True! Sometimes it’s on purpose (she wants to make the other person flinch), sometimes it’s on accident (dragons place a lot of significance on eyes, so she tends to focus on those first if she’s trying to figure someone out)

A little bit! I think he tends to crave particular flavors too, like things that are tart and bitter as well as sweet (dark chocolate + orange is a favorite of his)

Eir: true, especially after living with long hair for so long, she’s enjoying looking hot with less maintenance

Finch: god probably true, though mostly in the sense that he owns one or two but keeps forgetting or not bothering to actually put the whole get-up on for other people

You got Finch in one though. I promise it’s mostly because he’s genuinely flexible and easygoing and only a little bit because he is also a perfect doormat who would rather perish than bring it up

what was his childhood like?? family, day-to-day life, any hopes and dreams he might’ve had as a kid?

I take a very deep breath lmao

Finch was born in Doma at around the time the kingdom fell. He’s from an old military family, and his parents stayed active in the resistance, entrusting Finch to relatives and family friends in an effort to keep him out of it. He saw them rarely, and moved around often

All this to say his childhood was uh. Wildly unstable

It wasn’t all (or even mostly) bad. He got to travel all over and even beyond Doma, got to meet new people, see new things. But he was still living in a war zone, and hardship and violence were an unavoidable part of his life

All of this did end up fueling a genuine love of travel, which he’s kinda never stopped doing. And I think he also became aware pretty early on of how often he survived because of the kindness of strangers, and aspired to pay that kindness forward

Apparently the problem with me not sharing much Finch lore is that now you get it all at once. Thank you for your time
