Ninjago Oc Secret Summer 2024!

What is a Secret Summer? - It's basically a Secret Santa (A secret gift giving event) but in Summertime/Not-December instead! - For this event, you'll be secretly assigned someone to draw/write a gift for based around their oc(s) - It's very important that no one knows that you are making them a gift and vice versa, that you don't know who is making you a gift!

Are there any rules?

- Absolutely no N/S/F/W or Suggestive content is permitted for prompts, gifts, or references. This is /not/ an 18+ event.

- No direct contact with the person you're making a gift for; you can communicate through me or someone helping run the event, or ask through anon on tumblr if you can.

- No AI art/writing, Gacha edits, face claims, picrews, or bases will be permitted for oc reference submissions or gifts.

- Oc x Canon and Oc x Oc ships are 100% allowed.

- Fankids, sonas, and self inserts are also allowed; my only rule is that fankids of Lloyd x Canon ships are not permitted.

- Please respect requests regarding holiday or seasonal preferences when making a gift. Don't depict an oc participating in a holiday or seasonal activity that the creator asked not be depicted. - For the art portion, you must draw the character(s) you were assigned and they must be visible (feel free to ask for clarification).

How many ocs can be submitted total? - Three ocs can be submitted but only one is required.

What will I need for sign ups? - Refs or art that show a clear, colored depiction of your oc - OR at least two pieces of writing for said oc (does not need to be a whole fic. Could easily just be a quick blurb showing how they're written as a character) - Basic Information/Fun Facts about your character. This can be background information, relationships, likes/dislikes, age and height, personality, etc. - Suggestions or prompts for your gift giver. Stuff to help get their brain going. - Your blog name (not the name you go by but the url name. Like @/Ninjago-Oc-Appreciation, for example. Make sure it's a tumblr url, and not from any other social media).

What's the General Timeline for this event? - Sign ups will be rolling out April 14th and will remain open until the 21st. Requests can be made for small extensions if needed. - Assignments will be made sometime after the sign up forms close; posting week will begin late June (exact date to be announced with sign ups) - There will be exactly one week designated as a late period at the start of July.

How do I sign up? - In April, I'll post a google document where you can submit your ocs! There will be one for writing and one for art! - Please reach out to me after signing up in some way. This can be through messages, asks, comments, etc. In the past we've had issues with the forms, where they'd "eat' a submission, and I'd like to know when to check to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Bruiseshipping Exchange part for @cravingtakoyaki

They are playing APOCALYPSE OF THE DAMNED! So, I was a pitch hitter and got the perfect prompts of musical theater, video games and fluff, all of which I’m quite familiar with when it comes to these two. Outfits inspired by Michael and Jeremy from Be More Chill! Funnily enough it was the Boyf Riends that got me into Ninjago again.

Though I wasn’t able to work on these for more then a couple of crunched hours I still think I did a fine job. I hope you enjoy it!

Quick interest check - Ninjago holiday fanworks fest

Yes, I am asking this in June—partially because this fest would accept fanworks for any holiday, whether it be the Mid-Autumn Festival or Eid, to fictional holidays like Day of the Departed. And partially because this is something only my summer break scrambled brain would come up with.

This fest would be very casual, with a wide net open submission posting period to an Ao3 collection. Additionally, each week will have a suggested theme for fanworks to follow. The theme will not be required; it's there only if you want the inspiration.

Now. I am faced with the realization that mayhaps this would have been better as a Google Form for the data visualization.

Hi everyone! The Ninjago Calendar fan project is now open for its 5th year :D

As usual, the free digital fan calendar comprises of 12 themed artworks and fics, for each of the 12 months, which will be available late December for everyone to view and download.

Contributor sign ups for this year are now open. They will be closed August 4, 2024 so come sign up before then!

And of course, you can find the rules and guidelines here. This year, we have removed the holidays exceptions. Holidays will now no longer be allowed, to allow for more inclusivity and to encourage contributors to be creative with their topics.

Ninjago Oc Secret Summer Interest Post

As some of y'all might recall, last year I ran a Secret Summer event as an attempt to try out a Summer/Not-December version of the Secret Santa!

Well the time has come to start planning out another such event! This post is going to serve as an interest check and general announcement, with a more detailed announcement to come depending on whether or not people are interested.

The timeline for the event will be around the same as last year, with announcements in March, sign ups and assignments in April, time to create your gifts throughout May and June, and then posting in Late June.

If anyone has any questions or concerns, feel free to let me know!

Hi everyone! To kick off our seasonal Morro events, our first one will be the spring collab event!

This year our theme is flowers/flower language.

Here's how it works: Sign-ups for a flower will occur in April (though this is not a deadline and you may continue to sign up for flowers in May).

Please note: you do NOT have to sign-up in order to participate in this event but it does help provide us a way to see who is doing what and help participants find others to collab with!

Participants will then create a work (or multiple if they wish!) that fits the theme/flower they chose and this will be posted any time from May 19-31. Anything goes--fics, art, gifs, cosplay, etc. As this is a "collab" event, we do encourage participants to collab with others and try their hand at any flowers that have not been claimed yet! You're also more than welcome to do multiple flowers/works!

For posting, simply post on tumblr any time from May 19 to 31 and tag this blog and we will reblog it here!

Rules:

No hate (racism, transphobia, homophobia, Islamophobia, etc) will be allowed, except in the context of exploring those themes.

OCs, AUs, and other non-canon content will be allowed.

Please tag/disclose all adult content properly so we may do the same when we reblog it here (we will allow adult content but we strongly encourage you to keep it rated T as the Ninjago fandom contains a wide range of ages).

Any other questions or concerns? Feel free to drop by and ask us! This really isn't an event with a lot of strict rules as long as you have fun and respect others :)
