Hello! My name's Alanna and I'm the lead editor of LOVE UNLIMITED, Marvel Unlimited's romance comic line. This week we finished a story about Gwendolyn Poole, AKA Gwenpool, coming to the realization that she's aromantic and asexual--and though I usually prefer to let the stories speak for themselves, I wanted to talk a bit about this one.

There was basically no awareness of the asexual spectrum when I was growing up--I went through both high school and college secretly feeling like I was some kind of alien in a world that made no sense to me. Finding out that other people experienced the same thing, and that I wasn't weird or broken, was a big moment in my life.

I know how much it would have meant to me to see a character grappling with the same questions I was. I searched desperately for myself in stories as a kid even though I couldn't quite define what I was looking for yet. I'm so glad that there are more ace stories now, and honored that we were able to bring one more into the world.

I was inspired and emboldened to pitch this story by the work my friends Andrea Shea, Ro Stein and Ted Brandt did on Connor Hawke's story at DC, by Latoya Raveneau's ace advocacy within Disney, and by my erstwhile assistant editor and co-conspiritor Kaitlyn Lindtvedt, who, I discovered after a few months of working together, was also ace! We were helped and supported at every step by other aces at Marvel as well--there are more of us than you might think! It's also amazing that our EIC and Marvel greenlit this story and gave us the freedom to tell it the way we wanted.

I'm so grateful to @jeremywhitley, @bailiesartblog and Kelly Fitzpatrick for bringing this story to life. Working with an all-ace team has been so special--there's just something magic about knowing that even though our individual experiences differed, we had something fundamental and formative in common. There are pieces of all of us in this story, if you know where to look.

Questlove & Black Thought Connect With Disney Junior For Rise Up, Sing Out Animated Series Focused On Racism & Social Justice

Disney Junior announces a new animated series for their preschool-aged audience designed to address current issues of racism and social justice. Rise Up, Sing Out will consist of music shorts that celebrate differences in people and opens up conversations around the topics. Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson and Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter of The Roots are providing the music for the shorts and executive producing through their Two One Five Entertainment Production company alongside Latoya Raveneau (Disney + The Proud Family: Louder & Prouder) who also is an executive producer.  The Conscious Kid, an organization dedicated to promoting healthy racial identities for youth, is consulting on the series and creating a viewing companion guide for parents.

Questlove and Black Thought released a joint statement about Rise Up, Sing Out:

"It is an honor to work with the Disney Junior team to help create a series of shorts that will empower and uplift the future generations in the way we know best, through music. We hope these shorts will encourage the young audience to recognize and celebrate our differences as human beings while learning the tools to navigate real-world issues of racial injustice."

Rise Up, Sing Out will premiere later this year across all Disney Junior platforms.

A series of videos reveals the Walt Disney Co.’s “not-at-all-secret gay agenda,” as Disney finds itself at the center of national debate over gay rights, transgenderism, and parental rights.

The videos—obtained by investigative journalist Christopher Rufo and posted Tuesday on Twitter—expose Disney executives inside an all-hands meeting in response to Florida’s HB 1557, the Parental Rights in Education bill, which was recently signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Leaked video from Disney’s “Reimagine Tomorrow” summit reveals top-level employees openly discussing the company’s push to include more LGBTQ+ content in its ever-growing library.

Released by Christopher Rufo of City Journal, one video featured executive producer Latoya Raveneau casually talking about how the company encouraged her “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” when she became an employee.

“I love Disney’s content, I grew up watching all the classics,” said Raveneau. “They have been a huge informative part of my life. But at the same time, I worked at small studios most of my career and I’ve heard things like they won’t let you show this in a Disney show, and I’m like okay.”

“So I was a little suss when I started. But then, my experience was bafflingly the opposite of what I had heard,” she continued. “In my little pocket of Proud Family TVA, the showrunners were super welcoming. Meredith Roberts and our leadership over there has been so welcoming to my not-at-all secret gay agenda.”

Raveneau said that this sudden change in Disney encouraged her to add “queerness” wherever she could, whether it was having two characters kiss or just having a queer character.

“No one would stop me and no one was trying to stop me,” she concluded.

Another video released by Christopher Rufo featured Disney corporate president Karey Burke speaking as “a mother of two queer children – one transgender child and one pansexual child.” Burke discussed the company’s desire to include more “queer leads” in its creative content.

The videos come amid Disney declaring open war on the state of Florida over its Parental Rights Law – what radical LGBTQ activists have dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

LGBTQ representation in children’s shows has been on the uptick this past decade, beginning in 2014 on the Disney show Good Luck Charlie, which featured a lesbian mom couple. That was later followed by the Disney show Andi Mack featuring the first teenage gay couple on the network. Okay, as someone who identifies as homoromantic, what Matt Walsh says about the asexual spectrum pisses me off.

To explain what homoromantic is, it's one of the terms within the ace spectrum that isn't really discussed or known about. Before I came across the term, for a short while, I used asexual lesbian as a way to identify myself, which I know can be confusing for people, since the term lesbian is defined as having sexual attraction to women. Terms like homoromantic, biromantic aroace, etc, aren't really well known, even within the LGBT+ community and I think have only begun to become talked about more, especially with Jaiden coming out as aroace 😊

So for those who don't know what homoromatic is, it means being romantically attracted to the same gender. There are so many terms under the ace ans aro community (and who knows, some of you reading this might find a term that you identify with) so I HIGHLY recommend you do more research on it, even if you don't identify on the asexual and aromantic spectrums. But be careful, there are SO SO many misconceptions out there.

This is why it's so important for more people to understand what the ace/aro/aroace communities are.

For those who don't know, here's a quick recap. I've only found out about this today, but from my understanding, Latoya Raveneau came out as biromantic (I'm so happy for her! I'd be putting a flag here, but emojis don't seem to have any ace/aro/aroace spectrum flags 😕) anyway, so this Matt Walsh guy, from my understanding is a conservative political commentator who does say some REALLY stereotypical and dumbfounded things about what asexuality is.

Bottom Falls Out for Disney, 70% of Americans Turn on Company as Video Shows Anti-Grooming Chants at Park

A new poll shows that the once-beloved Walt Disney Co. is quickly losing the trust of Americans amid the company’s continuing efforts to push the left’s radical agenda.

The Trafalgar Group survey, conducted April 4-8, found that nearly 70 percent of likely voters say they are less likely to do business with Disney in the wake of reports about the company promoting “queerness” in its content for children.

In late March, journalist Christopher Rufo obtained several clips from Disney’s recent “Reimagine Tomorrow” meeting and shared them on Twitter.

In one video, Latoya Raveneau, identified as an executive producer for Disney Television Animation, said the company has been pushing hard for what she described as her “not-at-all-secret gay agenda.”

Most Americans disapprove of that approach, according to the new poll.

The survey said, “News reports reveal Disney is focusing on creating content to expose young children to sexual ideas. Does this make you more or less likely to do business with Disney?”

A whopping 57.2 percent said they were “much less likely” and 11 percent said “less likely” to do so, for a total of 68.2 percent.

Meanwhile, only 9.4 percent said Disney’s support of radical leftism makes them interested in giving the entertainment giant more support, while 22.5 percent said they had no opinion on the issue.

According to the poll, people across the political spectrum have found themselves losing faith in Disney. A huge majority of Republicans and independents said they were less likely to patronize Disney now, and almost half of Democrats also agreed.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Trafalgar found that 85.3 percent of Republicans said Disney’s promotion of a radical LGBTQ agenda makes them less likely to do business with the company. Meanwhile, only 4.4 percent of Republicans responding said it would make them more likely to do so.

Independents were also seen turning against the Mouse House, with 72.5 percent indicating they have turned against Disney while only 9.1 percent said Disney’s sexualization of kids makes them more likely to support the company.

But, amazingly, the poll discovered that 48.2 percent of Democrats said they are less likely to do business with Disney, while only 14.4 percent said Disney’s assault on children makes them more likely to support the company.

The survey of 1,079 likely voters had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.99 percent at the 95 percent confidence level.

In more bad news for Disney, the poll also found that large numbers are considering other forms of entertainment to replace Disney’s products.

Again, a majority, 69.1 percent, said they are likely to support family-friendly alternatives to Disney. The poll found that 45.1 percent said they are “very likely” to look for other entertainment venues outside of Disney, 24 percent said “somewhat likely” to look elsewhere.

Meanwhile, 30.8 percent said they are unlikely to search for alternate entertainment sources, 19.3 percent said “very unlikely,” and 11.5 percent said “somewhat unlikely.”

Breaking down that latter question along party lines also showed that majorities in all three categories are feeling negatively toward Disney.

The survey found 77.6 percent of Republicans are likely to look for other family-friendly alternatives to Disney, and 72.1 percent of independents agreed with that, as did 58.6 percent of those who identified as Democrats.

The upshot here is pretty startling. Usually, in this sort of polling on cultural issues, you see huge numbers of Republicans and a healthy number of independents agreeing, with Democrats disagreeing by just as large a percentage. Such polls typically swing wildly between Republicans and Democrats, with the two sides being polar opposites.

In this case, however, Disney has come out on the losing end even among Democrats.

That might be a sign that the radical left-wing agenda isn’t really even that popular among Democrats, at least when it comes to grooming tiny children to be open for sexual conquest by radical LGBT activists.

The poll comes amid protests against Disney over its radical agenda.

On Wednesday, protesters chanting “Grooming is wrong” descended upon California’s Disneyland theme park. The demonstrators held signs reading “Defund Disney,” “Protect Our Children,” “Support Parental Rights” and more.

The Ohio-based group Moms for America also has planned a protest for this coming weekend at Disney’s Florida resort.

Of course, all these protests and negative poll results serve as a backdrop to the entertainment company’s failed efforts to defeat Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law, which prevents young children from being exposed to radical LGBT indoctrination and dangerous gender identity politics in the state’s schools.

The left has falsely labeled it the “Don’t Say Gay” law and claimed that it “targets” LGBT kids. But it does no such thing. The law does not even mention homosexuality. It merely “prohibits classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through 3rd grade and prohibits instruction that is not age appropriate for students.”

One has to ask, what sane adult would want to burden tiny children with sexual indoctrination? Why are liberals so intent on exposing tiny tots to gender identity instruction?

Many conservatives have taken to calling the left’s aim to sexualize children a form of grooming, and that is exactly what it is. Leftists aim to train small children into adopting their sexual views at a very young age without any regard for the wishes of parents.

This is also intended to further undermine the American nuclear family and funnel children into the care of the left.

If the protests and the polls are any indication, the extremists are not winning this argument right now.

But make no mistake, America. Leftists play the long game. They might not be winning today, but they reckon that our resistance will be battered down over time and they will win later. And it is up to us to stop them cold here and now.
