Hey! I always hear a lot of really terrible things, so I thought that I should spread some of the things that can be good if implemented. Osorb is this thing that can take oil and certain chemicals from water- described in this video- and the Prickly Pear Cactus- described in this video- can purify (toxic) water; I have no idea if this is being used, it WAS made in 2012, but it is really smart and cool- using the ocean to clean the ocean like what. There are new ways they’re thinking of generating electricity: here is electricity made from bacteria and here is energy from waste water. There are many old articles and videos describing how kinetic energy could be used in roads to generate electricity for the lights, and that the kinetic energy waves generated could be “harvested” as well. There are places that use that, now, actually.(Here is an article on it.) This talks about using dirt to make energy by getting Thorium out of it. Here are some things on reducing/cleaning air pollution: this is taking air pollution and making it into electricity; this says that light can be used to clean air pollution; this video was made in 2013, but it’s still fascinating to hear about how they’re using biotechnology/moss to track pollution.  Plastic is a big issue, so much so that France banned it. However, marijuana- or weed, or Hemp, whatever you want to call it- can fix this problem. (Here are a few articles on the many uses of Hemp: this is such a useful plant, banning it is only making matters worse ). There is also a new plastic that is so biodegradable that it will sprout into a plant after degrading, and it is made from shrimp shells. Because oil prices kept rising, people came up with using algae to make fuel. (Here is another video on it, as it is really interesting). Algae can be used to make quite a lot, but it is not economically beneficial, it seems, for it isn’t being used widely to make fuel just yet. If anyone has anything else that is interesting/important to add, please do. I love learning about things and spreading information. Also, if any of the things in one of the articles/videos are being implemented, please tell me?
