Something you have found it interesting to observe changing over time?
i was born in the late 90's, right at the time when the majority of kids from my generation would use the computer at home. some of those kids (including myself) quickly got addicted to using the computer on a level above the norm, and people like that were called nerds, nolives, geeks, etc. at school. but now it's totally the norm to use electronic devices constantly. i rarely use my laptop now and my phone usage is very mild when i compare it to that of today's teens' (i still spend a few hours on it everyday on average). even though i think that change is really worrying for their development (speaking from experience), i can't blame them, since it's the kind of environment they're growing up in. it was the same for me with the computer.
on that same topic, teenagers today can't read the time on analog clocks, which is a striking sign of the rise of technology in their everyday lives.
Idk who's this youtuber, don't know them, don't care.
But i just been thinking about this video, yeah.
it's like. idk. it's sad how we have to perceive people, and yet in the same time it's simply undeniable that we can't trust strangers, and especially cannot trust strangers who present masculine, who happen to present 'male'. Sometimes we can't even trust people we think we know, and sometimes we can't trust them because we know them.
Like, internet and terfs loves to make it into a silly gender war, into silly war of toilets or changing rooms, or inherent "nature" of a group of people. But it's not about some stupid toilet fears of some stupid Terfs. (Come on. Have you never been in a public toilet where anyone gets in? lol??) And instead it's just how many people didn't learn Basic behaviour rules and/or doesn't care to learn them/doesn't want to abide by them, and how you seriously can't trust strangers.
And it's just, yeah. I wish education was better. It was never good, though i feel like it could go worse with how divided people become? There is the 'epidemic of loneliness'; The way being alone can make people weird; The way we can feel ok being alone; The way our interactions have been changing for past decades;
The way internet pop/culture bubbles can shape minds (and especially young minds) in very specific ways (sjws,incels, anime nolives who don't understand they shouldn't behave irl like in some weird fetishy anime, tiktok tradwives, those weird love coaches that tell people you'll get a partner if you insult your crush a lot, and people who actually try that, etc. etc.);
How, in a way everyone wants to be the victim. Everyone wants to be the deeply hurt preacher understood and heard by many. Everyone, regardless of circumstance, wants to be pat on the back, hear that it's ok that they exist. And everyone wants to be like "umm, actually I have it Worse than others and worse than you so shut up." As sometimes it becomes a contest of who got it worse, who deserves everything more. Like social media loves dividing people, but nothing loves to divide people more than people themselves.
How even in preaching of "inclusion" there can be exclusion. Like the queer events "for women and nonbinary only" that turn back anyone who looks 'too" masculine, like it's Somehow incredibly scary to accidently let any men slip in to a group event?? It's a group event, not a date with a stranger 1 to 1 in the middle of nowhere. Someone's acting rude? They can be thrown out. Lol.)
Anyways, terfs are stupid and i think they could only use this topic for furthering gender wars. The issue lies within education but also in the gender wars and the trial to divide people more and more by genders "the good vs the bad" (the good ones being always the people of your gender).
