'Andrew Scott has expressed his hope that the increase in queer sex scenes on screen – including his own in new film All of Us Strangers – will help to “bring the world forward”.
Speaking exclusively to PinkNews on the red carpet at a UK screening of All of Us Strangers ahead of its release on Friday (26 January), Andrew Scott reflected on the importance of seeing queer sex represented.
All of Us Strangers follows Scott as Adam, a depressed screenwriter who heads back to his childhood home to see his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell) – only they’ve been dead for 30 years following a car crash.
Over the coming weeks, Adam speaks to their apparitions about things he never could when they were alive, including coming out to them both.
At the same time, he sparks a relationship with a gay man, Harry (Paul Mescal), who lives in the same apartment block in London. Harry supports Adam through the lingering grief of losing his parents.
While the film is a devastating tear-jerker, it also features several raunchy sex scenes between Scott and Mescal – including one scene in which Mescal’s character appears to go down on Scott’s, and another in which he licks semen from Scott’s chest.
2023 saw a wave of explicit queer sex scenes grace our screens, from Ben Whishaw and Franz Rogowski in romantic drama Passages, to Nicholas Galtizine and Taylor Zakar Perez in cheesy rom com Red, White & Royal Blue.
Speaking to PinkNews, Scott and Mescal praised the uptick of queer sex scenes as “wonderful”.
“What’s going to help bring the world forward is just to have representation in that sense,” Scott said.
“I always say [that] as a queer person, seeing straight relationships constantly and almost exclusively, it hasn’t made me disgusted to look at them. I just go, ‘there you go’.
“It’s not what I particularly want to spend my time doing but that doesn’t mean other people shouldn’t,” he added.
“So that’s what we have to get used to – representation, representation, representation.”
Scott, who will soon be starring in new Netflix thriller Ripley, recently spoke to Graham Norton about the sex scenes, telling the host that while they are “tasteful”, he hopes he won’t have to watch them with his parents.
All of Us Strangers is out in UK cinemas on 26 January.'

Sam Heughan has signed up to the celebrity dating app Raya in a bid to find love, MailOnline can reveal.
Despite being known for his role as the dashing Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in Outlander, the Scottish actor, 43, is yet to find his dream partner.
Sam, who was last seen enjoying a romance with Australian model Monika Clarke in 2022, has decorated his Raya profile with a slew of hunky snaps, and lists his main location as the UK.
MailOnline has contacted a representative for Sam Heughan for comment.
Raya is a private membership community that started out as a dating app, but has since become a platform for networking and social discovery.

A select few are chosen to be part of the 'elite community', with the waiting list to join the app said to be in the 'thousands' and 'not even 10 per cent of those who apply get in'
It was launched in 2015, and can be used on iPhones and iPads for $9.99 a month.
Sam was previously spotted kissing Australian model Monika Clarke in 2022, and he was also romantically linked to Twin Peaks actress Amy Shiels in 2018

Other names thought to have signed up include F1 star Lewis Hamilton, actor James Norton and footballer Jude Bellingham.
Before that he was romantically linked to Into The Woods actress MacKenzie Mauzy in 2017 before they split quietly the next year, and also previously dated Cody Kennedy and Abbie Salt as well.
In May 2023, Sam shared rare insight into his love life by admitting he's still looking for 'The One.'
He told People: 'I've done all of the gift-giving and turning up when least expected, but, so far, I'm still looking.'
He has starred on Starz series Outlander throughout its run, with the second half of its seventh season set to premiere in November 2024.

Despite being known for his role as the dashing Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in Outlander (pictured), Sam admitted in May he is yet to find his dream partner.
Outlander is a historical drama television series based on the ongoing novel series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon.
It is centered around an English combat nurse named Claire Randall (Catriona Balfe) from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743.
Last year, Sam also starred opposite Poldark's Eleanor Tomlinson in the steamy Channel 4 drama The Couple Next Door.
The series saw Evie and her husband Pete (Alfred Enoch) moving into an upscale neighbourhood, where they met next door neighbours cop Danny (Sam) and his wife, glamorous yoga instructor Becka (Jessica De Gouw).
As time goes on, these two couples get increasingly close to each other and one fateful night, become sexually entangled in a way that will change their lives forever.
During filming, Eleanor and Sam worked with intimacy coordinator Vanessa Coffey.
Prior to filming, the pair also knew each other through their mutual friend Caitríona Balfe, who plays Jamie's wife, Claire, in Outlander.
Eleanor previously told The Radio Times: 'Sam is now one of my best friends. Every day was a joy and creating Danny and Evie’s complicated and dangerous relationship was a lot of fun.
'It’s a real treat to work alongside such a supportive co-star but to leave a job with a best friend is pretty rare.'

Oops! Old news SH has been on Raya for a while and still can't find what he’s supposedly looking for 😬 One-night -stand with MC a date? If after breakfast He didn't see her again. A casual first night doesn't mean a date on the table. No one had ever mentioned this to the journalist 😂

UK presenting royalty Graham Norton has left Twitter soon after Harry Potter writer J.K. Rowling criticized him over comments about transgender people made in a recent interview.
The row began after singer-songwriter Billy Bragg commended Norton for his position on trans rights made at the Cheltenham Literature Festival.
Rowling, who has often clashed with trans activists on social media, told Bragg he was “supporting rape and death threats” by backing Norton, who appeared to have actually said very little to spark the controversy. When questioned on Rowling’s position on trans rights, Norton had said: “When I’m asked about it, I become a part of it. My voice adds nothing to that discussion and I’m sort of embarrassed that I’m somehow drawn into it.
“If people want to shine a light on those issues then talk to trans people. Talk to the parents of trans kids, talk to doctors, talk to scientists. Talk to someone who can illuminate it in some way.”
The comments were part of an answer to an initial question about Monty Python star John Cleese, who often criticizes what he sees as cancel culture. Norton has said so-called ‘cancel culture’ was actually another phrase for ‘accountability’ facing celebrities over their words.
However, in criticising Bragg, Rowling wrote: “Enjoying the recent spate of bearded men stepping confidently onto their soapboxes to define what a woman is and throw their support behind rape and death threats. You may mock, but takes real bravery to come out as an Old Testament prophet.”
Neither Norton nor Bragg referenced rape or death threats in their statements.
Norton has since deleted his @grahnort account. Watch his initial comments below.
Deadline has reached out to Norton’s reps for comment.

Help me to understand something or give me an explanation. How is it possible that Louis having all that promo with interviews, playlists and a big fandom his numbers are so bad, worse than singers that nobody knows, have no fans and don’t promote their music? Literally his song didn't enter the charts. Could it be that the general public don't like his music or have no interest in him? I can't find any other explanation… it’s just so frustrating.
It’s an exaggeration to say that his numbers are as bad as unknown singers when that’s obviously not true, but to correct what you’re saying here, Louis actually doesn’t have good promo or a lot of promo.
In the UK, he did almost no TV interviews, and those that he did do were with shows watched by people who are not in Louis’ target audience (like Lorraine, which has a largely older audience). These interviews were never accompanied by performances. Much of the UK media focuses on Louis’ personal life or demeans him, like that BBC article where the interviewer takes Louis’ quotes and intersperses them with insults, backhanded compliments, and inaccurate stats. Louis’ done a few interviews with radio stations in India and Australia, for example, and also didn’t perform the song. In the United States, he did one nighttime talk show and a few morning radio shows, which is good, but now he is repeating the mistakes of Walls promo by touring small radio stations across the United States that don’t even play his song and doing listening parties with existing fans who would have bought his music anyway.
Louis’ fanbase is not good at streaming and he doesn’t have streams from the general public that would boost those numbers. To get that general public support, the general public has to actually see you and hear your music. That means appearances and performances on talk shows like Fallon and Kimmel in the United States, or Norton and Ross in the UK. That means interviews and performances on large radio stations that BMG pushes to actually put Louis’ song in rotation rather than playing it once when he’s on and never again. That means Louis performing at events and festivals. That means Louis posting promo updates and magazine covers to his actual account rather than that information being posted on LTHQ’s accounts with tens of millions fewer followers. That means Louis doing more promo in some of the places that love him most, such as South America and Mexico. That means BMG and Matt Vines having a strategy beyond listening parties and catering to stalkers and expecting fans to be able to stream to a level that would allow Louis to match artists who receive massive streaming support from casual fans and the general public. That means Louis and those around him focusing on actually promoting him and his music rather than other bands and artists, as he often does in interviews and on social media, and what they did with that F1 playlist which didn’t include any his own damn songs until days later.
None of those things are happening.
Fans are also endlessly exhausted by Louis’ team’s incompetence, which means they love and support Louis and want him to excel, but feel helpless to make a real difference when his own label and management seem to be failing at every turn. Bitterness, disappointment, frustration, and exhaustion are all disastrous emotions for a fanbase to be feeling a few weeks after a song release and less than two months from the album release.
Louis’ numbers are not because he has amazing promo and just isn’t clicking with the public. Louis’ numbers are because after years of sabotage in the industry by Sony and those associated with it, he needs a team with the gumption, creativity, intelligence, and determination to put in the work that’s needed to get his music out there and improve his image. At least from what we’ve seen so far, Louis’ team is not up for that challenge.

Production is underway in the UK on Joy, a Netflix feature based on the true story of the world’s first in vitro fertilisation baby, starring Thomasin McKenzie, Bill Nighy and James Norton.
The film is directed by the UK’s Ben Taylor, who has previously directed episodes of Netflix’s Sex Education, with a script by Bafta-winning writer Jack Thorne who co-created the story with his wife Rachel Mason.
Tumblr media
Spanning from 1968 to 1978, the film will follow three trailblazers facing opposition from the church, state, media and medical establishment, in their pursuit of the world’s first ‘test tube baby’, Louise Joy Brown. The three figures are a young nurse, a visionary scientist and an innovative surgeon, played by McKenzie, Norton and Nighy respectively.
“I am a lifelong Jack Thorne fan, and it has been such a thrill to work with him and Rachel on my first feature film,” said Taylor. “As the proud father to two boys only made possible by IVF, this is a story extremely close to my heart. It’s an honour to bring to life the journey of this heroic trio, whose world-changing work was only achieved in the face of unimaginable opposition. Thomasin, James and Bill – together with the rest of the cast – are an embarrassment of riches. I’m delighted that Pathe, Wildgaze and Netflix entrusted me with this brilliant story.”
“It took Rachel and I seven rounds of IVF to have Elliott, so when the opportunity came to tell the story of the pioneers, I jumped at the chance and suggested Rachel might like to jump too,” added Thorne. “The more we discovered, the more amazed we were, at the audacity of the science and the lack of support from the scientific community. It is an incredible story. Working on this with our incredible cast, wonderful director Ben and the brilliant producers at Wildgaze, Pathe and Netflix has been a joy.”

Omid's writing a book on the BRF titled "End game" when it is more apt to use it on Harry and Meghan. I checked the UK Republican accounts and the support they're getting post Spare didn't even increase 😂
You know she gave him the title right? Just like she told him to name the first one Finding Freedom.
They lost the UK republicans for talking out of both sides of their mouths and walking back their ace card i.e. the race card. Harry is now saying that the BRF is not racist and that he still believes in the Monarchy, therefore he is no longer of any use to the likes of Graham Norton (ETA I might have the name wrong) and the UK republicans.

The thing with Louis is that, he has no radio play. The only times his songs get played are when fans request them. Why is it like that? The bands that support him have radio plays and they are way more Indie than he is, one of them is like proper punk. When his album reached number 1 in the UK, bbc (jack Saunders) made the customary phone call, where louis tells him that he got that without radio support and it is thanks only to his fans. Guess what, they edited this part out before putting it on YouTube. Why would they do that? When his first single was released, and there was no radio play, some of his fans from the UK wrote a written complaint to the officials in BBC and the song was added to the c playlist, which they play at 2am. Even that they wouldn't do for more than a week. There was a q&a he did two weeks ago in London, where he again talked about the lack of radio play.
He cannot reach new audiences without that. He is the only one from ot4 who hasn't played bbc live launge or similar stuff. The next thing he can do is play festivals. Again he himself said that he doesn't get invitations to festivals. It is evident that he can pull in a crowd, then why wouldn't he get booked? He made a festival by himself and even that would hardly get any media coverage.
His number 1 album got four mainstream reviews that qualify for a meta critic score, just four. Out of which one is by an ex larrie, who wants to impregnate harry styles and fuck Zayn. He went private on twitter now. He has been abusing louis on twitter since 2017. Again if there is no review, good or bad, no new audience. Bruce Springsteen's album was released the day louis' album was released. This guy from official charts tweeted about the extreme level of promotion Springsteen has been doing and mentioned Columbia and one direction and BMG. Louis's uk promo was near to non-existent. No Graham norton, no tv performance, nothing. Again no new audience. All of this cannot be a coincidence. I hope Harry is not at least directly complicit in this( but I also hoped he had nothing to do with that whole euphoria mess, which he clearly had) . Sony 100% has involvement in this. Do the Azoffs have? I don't know, there is nothing to implicate them directly. But as you have mentioned they have a clear history of sabotaging artists. Afterall louis and harry share a fanbase. Larries like to tell that all this is happening because he left syco music. That is not true. This has been happening since his second single with bebe Rexa came out. At that time in 2017, there was this twitter conversation between her team and some rj's, where the rj's mention the lack of effort from his label's part as the reason for it not going viral. His next single just like you(which also mentions the Sony- George Michaels clash in the visuals). Was pulled off the radio within a week. And it has been like that ever since. He teased an album and world tour for 2018, instead he became a judge in x-factor. He said that he could not get people to write with him( even though he is the one with the most writing credentials in 1d), he said recently in Zach zang show that he contemplated leaking his album walls because it was going nowhere. He isn't even invited to events or after parties, since 2017. Absolute blacklisting!
Then there are larries, the bane of his existence. They have been writing essays on why he shouldn't be let to grow as an artist for the past many years, especially for the past two months. Spoiler alert: their theory is that louis is forced to make music, his life ambition is to get inside a suitcase and travel alongside harry styles and be a good loving house husband. Apparently he broke his arm, to not promote his album and go visit harry who had the flu. Now a large chunk of them are boycotting him, because he celebrated his birthday with his son. Some of these buffoons are cis white women who are senior citizens.
I am actually quite surprised that he got to make two albums. Honestly didn't expect even that.
Sorry didn't realise it became this long.
it's just that music is a gamble, and sometimes popular musicians don't even get the steam they need, and really talented ones are overlooked entirely. so it's hard to say well it's all because they're being blacklisted or whatever. it's just not a set in stone industry.
i have to say that with radio everybody knows it is a payola industry. it's pay to play. i've always assumed that because louis has real genuine convictions about pay to play and the machinations of the industry, that he's just never been willing to pay to get his music on the air. that he wants the success of his music to be organic and real, not a playlist payola or a radio payola scheme like harry styles.
with the other things like festivals and reviews, i've felt that's because the industry has decided because he's a former one d member, and because harry styles and maybe niall horan are the only ones you're "allowed" to like from one d, that they don't do these things for him. niall does more radio friendly music. louis doesn't and he knows that he doesn't. louis is trying to break into an area of music that is pretty tough because rock/indie music is very gatekeepy, so they don't want former boybanders to show up, as they think it's uncool. we've seen this already in random bands try and make fun of him. he has to really work hard to break into that scene.
we also know how the industry is all about connections. harry has masses of them, and they all cater to him. rolling stone interviews, vogue, another man, auditions to every movie in the world, MET gala, even louis has basically spoken about that. louis could try and spend his time in hollywood trying to schmooze people, but that isn't him. is louis willing to literally become a family member to some random powerful member of the industry just to get a career? do people think louis would be happy like that?
and while i also think showing up to events is something that would boost his profile, again these are things that louis has always said he's not interested in. he's always hated these PR event things, he even hated when in one d. they're very fake and everybody's posing and being full of it, it's exactly where louis would hate to be.
maybe i'm wrong about things. i can think of good promo ideas that don't involve these types of machinations. doing charity work, being seen at local charities or music for like impoverished kids type things, doing low key cheap gigs at small places, learning an instrument or showing how far along on the guitar he is.
personally, i would also change louis's sense of fashion, i think it's just boring to me to see a guy in hoodies onstage. but again, louis thinks wearing that stuff is authentic because it's him. but i personally think it's cool and fun for a musician to have a bit of flair and fun with fashion onstage, of course not clown costumes and maybe he has PTSD from thinking if you dress onstage you gotta dress like a clown like harry, but just something a bit fun. i remember the clash used to talk about how nobody would show up to a gig if you looked like shit, you had to dress cool in a way other dudes want to dress, i do think that does create a coolness and appeal and would be fun.

Helena Bonham Carter says it’s “horrendous” to speak out against JK Rowling’s transphobia
Helena Bonham Carter, the actress who played the dark sorceress Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter film series, defended the book series’ author JK Rowling amid criticism of her anti-trans views. Carter told The Times UK that the public pushback against Rowling’s transphobia is “horrendous,” and “a load of bollocks.” Rowling has claimed that trans rights threaten the sexual and mental well-being of cisgender women and that transgender advocates are persuading young people to medically transition. Neither assertion is backed by data. “She’s allowed her opinion, particularly if she’s suffered abuse,” Carter told the aforementioned publication, referencing Rowling’s past admissions of experiencing sexual assault and domestic abuse. “Everybody carries their own history of trauma and forms their opinions from that trauma and you have to respect where people come from and their pain,” Carter said. “You don’t all have to agree on everything — that would be insane and boring. She’s not meaning it aggressively, she’s just saying something out of her own experience.” “You can’t ban people. I hate cancel culture,” Carter added. “It’s been taken to the extreme, the judgementalism of people… It has become quite hysterical and there’s a kind of witch hunt and a lack of understanding.” When asked about Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and other Harry Potter film stars who have publicly spoken against Rowling’s views, Carter said, “Personally I feel they should let her have her opinions, but I think they’re very aware of protecting their own fan base and their generation.” Rowling first expressed anti-trans views in 2019 by tweeting her support for an anti-transgender activist. Since then, she hasn’t stopped attacking transgender people. She regularly spreads fearmongering misinformation about how trans women would potentially commit assaults if allowed in women’s restrooms, has written long essays denigrating trans women, repeats baseless conspiracy theories about kids being coerced into transitioning, and promotes transphobic merchandise vendors on social media. Although Carter said that Rowling doesn’t mean her transphobia “aggressively,” she has called a politician who supports trans rights a “destroyer of women’s rights” and her words have been used to kill pro-transgender legislation in the United States. Her supporters have also hounded gay comedian Graham Norton and three transgender equality activists off of social media for denouncing her views. Rowling has said that she’s too rich to care about alienating her fans. The Fantastic Beasts film series based on her books reportedly ended because of her anti-trans views. During her interview with the Times, Carter also defended actor Johnny Depp over domestic abuse allegations he has faced. She said Depp was “completely vindicated” after a public defamation trial involving his former romantic partner Amber Heard. Depp is a frequent co-star of Carter’s and also the godfather to her children. http://dlvr.it/SdWQjC

2014 - final
originally posted 5/29/20
Germany I've always found Is It Right a solidly unpleasant song. I'm not fond of the musical style they're using (polka, maybe?), and Ela's voice is just... she doesn't seem to have much control over it. Beyond that, the staging is sparse, the other two band members look incredibly out of place onstage, and Ela's outfit confuses the heck out of me. France As much of a trip as this one is, I really enjoy it. It's lighthearted and fun... even though it's at times atrocious to look at. I don't usually like songs I can't take seriously, but there's something so excited about this one. I think that this entry (along with the Latvian and Greek ones) are products of Alcohol is Free from the year before... just a bunch of free, unconstrained fun times on the stage. Idk I just really like the chorus of this. Italy The live performance really brings this song to life. Emma's live vocals might not be as strong or supported as some of the other contestants, but she's rocking out all over the stage, working an attitude that perfectly meshes with the rock vibes of the song. I guess I have some questions for whoever thought white and gold faux-Roman stage outfits were a good idea but honestly, I don't hate it, I just feel like it wasn't as effective as another choice might have been. La Mia Citta is a really fun song, great to rock out to, just as Emma does onstage. Spain This has to be one of my favorite recent Spanish entries. Ruth Lorenzo's power vocals really hit during the bridge, it's a good song, and the staging here... there were times where it actually looked like it was raining on stage. Pretty incredible, and a shame that Spain has lost this touch in recent years. Miki and Barei are nice and all, but when will Spain send a song like this again? Denmark The Danish Bruno Mars has come to Eurovision! Cliche Love Song is delightfully tongue-in-cheek for the usually ultra-serious host entries. It's a really great song but sadly Basim's live performance doesn't do anything for me. Like, it's solidly just alright. There's nothing especially bad about the staging, I just feel that Basim doesn't pull it off well. United Kingdom File under: songs that technically aren't about socialism but are, like, totally about socialism. The "power to the people" bit is so catchy, and so telling once you know what you're looking for! Yeah, so this is a great song and Molly is performing the hell out of it, but there were aspects of the live performance that just seemed a bit off. Molly's stage outfit and the henna she had on, the asymmetrical prechoruses, parts of the staging... this was actually really strong for a UK entry but it definitely could have been executed a lot better. My top 37

How did Switzerland get all the way up there... what... This is, I think, the first top ten of the one posted here that doesn't include a song left in the semis? 2014 was a really strong year musically for the most part so I enjoy a lot of the songs, even those I ranked in the 20s. Voting/intervals The section thanking the commentators was really funny because, firstly, Graham Norton is always hilarious to hear, but also the German commentator Peter Urban totally didn't know that the fireworks were coming and was so surprised he started swearing a blue streak. I love that. The political implications of that Ode to Joy performance... I read a paper once about how Ode to Joy is basically the unofficial national anthem of Europe/the EU and so it was interesting to see Denmark literally throw it in with their hosting like yeah, all y'all are European, yes even you Israel and the Caucasus nations. The 12 points song was cute. While I found Pilou's China references funny I do wonder if it was a little bit... not to taste. Although the hosts seem to acknowledge this with Nikolaj telling him to shut up and later telling him that not all of the things he named were actually Chinese. Between this and the other skits where Pilou features I'm pretty sure he's the planned gagman to make fun of things like "the host city has to be perfect!" and the whole Eurovision museum sketch... yeah so this was planned and was probably a very tongue-in-cheek joke about the globalization of the contest and whatnot but it just came off kind of wrong. I also caught a shot of the JESC girl from Malta hanging out with the Maltese delegation... that was so cute... I love love love the idea of having all the finalists perform Rainmaker with Emmelie. I really enjoyed seeing the contestants jamming out all together, and you could even see who were friends - I noticed, for example, the singer from Iceland and one of the guys from France dancing together. Much love to the Tolmachevy twins, girlies stayed positive all through the voting even though they were getting booed left and right. And they were only 17 too. Honestly, one of my goals in life is to be one of the cool spokespeople who greets in the language of the host country, and not just hello either, delivering like full-on sentences. They're icons. I CANNOT with the Finnish guy who, when asked to present his points, just started full on rapping, entirely unrelated to ESC, and got Pilou and Nikolaj to dance along. Thoughts after watching 2014 has another of my absolute favorite stage designs. I really love the hosts (even if Pilou's gags sometimes go too far) and the postcard concept this year was really innovative. Like 2015, again, this was a high-quality year in terms of song composition - 2013-2015 were really solid Eurovision years, I think.

'The 2024 BAFTA nominations were announced last week and one of the biggest contenders with six awards was Andrew Haig's All Of Us Strangers. The film stars Normal People's Paul Mescal and Fleabag's (Hot Priest) Andrew Scott and has been put in the running for Outstanding British Film, as well as Best Supporting Actor for Paul Mescal.
It has already caused a buzz on the awards circuit already with Paul taking home the award for Best Actor (Drama) at the Golden Globes. The BAFTA nominations mean the film has been listed for more awards than two of the most talked-about movies of last year, Barbie and Saltburn - cementing it as one of the ones to watch in 2024.
Part ghost story, part drama, part romance, All Of Us Strangers is one of the more unique films in the running this awards season. This is everything you need to know about the film that's captured the attention of critics and viewers alike.
What is All Of Us Strangers about?
The film is a loose adaptation of Strangers, the 1987 novel by Taichi Yamada, which follows the inner turmoil of the central protagonist after he meets a man who looks like his dead father. All of Us Strangers centres on Adam, a reclusive screenwriter whose day-to-day life revolves around watching re-runs, takeaways and a lot of screen time. By a seemingly chance meeting, he meets Harry, who encourages him to open up about his childhood and his long-deceased parents.
With Harry's encouragement, Adam travels back to his childhood home in the suburbs and is confronted by his parents (played by Jamie Bell and Claire Foy) who are full of questions about their now grown-up child.
The two central characters straddle a line between love and friendship, providing some connection in what is otherwise a very solitary existence. Paul recently reflected on the debate around a straight man playing a gay man, he told The Sunday Times: "It depends who's in charge of telling the story. The issue is that there have been so many queer performances in cinema that have been offensive. But that's because the filmmakers and the actors have been careless. I don’t think this film exists in that conversation whatsoever. And that's it."
It's safe to say that the film has some steamy scenes as the sexual connection between Adam and Harry intensifies. When asked on The Graham Norton Show whether their families had seen the film yet, Paul replied: "With the Irish premiere, trying to allocate tickets to all the aunties and uncles is a tricky business. They have seen my bum before but there is a little more going on in this movie I would say!" This was followed by an admission from Andrew: "I don't want to be there when my parents watch it!"
How can I watch All of Us Strangers?
...The movie currently has an exclusive theatrical release, meaning we won't be seeing it pop up on streaming services any time soon. However, once the film has finished its run in cinemas it will be available to watch on Disney+ in the UK and on Hulu in the US, according to reporting from Digital Spy.
Is there a trailer for All Of Us Strangers?
Yes, there's a trailer for All of Us Strangers...
The response from viewers has been extremely positive, with one commenting underneath the trailer: "This is one of those rare movies that makes you feel like you're stepping into an entirely formed and real world that you didn't know you needed to visit until you got there."
Another fan said of the film: "The kinda movie where that you get back from seeing in the cinema and come home immediately to watch the trailer twice over, just to feel a small sense of the scenes again. I’m just really grateful for my parents and all strangers in all walks of life."'

One of Britain's finest actors James Norton is on the cover of Soho House Magazine #2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He played villain Tommy Lee Royce in Happy Valley, picking up a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Reversely, played a mournful prince in the BBC’s adaptation of War & Peace then played a crime-solving vicar for four series of Grantchester on ITV. In 2018, Norton played Alex Godman, the son of a Russian mafia boss escaping a life of organised crime, in McMafia.
Tumblr media
In 2023, James Norton will play Jude in the stage adaptation of Hanya Yanagihara's controversial bestseller A Little Life. Ivo van Hove directs Norton, at the Harold Pinter Theatre, a superb piece of theatre.
Tumblr media
Norton plays A Little Life's protagonist Jude - a character who self-harms after suffering unrelenting abuse as a child. He gives a truly titanic performance as New York lawyer, Jude St. Francis from childhood to deep middle age. The story is indefensibly horrible, but there’s no denying the brilliance of James Norton’s performance. 🎭

UK Troops Awarded for Kosovo NATO Mission
Tumblr media
Honouring Bravery
UK Troops Recognized for Kosovo Mission The UK Defence Secretary, Grant Shapps, in a gesture of profound respect and appreciation, presented hundreds of personnel from the 1st Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (1 PWRR) with Operational Service Medals. This significant event celebrated their immense contributions to the NATO peacekeeping operations in Kosovo.   A Milestone in NATO Operations This year is especially notable, marking the 25th anniversary of the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. The medal parade, held at the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, was not just a ceremony but a testament to the enduring commitment of British forces in international peacekeeping efforts. Defence Secretary Grant Shapps, addressing the 'Tigers' of 1 PWRR, highlighted their exceptional role in the NATO mission. "Our brave men and women have shown extraordinary dedication and professionalism. Their efforts in Kosovo reflect the UK's commitment as a leading member of NATO," he stated.   Key Milestone: 25 Years of Peacekeeping 2024 is a landmark year for NATO and the UK's role within it. The UK is gearing up for 'Steadfast Defender', a large-scale exercise while celebrating 75 years of NATO and the 25th anniversary of its peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.   Rapid Deployment and Strategic Success The UK's responsiveness was evident when approximately 200 soldiers from 1 PWRR were deployed to Kosovo in October 2023, joining the existing British contingent. This rapid deployment showcased the UK's capability to support international peacekeeping swiftly and effectively. The soldiers, transported from RAF Brize Norton and accompanied by over 117 vehicles, displayed exemplary efficiency and coordination. Their eight-hour convoy through challenging terrain underlined the UK's commitment to ensuring stability in the region.   On the Ground: Impact Beyond Military Operations Beyond their military duties, the UK troops played a significant role in community engagement. A noteworthy incident involved clearing a snake infestation at a local school, significantly improving safety for the children.   Returning Home: A Time for Reflection After a demanding deployment, the battalion returned to the UK in mid-December, receiving a well-deserved break over the Christmas period. This homecoming was not just a physical return but also an opportunity for reflection on the impact and importance of their mission.
Looking Forward: The UK's Ongoing Commitment
As Defence Secretary Shapps aptly summed up, "The UK remains a steadfast ally in NATO, ready to support peace and stability wherever needed." This ceremony was more than a medal presentation; it was a reaffirmation of the UK's ongoing commitment to international peace and security. The UK's role in the Kosovo NATO peacekeeping mission is a shining example of its dedication to global stability. The bravery and professionalism of the troops from the 1st Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment not only deserve our gratitude but also our respect and admiration.   Sources: THX News, Ministry of Defence & The Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP. paragraph i
And so the album’s recording is finished, and we find ourselves back in the UK, for the most part. Neil and Tom have stayed on in Figueres and Barcelona for a couple of days to see the sights and cleanse their minds, but the rest of us flew back from Girona, to Bristol airport this morning. A simple, successful journey, marred only by the ever dependable RyanAir charging us an extra 35 Euros for carriage of Harriet’s violin.
paragraph ii
It’s a weird thing, completing an album. I’m now back in sunny (no really, sunnier than Spain) Midsomer Norton, and led on my bed, listening to rough mixes of our new songs and trying to decide which novel to start reading next. A month ago I was in this same spot, having written barely a single lyric and feeling like the world was going to end. I find writing a very therapeutic thing. I’ve always left writing lyrics until the last minute. If I ever sit down and attempt to write a song when I don’t ‘have to’, I feel incredibly pretentious and aware of myself. I want the urge/necessity to write to control me, rather than me attempting to control it.
paragraph iii
It’s fair to say we are all proud and excited with the results of our last month’s endeavours.  I can honestly say the band has never been as close knit and united as we are right now, and I have never enjoyed my band mates’ company (and John Goodmanson of course) as much as this. I think this, our fourth  album, is going to display the confidence we now have, and we’re pretty much willing to take on the world.
paragraph iv
It’s an appropriate time to thank Turnstile Music and Wichita Recordings for the support they continue to show us. I think there is a misjudgment amongst a lot of music fans, perhaps a lot of you reading this, that indie label = good, major label = bad. But it’s a lot less black and white than that. These are not good labels because they’re independent, but because they are good people. Good people with integrity and who appreciate their acts, as musicians, and as friends. We go into the studio knowing they have the faith in our ability and creative vision to create something special. I’ve friends signed to indie labels who don’t have that. Who’ve been sent back to the studio to try something different, or been told their work’s not up to scratch. That’s no way to create any sort of art, and knowing that Turnstile and Wichita, Alun and Mark, are always going to be on our side, makes us a better band than we would be otherwise.
paragraph v
Inevitably, questions now start to be asked re: album release date/details/title/artwork, etc. All I can say on this is “please be patient”. We’ve still to mix the record, master it, do artwork, decide on final tracklisting (we’ve recorded more songs than we think we need). I assure you the record will be with you this year though. In the meantime, we knuckle down with Heat Rash #2.  We’ve already got some great stuff sorted for it.
paragraph vi
And me, well, I feel a bit empty now I’ve got all this stuff off of my chest and onto record. I’m gonna be waiting for the u21 Championships and Copa America. I’m gonna read a million books, save some money, start rewatching the Office US from the start, kiss some girls, try to start a club night in Bath and become a tumblr sensation.
paragraph vii
I am so proud to be in a band with Tom, Neil, Ellen, Rob, Jason, Harriet and Kim. I feel ten times stronger when I’m with them. This is our best album so far, on every level. I can’t wait for you to hear it.
