exactly when they had become enemies, he kind of grouped her in with everyone else who had a problem with him. Unfair of him, but given his social track record, he usually assumed the worst from certain people and she happened to hang around the worst people.

It didn’t help that she was really annoying. Super fucking nosey, always trying to tell him what to do—okay, yeah, sure it was because they’d been partnered up various amounts of times for assignments and projects but she made him feel stupid every single time so why would he have listened to her?—and she had this air about her, held herself like she was better than everyone else. It really irked Eddie because she wasn’t even popular. Hell, she was all but a social pariah because of how annoying she was, normally sat at a table with Jonathan Byers, Samantha Stone (who definitely scared Eddie), Stacy Soto, Fred Benson and the other social rejects, excluding Nancy Wheeler who sat there to be with her boyfriend. He was pretty sure everyone at the table weren’t even really friends, just acquaintances and that was pretty pathetic. Eddie knew he’d be there, too, had it not been for the Hellfire table. He’d been snapping at Tommy Hagan one day, and that ended up in a hallway brawl. And that ended up in a nice Saturday morning of detention with a handful of other random unfortunate souls and Tommy.

Contrary to his reputation, Eddie didn’t actually get detention often. He valued his time, meaning the only extra time he wanted to spend in those soul sucking walls of high school was for Hellfire.

He’d been amused when Heather walked in, looking thoroughly ashamed to be there in the first place as she sunk into a desk, trying not to draw attention to herself.

Naturally, Eddie had to make a spectacle of her arrival. It’d cost him another Saturday of detention, but jumping out of his desk and knocking a couple more over as he overacted his shock at seeing her had been worth it. 

Seeing her face turn that unflattering shade of red and the sheen of sweat that coated her skin brought him great joy.

Her telling him to suck her chode had not.

That’s how they found themselves in detention again the following Saturday. Only, it had been just them. And when Mrs. Click disappeared with some bogus excuse about making copies in the main office which was code for having sex with Principle Higgins in his office, Eddie knew the only source of entertainment was the girl sat all the way in the front of the classroom, doodling in a sketchbook.

“What are you drawing?” He asked as he slipped into the seat behind her, arms folding over the top of the desk.

She’d glanced over her sweater covered shoulder to glare at him before turning her attention back to her sketchbook without answering him. “Oh, c’mon. It’s just you and me, Holloway. You can drop the act. I know you love me.” He crooned, biting his lip as he grinned when she twisted around to face him, lips pursed in annoyance. “Is there a reason you’re such a jerk? Or is it just your personality?”

Eddie’s eyebrows had shot up, he was expecting to have to goad her a little more before he got a response. “More so a matter of circumstance,” he mused, fluttering his lashes for her. Her own dark eyes narrowed even more. It was clear her guard was up and while Eddie very much enjoyed grinding her gears, it was more fun when it was mutual banter. 

“Okay. Go on,” She shrugged her shoulders but her posture didn’t relax and Eddie suddenly felt vulnerable as she called his bluff. “Uh,” he licked his lips as he scrambled for something to follow up with. “The circumstances are—uh—we. . . you know what, we don’t like each other. That’s the circumstance. It’s our thing, don’t deviate from our thing.” Her pursed lips morphed into a frown as her eyebrows pinched together. “Well, why don’t you like me?” Eddie had been taken aback by the question. It had to be rhetorical, right? “Are you fucking with me?” She didn’t say anything, just shook her head as she waited for him to answer her. Eddie stared at her for a long time, but she hadn’t been unnerved enough to look away. In fact, she held his eye contact with the same intensity. “You’re a bitch, Heather.” “So are you, Eddie.” It wasn’t anything monumental, but that interaction caused a shift in whatever they were.

She turned back around, picked up her pencil and continued drawing, leaving Eddie kind of dumbfounded. Only because she wasn’t acting like herself. He didn’t know a whole lot about her, but he knew Heather was desperate for approval, figured that’s why she acted like she was better than everyone else. A fake it till you make it type of situation only he knew she was never gonna make it.

Something told Eddie she knew it, too.

Idk what’s with me these past weeks but I’ve had the urge to rewrite Dead Man’s Deal and Leonardo Come Down with some scenes/dialogue that have been echoing in my mind

Like if I were to rewrite DMD I’d love to expand on F!Leo’s relationship with Big Mama:

“Why?! Why did you do it? They had nothing to do with this! I trusted you!” Leo yelled as he fought against the hotel employees that hold his arms back.

Big Mama’s amused grin creeps on her spider face, fangs protruding behind her claws that try to hide her glee. Her eyes form crescent shapes from the pull of her lips, and she leans forward to tip his chin up at her as she asks in a condescending tone, “What made you think to trust me, turtley-boo?”

I lowkey wish I had expanded on their relationship a little more, show a bit more in the beginning that she isn’t the Big Mama that F!Leo remembers and make his departure from his time in the Battle Nexus seem more impactful to her business

And for LCD I would’ve loved to expand more on F!Leo’s impact on the Hidden City. Like show that yokai have run away from the city to Hueso’s in a panic because of their fear of the Mass Murderer of the Hidden City. And I would’ve loved to show his impact on the surface in New York City like the news covering the mysterious disappearances of its citizens that can’t be linked to really anything because it seems that the victims are randomly chosen (but obviously they mean something to F!Leo).

Maybe something like the turtles noticing how much more empty the streets are or instead of the turtles actively seeking out the “criminal” on Hueso’s account but the turtles walking home after hanging out with April and Little Leo suddenly getting attacked by F!Leo

“Leo, Leo! Over here!” Mikey calls out to the red-eared slider with flailing arms as he jumps onto the next rooftop.

Leo’s grin widens and he cocks his arm back, ready to throw the ball into Mikey’s awaiting arms when suddenly everything is a blur. His head swings forward as his body is thrown backwards. His head bounces off the ground as the wind is forced out his lungs.

A thick pressure releases itself from his neck and the world spins as he tries to make sense of what happened.

“Leo!” The slider hears his brothers cry out for him.

The slider looks up to see a figure looming over his, the gleam of a blade momentarily blinding him as it raises above his forehead.

He’s going to die. He’s going to die. He’s going to die. He’s going to die.

Leo sucks in his breath, hand shaking over the hilt of his katana. MOVE, he desperately urges his body in silence.

Leo swallows as everything moves in slow motion, the flicker of purple and red waving in the wind at the other end of the stranger’s blade.

His hand gripping tightly to his sword moves on its own, and he narrowly diverts the blade from piercing his forehead into the ground mere inches from his skin. His breaths come out shaky and shallow, his hand shaking from the force behind the stranger’s attack.

“Wh-,” Leo swallows his nerves down and asks in a tone trying to hide his fear, “Who the hell are you?”

The stranger rises slowly, pulling his blade out of the ground in a sharp, swift movement. He points the end of his blade at Leo’s head and answers in a tone flooding with bloodlust, “I am you.”

Idk maybe I’m just feeling sentimental because the movie’s anniversary is coming up (right? Maybe I’m wrong about that too)

“Ah Shit.”

Ah shit didn’t exactly convey the true reality of how screwed they were, but at the moment he was a bit too busy to come up with anything more poetic .

Behind the Empyrean, the Arcadia defense Nexus roared silently to life, a blue nimbus  against the blackness of space. Guns pivoted into place, and the sky was lit suddenly by the glowing white tails of rockets, streaking like comets through the darkness.

Adam Flexed his hand into a fist and rolled the empyrean hard to the left, just in time as a series of missiles streaked past them on the right. The ship shuttered as one of the rockets stratified their shields, but it was a glancing blow, and only served to knock them lightly off course.

Behind them, the Nexus flared brightly as the missiles impacted against the shield, erupting like sparklers in a new year fireworks show. Adam forced his hands out and down, like a wizard casting a particularly exuberant spell, and the Empyrean dropped rapidly, falling out of the line of fire just in time to avoid the salvo of missiles, energy beams and projectiles that would have impacted her shields all at once.

Though the Empyrean has its own artificial gravity, brought about by some unknown power, the laws of physics still tend to apply. You don’t want to be standing just anywhere when the floor rapidly drops out from underneath you.

Adam was fine, but all around the ship, anyone who wasn’t strapped in got a nasty surprise, rapidly tossed one way, and then the other before the floor dropped out from beneath them completely. For anyone in the main hub of the ship, this would have been a terrifying experience as they went hurtling towards the ceiling, or at least it would have if the Empyrean hadn’t been designed for just such an occasion.

Anyone who wasn’t already strapped down found themselves hauled to the floor by a .sudden increase of gravity, and held there as the ship spun around them at least until the momentum dampeners kicked in, and they were finally released to move about the ship as previously.

As soon as they dropped, Adam spun them hard right, rolling rapidly through the air, and giving Sunny a hell of a time as she tried to pilot the Empyrean’s weapon systems. The ship, smarter than your average inanimate object, stabilized her view  as the ship continued to spin, and Sunny let off a salvo of her own targeting multiple of the ships as they came roaring towards her.

Adam hadn’t really intended to get into a dogfight in his own backyard, but that ship had sailed, quite literally, and he’d be damned if he was going to let them come even an inch closer to that Nexus.

Adam had three very good reasons not to let anyone past them, and at least a dozen more pretty good reasons.

The night sky ahead of them was lit up with a visual cacophony of orange starbursts as the defense Nexus continued  with its deadly work.

Anyone who wasn’t a good hand at avoiding fire was quickly pelted with missiles, their shields taking an incredible beating. One unlucky little ship, devoid of sufficient power or, piloted by an insufficient captain, erupted into a sudden nimbus of scrap metal filling the already tumultuous battlefield with another potentially deadly hazard.

Shield slit up orange as scraps of splinter and metal impacted them at high speeds.

The battlefield around him became a chessboard laid out in three distinct dimensions, but unlike in aerial combat over a planet within the atmosphere of a planet, different rules applied. There was no wind resistance, which meant no one was getting points for being streamlined. There was no gravity which meant he couldn’t use the strain of g force against his opponents. Combat laid out with a strict set of geometrical rules, up, down, left right, diagonal, if you were being very creative, and arching, only if you wanted to show off.

In space, without wind resistance, ships go only where you tell them to, and in straight lines. To create curving serpentine patterns, a pilot has to intentionally create that affect by continually rotating their engines rather than relying on the way air interacts with the wings.

What ends up happening is an affect not dissimilar to a multidimensional game of foosball, back and forth, up and down.

Adam shot upward through an opening, doing his best to avoid any significant missiles, though he all but ignored the smaller projectiles.

You couldn’t win them all, and now was not the time to try.

Avoiding everything would be like trying to walk between raindrops during a deluge.

He fired off the Empyrean’s main energy cannons, but only at partial power. The Empyrean took her energy directly from her crew, tapping into their anima. The more people on the ship, the more powerful she was, and at max capacity, not even the blue giants were safe.

Ture to aim, two of the opposing ships were practically vaporized by his manuver.

Another ship to his left erupted as the defense nexus managed to punch through its shield. A proximity alert appeared on the viewscreen before him, coming up rapidly towards their belly. He rolled left, and whoever it was rolled with him. They spun around each other like two eagles locked in a mating dance before Adam pulled up sharply and tilted their nose downward.

Seamlessly, he passed over control of the main cannons, briefly, to Sunny, who took great pleasure in vaporizing their opponent.

He thought he might have heard her cackling, in so much as a Drev can cackle.

More ships were exploding now.

Left and right they were exploding as their shields began to fail. Void energy might have been powerful, but it was only the cheap knockoff version of real anima energy, made up by simply grinding up souls and squeezing them together, not dissimilar to the way that sausages are made all told.

Someone got off a lucky shot and their shields flared with bright golden light.

Adam cursed.

No matter how good a pilot you were, it was impossible not to get hit in a situation like this, but there was something nagging at him.

Another ship exploded to his right.

Who in the hell would attack him on his own turf, backed by a state-of-the-art defense nexus almost as good as what the Celzex homeworld had and maybe even a little better than what earth had. Their opponents were being chewed to bits, digested and then shat back out with near impunity.

They had to know that this was a losing battle.

Unless winning the battle wasn’t the point.

Adam racked his brain, trying to figure out what this might mean, trying to fill in the missing piece of the puzzle. Another ship engaged him, this one was bigger, meaner than the others, and they exchanged fire. The other pilot was good, and their fight turned rapidly into maneuvering up and down on the X, Y, and Z axises exchanging ordinance, that is until Adam took them in a rapid arc over their opponent while Sunny slathered them with a good helping of Fuck off.

Just because most space battles took place in straight lines didn’t mean it was ‘impossible’ to pull out a tricky manuver every now and again, and the Empyrean was well equipped.

Their main cannon got off a lucky shot and blasted a hole in their void shield, leaving an opening for Sunny to finish them off.

Adam’s mind was back in the game now.

Unless the battle wasn’t the point.

A distraction of course, but for what?

They couldn’t attack Arcadia, that was being made very clear the longer the fight went on andthe nexus tore them to bits. This was a Kamikaze mission,  and would mean nothing. There was nothing here that was capable of overloading Arcadia’s shields, except maybe a supernova but that was…

Ah shit!.

If there would have been a table present to slam his head against, he would have done it. He cursed violently, first in english, but when he ran out of words, he switched to a bastardized mixture of Drev and Spanish, both languages having a significantly better structure for swearing than his own native tongue.

How could they have been so stupid!

This was an INCREDIBLE oversight the likes of which would go down in Arcadian military intelligence history as a complete and utter failure if the planet even lived to tell about it. Inside his chest, Adam’s heart had gone ice cold. Fear tracked its way through his bloodstream like heroin through a vein.

They were down there..

Adam Crossed his arms over his body, and then uncrossed them violently engaging a reckless warp sequence that could just as rapidly kill them all as it could get them to their intended destination. In an instant the world of violence around them was gone, and the simple vastness of space loomed before them, dominated by the powerful burn of

Bob.

Arcadia’s star.

Sunny Cursed in surprise as did the rest of the crew, suddenly very confused.

“Captain why.”

“The STAR! It’s just a distraction, they are going after the star!” He shouted, “Get Avex on the line and tell him to get over here with a nexu, now!”  Hopefully the Celex emperor was willing to play ball, though Adam didn’t see why he wouldn’t.

Now all that retained was making sure the star stayed as intended.

If he was right.

The star was huge, and looking for their opponents was like trying to find a dust moat while staring into a flashlight with a few thousand lumens. 

If he was wrong, and they had other plans…. He didn’t even want to think about it

But his crew trusted him, and didn’t question his assurance as they began scanning the nearby area for some evidence of interlopers. When they had brought the star here, they had neglected to consider that it would become a target. They were too busy celebrating their new source of light they didn’t even think to consider that most solar systems had at least rudimentary protections around their source of light, not simply because losing it would spell death for most planets, not arcadia, but in this case.

A star could be made into a really big bomb. Even at a distance from Arcadia, a supernova could easily wipe out the entirety of the artificial Bobsystem.

“Got it!” Someone shouted.

Adam followed the commands, and on his screen detected the small ship sitting as close as it could to Bob as it could without imploding , but even as he watched, the ship released some sort of pailod, which began rapid freefall into the star’s gravity well.

ive seen a startling amount of people who just straight up Don't know who he is which is like kinda understandable when he doesn't show up in the animations but at the same time he has a full fledged bossfight in project nexus so * shrug *

but in effect i think his forgettability is a thing in-universe, too. he gets mike wazowski'd out of pictures of all 3 head scientists. people recognize & remember christoff n hofnarrs work all the time but if you ask them about the enmeshment program they just kinda.....?? so sorry?? or at best it's like a "oh, that? did that ever even go anywhere? sounded crazy lol idk how that even got approved"

i think his rivalry with christoff was super one-sided. it was everything to him but moreso a footnote annoyance to christoff. i kinda think abt the fact that christoff came back to nexus city, had every opportunity to have some sort of confrontation or final showdown with him like to "settle the score", and just Did Not. bc he was busy. with more important things

he has the ADHD cycle syndrome of "OH!! IM GONNA START ON THIS PROJECT AND ITLL BE AWESOME!!" -> "OK SUDDENLY I DONT FEEL LIKE WORKING ON THIS ANYMORE" -> "WHAT IF I STARTED A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THING INSTEAD" and that's why he never really got much done or is known for much. he was only really able to stick with the enmeshment program out of sheer spite for christoff and everyone else who thought it was insane

he has really awful anxiety that both feeds into and stems from all of this- he's afraid of bothering people and avoids asking for things if he can help it, so most of the time he just kinda fades into the background and keeps to himself. it kinda leads to this self perpetuating cycle of misery.

in general i like to think he was the youngest of the science team (only in his 40s at the time of joining nexus while hofnarr & christoff were closer to their 60s and 50s, respectively) nd like they're all adults by then who know better than to act like highschoolers, but it did sort of impact the way people treated him a little. like people just assumed he didn't have as much experience or was in over his head or didn't automatically know as much as everyone else

all of this also probably fed into autism related anger issues where he just had a tendency to snap at people and in general over completely benign things, n coupled with his Everything Else it kinda just made people. not wanna be around him.

he's emotionally constipated and can barely get a sentence out about the way he feels abt things without breaking down into tears and then the fact that he's crying over nothing frustrates him and he starts crying harder and then. well. you understand

overall he's just an incredibly world weary, drained person who is constantly being spoken over, forgotten and left behind to me and who leaps like a tick at any slight suggestion of attention or praise.

post-nexus, i think he behaves so differently bc he's finally just snapped over years of being a nobody and is fully dedicated to gouging himself into people's memory. he's super loud and flashy & flamboyant (flambuoyant?) and demands to be worshipped and praised and revered! he acts almost solely on impulse & intrusive thoughts and has to keep moving constantly and never stops to second-guess and refuses to be burdened by fears and worries.
