Annecy Film Festival Website Lists Time For Disney Television Animation And Disney EMEA Animation Panel.

Annecy Film Festival has unveiled it’s full schedule from screenings, panels and studio focus. The website has listed the Dragon Striker/Disney Television Animation/Disney EMEA Animation. The panel is slated for Tuesday, June 10th at 18:00PM EST.

The panel will only feature the creators and crew of the upcoming Dragon Striker series however it seems that they will unveil new series orders and new season greenlits for both units.

ICYMI: Based on the Disney Careers website, Disney Television Animation greenlit 6 new NDA animated series across Disney Channel, Disney Jr. and Disney+.

During a Studio Focus session on Tuesday, June 10, attendees will get an exclusive look at the upcoming anime-inspired Disney+ Original series Dragon Striker.  Explore the creation of the epic anime-inspired Disney+ Original Series set in a world where sports and magic combine. From the genesis of the project at Chouette Studios in Paris to the symphonic music recording in Tokyo, the creative team from Chouette and Disney will take the audience on a journey through the artistic challenges they overcame at each stage of this ambitious fantasy adventure.

Ariel To Make A Splash Debut Thursday, June 27, Streaming Next Day On Disney+

Disney Branded Television announced today the premiere date for the highly anticipated animated musical series “Ariel.” Inspired by “The Little Mermaid (2023)” the series will debut on THURSDAY, JUNE 27, on Disney Junior (9:00 a.m. EDT/PDT) and air on Disney Channel later that day, with an initial batch of eight episodes available on Disney+ the following day, FRIDAY, JUNE 28.

Disney Junior has also released the theme song who will be Disney TVA 's #98 series overall.

To help build excitement for “Ariel,” it was also announced that a new series of shorts titled “Ariel: Mermaid Tales” will be featured across Disney Junior, Youtube and Disney+ beginning Wednesday, June 5. Each two-minute short will highlight a different aspect of Ariel’s life in Atlantica.

Recurring Guest Cast on ARIEL include Yvette Nicole Brown ("Firebuds", "Pupstruction") as Aquatica, Melissa Villaseñor ("Primos", Cartoon Network Studios "OK K.O Let's Be Heroes") as Navi, Ron Funches (Pixar Animation Studios "Inside Out 2") as Delfino, Kevin Michael Richardson ("The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder", "La Familia Avenúñez") as Sebastian, Parvesh Cheena (Netflix Animation "Centaurworld") as Ravi, Danni Washington as Tantie Chantale, Alanna Ubach (Nickelodeon "El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera") as Cristina Cuttles, Dana Heath (Nickelodeon "Danger Force") and Jessica Mikayla (Disney Launchpad "Project CC") play Ariel’s twin sisters Ayanna and Alanna, respectively.

The acclaimed songwriting teams are comprised of Anthony M. Jones (Tone), Sofia Quinn, Olivia Waithe, Chantry Johnson, Michelle Zarlenga and Rosemarie Tan.  Christopher Willis ("The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse" franchise) serves as composer. Sean Skeete, dean of the Professional Performance division at Berklee College of Music, is the Caribbean music consultant.

Walt Disney Records will release a digital soundtrack on Friday, June 28, and an array of dolls, playsets, role-play, costumes, apparel, books and more from Disney Consumer Products and Disney Publishing Worldwide will be available this summer.

Ayo Davis Speaks On Disney Jr. Sucess As DEADLINE Reveals That Disney Jr. Dominates Preschool Programming Beating Netflix And Other Services. 

Last Week, Bloomberg revealed that Disney has acquired the streaming rights of the preschool franchise "Cocomelon" from Netflix with the Moonbug IP set to bow on Disney+ in 2027.

During the report it was revealed that Disney+ has become the "the preeminent brand for kids programming" across streaming according to DEADLINE and Bloomberg with Disney Channel and Disney Jr being the most watched brands across streaming.

Additionaly Disney+ had the most streamed preschool shows in Q1, 2025 with Bluey, Spidey and his Amazing Friends, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Deadline can also exclusively reveal that Disney Jr. now nominates the preschool market in streaming with Bluey, Spidey And His Amazing Friends, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, SuperKitties and more dominating the views watched. DEADLINE spoke with Ayo Davis on the sucess.

Per Nielsen, Disney Jr. had four of the Top 10 most-watched series for preschoolers in 2024, and it remained the No. 1 cable network for Kids 2-5 for the third year in a row.

Bluey has amassed 70B minutes viewed since the start of 2024, which translates to a whopping 133,000 years of watch time. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, which ran from 2006 to 2016, has over 5B views on YouTube. In total, the show has over 12B hours watched across linear and streaming since Disney+ launch. Spidey and his Amazing Friends is another YouTube hit, amassing 2.3B views across Disney Jr. and Marvel HQ YouTube channels. That has also translated directly to its popularity on Disney+, where it has webbed 896M hours globally becoming the second most watched preschool series across streaming beating Cocomelon at Netflix.  SuperKitties, which was the No. 1 new preschool series across linear and streaming when it premiered in 2023. It kept up the momentum last year, closing out 2024 as a Top 10 most-watched series for preschoolers. Season 2 is currently airing on Disney Jr. and Disney+ with Season 3 slated to debut later this year.

This will continue this year and in 2026 as the network is set to bow the preschool series "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+", "Iron-Man And His Awesome Friends", "Hey A.J!", "Magicampers", "Sofia The First: Royal Magic", "Tiny Trailblazers" and "Dusty Dupree" in the next 3 years.

This will continue as the network greenlit 2 new preschool series at Disney Television Animation based on the Disney Careers website. Additionaly Ayo Davis hinted that more Marvel preschool shows are in development at Marvel Studios and Marvel Animation back in February 2025.

The network also has development projects with creators like Norma P. Sepuvelda, José Zelaya, Krista Tucker, Harland Williams and Dave Pressler.
