Unfinished ODDTAXI Business

When ODDTAXI ended back in 2021, there were speculations that the girl in the clinic was supposed to be Ichimura.

I had to disagree:

Now that ODDTAXI: In the Woods is finally out, we can all finally see what Ichimura actually looks like: *drum roll*

Ta-da!

And to be absolutely sure that it’s her...

1) She’s explicitly named in the newspaper as an ex-member of Mystery Kiss:

so i know that the two girls are from the club Imai works at and iirc the bunny girl specifically is the girl Kabasawa sleeps with, and the mole guy is Tanaka's old classmate... but i don't understand what the meaning of all three of them in this scene was

edit: okay i went back and the mole guy mentions “getting to Taeko” and iirc she has a big part in the audio drama so im pretty sure it’s related to that? are they her informants?

The movie ODDTAXI In The Woods was just officially announced for release on April 1st 2022!!

I believe it is an adaptation/reimagining?? of ODDTAXI that will also depict events following the final episode. All of the main voice cast is back to work on it, and the original scriptwriter as well as the director/character designer are continuing their roles. Will also be animated by the same studio as before

Promotional art of the movie depicts Odokawa in an interrogation room, and the teaser has Odokawa referencing the events of the final episode in the past tense, as if much has happened since…definitely lots of mystery surrounding it!

I watched Oddtaxi: In The Woods last night and it was great! It’s almost entirely a recap, but the nature of Oddtaxi keeps that from being a detriment because of the added context you have from having watched the show and knowing all the twists. As such i do NOT recommend watching it in place of the show, but seeing as the show is 13 episodes that’s not a lot to ask. Id also recommend taking a little break before watching the movie so the recap parts don’t burn you out, but do check it out because the new content is worth it!
