Yesterday was Halloween, and I hope everyone had a lot of fun.

But, if you read my Frighteners stories, you know that yesterday was also the twenty-third birthday of Frank and Lucy's oldest daughter, Julia.

She had an amazing birthday, which her husband Connor and two-year-old son Ezra, made extra special. She and Connor dressed as Barbie and Oppenheimer (only for Julia to learn that her sister, Maddie, was also dressed as Barbie), while Ezra was dressed as a kitten.

Frightober Day 4 - Motherhood

I just love Mom!Lucy so much that I needed to tackle this prompt.

Lucy is about six months pregnant with the twins; however, she and everyone else don't know that there's more than one baby. This may or may not be featured in a future fic taking place during this particular pregnancy.

Lucy kissed the top of Seth's forehead as the now-four-year-old nestled closer into her. He had been disheartened that he couldn't really sit on her lap for awhile, but he seemed content to cuddle in this way. Julia was on her other side, looking like she was on the verge of falling asleep.

Lucy herself was feeling very tired, and would have dozed off herself if it weren't for the sudden flutters that she was feeling in her belly. She smiled with recognition as she looked down at her swollen and round stomach, moving her hand across Seth and onto her middle.

"Guess you're wide awake, peanut," she whispered, not wanting to disturb Julia and Seth.

"Who're you talking to, Mommy?" Seth mumbled.

"I'm talking to the baby, Cub," Lucy answered. "She's kicking."

Julia seemed to find some renewed energy and lifted herself up. "The baby's moving?"

"She is, Jules," Lucy confirmed. "You wanna feel?"

Julia put her hand on Lucy's belly without another word.

"No, not there..." Lucy told her, moving her hand a little bit to the left. "Right here."

Julia waited for a few seconds before she felt something jab at her hand from under her mother's skin. Her eyes widened and looked up at her mother with a delighted smile.

"She kicked, Mommy!" Julia exclaimed.

She leaned back down towards her mother's belly.

"Hi, baby," she whispered. "Hi! Seth, our baby sister just kicked."

Seth looked at his older sister, then up at his mother in confusion.

"Cub, that was your baby sister kicking in my tummy," Lucy told him. "You want to feel? See if she'll kick for you?"

Seth warily eyed this mother's stomach before nodding. "Uh-huh."

Lucy took his little hand and put it on the same spot on her stomach. "Let's see if we can feel a little something..."

Suddenly, the baby gave a good, hard kick that made Lucy laugh from the surprise. Seth's eyes widened and his mouth formed an O. His expression made both Lucy and Julia laughed.

"That's baby sissy?" Seth asked.

"Yeah, that's baby sissy," Lucy affirmed.

The baby kicked again, as if she knew that she was being recognized. Seth then lifted up Lucy's shirt and laid his cheek against her belly.

"Hi, baby sissy," he said. "I love you."

The baby kicked yet again, and Seth giggled. Lucy ran her fingers through his curls and leaned back against the couch. She heard the door unlock and begin to open, and turned back to see Frank coming side.

"DADDY! Julia jumped up from the couch and ran towards Frank, who caught her in his arms and lifted her into a hug.

"Oh, Julie-girl, I missed you, today," he said, keeping her on his hip as he walked towards the couch, greeting his wife with a kiss. "Hey, Luce."

"Hey, how was your day?" Lucy asked.

"Better, now that I'm home," Frank answered with a tired smile, looking at his son. "Hey, Cub, what're you doin' right now?"

"Just talking to baby sissy," Seth answered. "She moved."

"She did?" Frank asked as if he hadn't felt the baby kick before. "Is it okay if I feel?"

"If Mommy says it's okay," Seth said seriously.

"That's right, Seth," Lucy praised. "And yes, you can, Frank."

Frank let Julia sit back down on the couch, and laid his hand on Lucy's belly. He grinned as he felt the baby kick under his touch.

"Hi, baby," he greeted. "You talking with your big brother?"

The baby kicked in response, earning a smile from her parents and her siblings.

Happy 22nd Birthday To Julia Hope Bannister

So, today not only marks Halloween, but it also marks the twenty-second birthday of Frank and Lucy’s oldest child, Julia Hope Bannister.

It took me a while, but I thought that the girl who played Ciara Brady on Days was the perfect choice to “play” her. She looks like the perfect combo of Michael J. Fox and Trini Alvarado (just pretend that her eyes are blue like MJF instead of green like Trini’s-- either way, she’s gorgeous).

At this point, Julia is engaged to Connor Blake, and they had their first child-- a boy named Ezra Franklin-- on February 16, 2021. They live in a townhouse in between the suburban and metro parts of Fairwater, but they’re planning to purchase a house in time for their wedding in December of this year.

Julia is attending classes at Fairwater Community College to become an art teacher at the elementary school. She graduated back in May with her bachelor’s degree, and is currently studying for her master’s.

Lucy rested her head on Frank's shoulder, taking in the scenery around them as they drove on. He had rolled down the windows so that the both of them could take in the fresh air after spending five days in the medical center. She looked in the rear view mirror at the car seat that was turned to face the back.

She let her hand drift down over her belly, stopping it before it could touch the bandage that covered up the stitches. She sighed mournfully as she thought about the surgery.

Even compared to the terror of Julia's birth, this had been the scariest experience that she and Frank had with childbirth.

Despite her doctor's brain telling her how c-sections and hysterectomies happened everyday, she was afraid that she might not wake up. That she might not get to go home with Frank and this baby, and to their older children.

And, of course, there was the sense of grief that she wouldn't be able to have any more children. But, when she had learned that she was pregnant this time around, one of the thoughts that had been there from the beginning was that she was closer to fifty and than forty. Libby was going to be their last baby anyway.

So why did it hurt so much?

"I know I've said this ad nauseam for the last few days, but I can't wait to get home," she suddenly said quietly.

Frank smiled, kissing the top of her head. "Me, too."

"A part of me is afraid that the kids forgot us," she told him.

"How could they, Luce?" he asked. "They visited us everyday after school, and we called them before school and before bed."

Lucy sighed. "I know. I guess I'm still a little worried for when the excitement of a new baby wears off of them."

"I don't know-- our kids aren't really the jealous type," Frank said. "I mean, they might have little fits when they can't get what they want, but you know how much they love each other. And you saw how much they already love Libby in the hospital."

Lucy smiled up at him. "You're right."

As they pulled up to the house, they saw all of the kids, accompanied by Scarlett, Dean, and Mina, on the front yard. Both Mina and Julia had one of the twins on their lap, but all of them stood and jumped with joy as they saw the car pulling up. Frank and Lucy looked out the window, seeing pink balloons saying "It's A Girl!" and a pink and blue banner spelling out "Welcome Home, Libby!"

"MOM! YOU'RE HOME!" Julia cried out excitedly, running to the car once it was in park.

Frank and Lucy exited the car, with Frank going to take Libby and Lucy embracing her daughter as best as she could with her stitches and bandage.

"Oh, I missed you, Jules," Lucy murmured into her daughter's raven hair.

Seth, Maddie, and Adrian ran up to join their big sister, almost knocking Lucy over.

"Remember what Aunt Thea and Daddy said?" Julia scolded. "We need to be gentle--"

"No, Julia, it's okay," Lucy assured her. "It's okay."

Frank came back from around the car as Scarlett, Dean, and Mina came up to them. He held the carrier up so that everyone could get a better look at the newborn baby.

"Hi, Libby," Julia knelt down. "Hi."

So, this post counts as a spoiler for my Altered Perceptions ‘verse, as I haven’t posted anything regarding them yet...

Today-- December 9th, 2022-- marks the day that Frank and Lucy Bannister’s eldest daughter, Julia, and Connor Blake marry. By this point, they already have a son, Ezra Franklin Bannister (born February 16, 2021).

(I know Robert Scott Wilson looks nothing like Connor’s face claim, but I just liked the general vibe of the last GIF)

You’ll see them meet when the first chapter of Lovers Losing Hope is posted on AO3 on February 11, 2023!
