for real, it's so funny how he's all like, I know you poor poor shippers will be devastated once I present you with the greatest romance since Shakespeare but alas, canon is what I dictate and you must get over it. because like. i would have got over that just fine. i did get over that just fine, and almost immediately. so you gave me a story that i mostly didn't like, and a relationship i thought was awful, but that's fine! this is star wars, my dude, this happens all the time!!! I understand that shipping is a fun fake thing that's not the main point of storytelling, and I can do whatever the fuck I want with canon in my own time, and so can Tony Gilroy. It's fine.

what i can't get over is the smugness and condescension, all while refusing to engage with any meaningful talking points like what, if anything, they were trying to say with their show. or why the story they were pushing diminishes women to interchangeable, helpless functions in men's narratives and kills pocs without any of the compunction it awards its white characters. like can this man either talk about the art he made instead of making up fake people in his head to get mad at, or just shut up?

or can i at least develop the self-restraint not to click on anything anymore. i'm tired.
