1. Obvi the main 4 kids from the books (Nick, Enzo, Trinity & Maritza) super super grew fond of them since book 2 and have made them basically my childhood version of a girl group from a cartoon show (think winx club). They really play off each other well, Trinity having this very lawful chaoticness with Maritza (also when Maritza tells Nick "Oh yeah we bribed the teen to like distract Ted for 5 bucks" that shit was SOOO FUNNY) and then ofc there is Enzo... Ough I have alot to say about Enzo, he truly turned me around and made me start loving like "The asshole frenimie" relationship he had with Nick and god does he and Nick steal the whole of book 2 with chapter 7 for me, and also just like the one thing I enjoy out of them is the fact despite how they can be investigating on Ted, they're still children and they're very flawed and likable like you don't have to take my word:

Carly Anne West (The Author) really characterizes them so well and just god I love these four

2. I don't see these two tend to get talked about it's really sad cause like I really love the two, Jen and Allie from the Bosco Bay Graphic Novel HUGE SPOILERS FOR HN BOSCO BAY

Something about the way Zac Gorman writes these two are so infatuating especially cause they were the FIRST to confront Ted about his negligence and willingness to hide about the disappearance of Joe (Jen's brother and Allie's cousin) also just off tell him girl:

3. Minor characters again from the books but in a way really needed uh.... (specifically) Luanne & Jay Roth and Miguel Esposito..... (Yes.... Nick's parents... And Maritza & Enzo's dad in the books their mom fucking oofed) I really love the breath of fresh air that is the adults seriously they are so fun and charming from Jay's sweet tooth that Nick has a whole list of every treat Jay will consume just on a thought, Luanne's literal grief that is her mom despite her anger when she found out her mom left Nick in a storage closet in the fucking SUPERMARKET WHEN HE WAS 4-3??? CHRIST???? Also literally Miguel is everything Theodore wished he was and told Jay off after saying Ted should be in a lawsuit after killing a 7 year old girl with his death machine rollercoasters (also he's a single father I love single fathers 🫶🫶🫶) they also really play off each other so well and honestly idk if I want to call them archetypes for parents who aren't aware of how their child feels cause like... You kinda get why they were so busy but they still care and will protect their respective kids and like ngl it really puts in perspective how Ted is kinda... A bad father in the books....

If I had to categorize then like... Here lol obviously yes Nick really holds a place in my heart (He's the reason I'm trans and I realize my own traumatic experience) but like seriously I LOVE to talk about the parents and Jen and Allie cause I feel I'm the only one who really love them

FFFFFFF okay, I'm not that good at angst, but let me give it a shot.

I feel like, for the most part, even when things don't go to plan, the team generally gets along pretty well. There are days when Rocky goes on about poetry too much, or where the Savoys throw a bit too much caution to the wind, but even them, everyone is still generally on good terms with each other. However, I feel like with Mordecai, especially when they first started as a team, there was quite a bit of tension.

In cannon, Mordecai is more or less just adjusting to working with the Savoys while also trying to solve Atlas' murder. But in this au, he has to deal with the Savoys, the rest of the lackadaisy crew, AND partially with keeping Lackadaisy itself above water. Not to mention, his world basically got tuned upside down when Viktor got injured and could no longer be his partner. His normal (the one man he felt somewhat understood him) has been ripped away, and he's been thrown into total chaos of a new team who are much more chaotic and unorganized than he's used to. That's ALOT for a guy to have on his shoulders, even for Mordecai, so he's definitely a bit more snappy in this au, mainly due to the stress of everything.

BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY OUGH sorry I just love my boy Mordecai, and I want him to have nice things :( and I totally get the stress and the weight on his shoulders. He's just the guy who needs the organization, and I get him completely.

Eventually it all gets too much and Mordecai snaps at the wrong person. He really didn't mean to (unless it's the Savoys lmfao) and now he just feels a smidge of guilt. He does NOT know how to manage these stress levels properly, and it's eating him up inside. In the end everyone is like "oh there is DEFINITELT something wrong with him" but they don't want to pry into it, for the fear of getting snapped at.

Also side rant: TW: vent-ish: this is why he is my comfort character, and how I see him as a brother-like figure in fictional senses. He's like the epitome of Gifted Kid Syndrome, and that's how I am too. I can understand being snappier than usual. That's how I was around two years ago, because my life was so disorganized, it was awful. Plus with me moving, getting used to new conditions WHILE trying to manage stress levels. It sucks, it's awful, and I still want it to be over with. I genuinely feel for him: and I even see a bit of me directly in him.

I remember reading older fanfictions about Helia/Trix friendships and I found their dynamic really interesting! I can’t find it anymore but there was a post about Helia befriending them in his first year (and most likely the Trix’s first year as well if I remember correctly they were seniors in season 1) as a little act of rebellion from Red Fountain.

I had this hc of Helia being friends with them and particularly close to Icy then having a fallout once he realises what they are up to. Maybe he found out or unknowingly helped them discover they were descendants of the Ancestral Witches, or alerted them about Stella’s scepter and out of guilt he quit rf and disappeared! Then he came back because he knew but he never said anything and it ended up almost causing the destruction of Magix.

I like the idea of Helia not telling anyone he knew the Trix personally then them finding out later on! The angst potentiall!! But then again I don’t think the Trix would keep quiet about it either!

AAGGHHH i've read fics like that too!! there was one a while back about like 14 year old helia meeting the trix and becoming friends with icy specifically! and then when he came back from art school, he couldn't believe they were the witches who destroyed everything. there may have been a scene with him going through the tunnels to cloud tower to confront them but i might be thinking about something else?

anyway! i love those fics :') icy/helia is such a guilty pleasure pairing of mine. he's such her type! just without the crazy murderous personality. plus i love the darcy/helia friendship dynamic as well (besties who judge together!!) and stormy/helia dynamics would be SO chaotic like she would stress him out so much. but i can also see stormy letting out her cute side around him more since he wouldn't judge her for that

AHH it's just so much fun - it's definitely one of my favorite helia fanon tropes.

tbh i don't think he would ever purposely help them or withhold information from rf, but i can see him wanting to believe they're still good and trying to get info on his own first/change their minds. the idea of helia helping them realize they're descendants of the ancestral witches is INSANE i love that!!

and yes! i feel like helia wouldn't want to tell anyone he was close to them or at the very least he would make it sound like they were barely acquaintances and not actual friends. saladin would probably know, but i can't imagine helia wanting to tell the specialists or winx. and a dramatic reveal later on is so good!! but at the same time, the trix would never let him live it down!! they'd immediately reveal that info once they know helia is back at rf Or friends with the main groups. like,, OUGH it's so hard to figure out how the reveal would go yknow?

LISTEN. I think Hunter fits very well to cosplay as Marceline and Willow as Bubblegum, although maybe they could cosplay the other way just for fun LMAO.

But like--subtly changing the topic lmao--in sense of history and some similarities between the characters, I think Hunter could relate to Marceline more, because that failed parental figure who happens to be your only family but manipulates you and uses you to be like him, so you escape and try to be something else. Snarky at the beginning, even kind of mean, but get friends with the human and their bestie/brother and yep ! It seems you're not like your father/uncle as you thought.

Also it warms my heart thinking about Simon and Marceline as Darius and Hunter... I Remember You Song... ough ough- Maybe the demon-vampire side of Marceline and Hunter being a grimwalker, both scared to be seen as monsters and to be hated. Also the grief arcs and dead... Hunter with Flapjack and Marceline with her mom *shaking and throwing up*

In the other side we have Willow as Bubblegum and that is mostly because personality and that repression arc we saw both of them having is different episodes ! It is funny to think about honestly because, just when both open up about pushing people away and accept they were suppressing their feelings (Willow in FTF and PB in Varmints) they realize they are in love with the bisexuals with abandonment issues PFFFT-

But putting aside the feelings, i think both Willow and PB share this nerd, morally questionable personality that makes you like them. I see Willow experimenting with plants and magic if she had a lab... I see PB playing grudgby because she is just competitive as hell and to protect her friends, I think PB and Willow would be a bomb together. Chaotic if you give them the power --they have it--.

Sweet Cap'n Cakes Fic Idea Rambles

I don't really have anyone to talk to about my ideas, so to Tumblr I go

I really enjoy ideas where Sweet Cap'n Cakes are actually portrayed doing something against Queen, even if Queen isn't fully aware of how her actions to maintain order are hurting people around her. Especially because she's a computer, things like irrationality, chaotic nature and the way that Sweet Cap'n Cakes act would certainly be something that she'd be opposed to. So why not try to fix that issue, why not do what she had already been doing with the werewires and simply,, throw a wire on?

I know this concept has already been done but MAN it just brings me so much brain worms that part of me really wants to make a fic on it!! Or draw it!! But my art just isn't good enough and my writing isn't either compared to so much amazing talent on this site that part of me already feels discouraged before I even start. Alas it's not much I can really do much about so I'm going to try my best to see if I can write this idea.

ough,, my apologies. I kind of want Cakes to be the one to get wired for multiple reasons. I guess the more practical reason is that they're honestly my favorite to write about and I have more experience writing for them. (Not only that but I basically see K_K as me so angst is extremely self indulgent.) I suppose in terms of writing, it makes sense that K_K would be the first one Queen would try to wire in terms of their position in the band! Despite not being the leader, they're the mediator of Sweet Cap'n Cakes. Sweet and Cap'n look up to them, so without K_K making sure that arguments don't get too heated and the two obviously being very stressed about their partner now suddenly being controlled, fights are bound to happen!

Imagine what would happen if the three were forced to fight each other! Or if Queen perhaps tried to wire one of the other two as well, or if somehow K_K's true self bubbled up to the surface again,, I need to shut up before I explode but god I love the funky robots so much <3

I AM new to writing on ao3!!! You are correct!!! I actually just made my account about a month or two ago! I actually attempted to post this on a website I made in the past, but 1: it didn’t get any traction and 2: I didn’t like my writing, this is actually the third iteration of this story! I am much more comfortable with my writing now than back then :3

Anywho, on to Kat ;3

You may recall on the post where I gave a brief rundown on each of my ocs that Kat was framed for a crime she didn’t commit. Kat was originally a Part of an adventuring group called The Rogues of Justice, though since her death she can’t remember the name of her group or the people involved, or even their faces. The Rogues of Justice were a chaotic good group of jokesters. They were known for helping wherever they could and for their wacky and often nutty solutions that didn’t seem like they would work, but always worked out in the end. They were very close.

On Kat’s final mission, she was framed for a crime that severely broke her team’s moral code. She was made to look like she’d ransacked and destroyed a nearby town. Entire livelihoods and homes were destroyed and burnt. People were severely injured. She was found with valuables from the people of that town hidden on her being, and thus was the one to blame.

Of course, she didn’t actually do this. She would never. She was most likely the one who believed in the moral code the most.

She was set up and doomed to be buried alive by a member of her team. Someone who, once upon a time, she loved dearly. When things didn’t work out between them, in a fit of rage, her ex was the one to have sealed her fate.

He didn’t exactly expect for it to go this far, but he didn’t dare speak up, even as the dirt was being shoveled onto Kat’s face. He stood on the sidelines, watching her last moments.

She woke up days later, memories missing, with only the feeling of once being part of something, a burning feeling of injustice and betrayal, a fuzzy memory of a single face she couldn’t recognize, and a crippling fear of tight spaces that gives her a horrid sense of deja vu. She had no idea where she was or how to leave, stuck in the middle of nowhere with nobody nearby. She had been stuck in those woods, going in circles, unable to escape, losing track of time until the day she would find a way to leave.

So basically what’s keeping her here is unfinished business that she forgot ;)

It’s honestly really really sad, but she copes with humor and distractions most of the time so she doesn’t have to think about her memory gaps and the extreme distaste for that one person she can’t quite remember.

There are quite a few dark themes hidden in the story beyond the found family and fun fantasy settings, sorry haha!

I should also mention that the main reason she sticks around with Brook and the gang is cuz she’s BORED. Like she has been stuck in the woods and these are the first people she’s seen in GOD knows how long and they’re on a quest??? That’s some high quality entertainment there!!! She also gets pretty attached pretty quickly because again: human interaction!!!! And they helped her get out!!!! It’s honestly the least she can do while having hundreds of thousands of years ahead of her of existing.

Fun fact!!! Ghosts are basically the magic sparks of people who refuse to return back to the cycle just yet for whatever reason. They can last a REALLY long time but eventually they will get re-absorbed back into the cycle as everything continues on. :)

Their music really feels like the kind you'd find in the liminal space as you're trying to figure out what to do next about your negative emotions while also feeling the pain of those around you and the pain you hold in yourself if that makes sense .(I need to read more of their lyrics tbh only read dogdogs and christ)

Ugh dogdog is really really good!! I especially love the lyric "I want to die, I'll keep screaming out, because I look so beautiful doing it" it's just so!!!!!!!! All the lyrics in dogdog are super powerful but i especially love that one... and when the chorus hits? Beautiful!! The visuals are gorgeous too. Alot of Abuse's works deal with the themes of alienation and feeling of being wrong just for existing, but dogdog is definitely the song that touches on this the most, and it is conveyed perfectly.

I think Don't Kill properly has the most powerful instrumental of them all! It's really impressive both on your end and Abuseken's that you managed to get that without knowing the lyrics! It's not 100% accurate but it's pretty close imo! There's lyrics on yt if you ever wanna listen, though I'm not entirely sure about what happens in the end. The fact that Abuse managed to convey such things without lyrics just goes to show how good of a musician they are. I love how the music gets louder and more chaotic(?) as the end draws near, only to fade out and leave nothing but bird chirping

♤ A moment I remember clearly that I'd love to go back to is sleeping with Milo. He used to curl up right under my neck and it was the cutest fucking tag ever, it was so comforting and I may have died from allergies but it was sooo worth it man ohmygod

◇ Eating at Red Robins with my mom right before going to a concert. Ider which concert ngl but idk it was just . Such a happy moment. Tbh all of the concerts I've been to with my mom (tswift, nick jonas and demi levato, tøp) are all very fond memories of mine. They were all superrr fun :))

♡ oooo idr if i mentioned this in the other one but CHOIRR vocal jazz was a lot of fun, like going downtown with everyone? It was Such an Experience man /pos

♧ VISITING MY AUNT UP NORTH ON THE ISLAND OHKYGODDD both times but i def preferred this last time bc i got to do a lot more exploring of the town myself :D i love my aunt and i love my baby cousin, he's such a menace but he's fucking adorable and really fun to hang out with (even if he gets a little much sometimes). The island itself is gorgeous and wow... the amount of wildlife i got to see was so dope. And just . We went to this small side island and we had the island to ourself LIKE A WHOLE FUCKING ISLAND . TO OURSELF IT WAS SO COOL MAN OHKYGOSHHH that trip was honestly so fucking cool man i loved it smmm i cant wait to go back rahhss

♤ watching the flash (before it got bad) with my mom :)) those times were honestly so lovely idk it was Our Special Bonding Time wout my siblings it was just . Really specisl and nice

◇ fencinggg, i miss fencing so much man, i really hope i get back into it this year omg. The feeling of doing well, outsmarting someone, dodging, getting a point. Ahhhh, there's nothing else like it. So satisfying. I miss the way it felt to be completely and utterly fluid with the the blade.

♧ this one morning my dad and stepmom making pancakes while listening to ccr. My stepmom kept being like "wait this song is ALSO ccr?!?!?" bc she knew of the band but she never actually knew all the songs were by them it was really funny but also super lovely

♤ christmas. I love christmas man. Specifically waking up early in the morning to the smell of coffee and land of knod (a type of cinnamon bun thingy that my stepmom always makes), dibbying out all the presents to every person as we all choose our spots, opening presents. Christmas cookies, i looove christmas cookies, i love making them tooo.

◇ playing dnd, both with my fam and with my friends. I have so many chaotic and silly moments from that. I miss dnd so bad

♡ this one time i stood outside in the pouring rain on the grass in my socks. It was such a... freeing moment. Bc yknow people hate getting their socks wet, it's very cursed, but i Did it. I did it on purpose. And it was so nice honestly. Just the feeling of the rain pressing down on my skin, the cool air breathing on it compared to the suffocating heat from inside my house... ough i love rain

♧ in a similar but almost opposite fashion, lying down in the sun on the grass field outside of our highschool. It was so calming. I still love lying down in the grass, I do it at uni too. I just put on some music and just... enjoy the moment. I dig my hands into the dirt. I love the feeling of it on my skin, i love looking at its lasting impression, even after i wipe my hands clean of it. It makes me feel alive and content to be in that moment.

♤ hehe watching tommys vlogs with my stepmom. Back when tommys vlogs first started coming out, they came out weekly, and i was visiting my stepmom weekly too so it worked out. It was a lovely lil routine between us :))

◇ scrapbooking with my dads wife, it was such a fun creative outlet and i actually got to do something with my photos for once, rather than have them just sit on my phone

♡ driving with my stepmom up that same beautiful highway i mentioned last time, going up to the waterfalls with my stepmom

♧ OOOHH HIKINGG so many hikes but there was this one Insane one where we had to 4x4 up this mountain and we went to the top of the peak and there were so many wildflowers and barely any ppl since its such an intense hike and omg it was so peaceful i wanna go back...

+ like OUGH. Maya Miles bestie hours.. I think, particularly early on wrt him n Phoenix reconnecting, he can be.. not more GENUINE per se, but he certainly puts less pressure on himself to try and hit some like. ideal the way he does w Phoenix. and not even necessarily consciously, but like, Maya doesn’t have this idealized childhood savior version of him propped up in her head.

and this is like, Me Projecting bc hey I can do that :3 but I’ve started trying 2 like. give myself more space to actually BE nonverbal when im overstimulated instead of forcing myself to maintain verbal communication— and I think Maya knows sign language from her childhood with Mia (Mia figuring out quickly that it was a good way for them to communicate if/when Maya went non-verbal— and Mia probably being the only person she felt comfortable signing with bc, well, she’s so bubbly and outgoing and really, she can’t POSSIBLY be non-verbal, they all know the moment she TRIES she’ll be talking their ears off!! So Maya forces herself to talk around the adults and signed with Mia).

and her recognizing overstimulation in Miles before he’s even really giving himself the space to recognize it himself— coming over to annoy him because he NEVER visits Phoenix and she gets it but she MISSES him and… stopping when she sees the way his shoulders hunch and his fingers clench around his pen and he’s staring pointedly at the papers on his desk because he’s been TRYING to focus, trying to force himself to function like a NORMAL adult (except not really; he’s aiming for Von Karma standards whether he wants to admit it or not and that’s not exactly normal). Maya gently tapping the desk to get him to look and signing, and the mixture of relief and sheer confusion when he realizes she’s providing accommodations he’d never admit to needing while also having absolutely no idea what she just said.

That first evening passes with Maya signing while speaking softly, and Miles writing his responses on a spare notepad, but slowly he learns more and more from her until he’s practically fluent too— they can spend a whole evening conversing about the chaos of the legal world and the equally chaotic reworks to Steel Samurai lore without ever saying a word out loud, and those are moments Miles always treasures

(and, when Phoenix stops him one night when he’s particularly overstimulated, clumsily signing “it’s okay, Maya’s teaching me” Miles feels so grateful to know her that he could, possibly, cry. He admits to nothing, but he does text her that she’s his favorite person in the world. She quickly responds “we both know that’s actually Nick, but ily2 ^u^” and it’s definitely one of those moments where it hits him that he Has A Family Now, For The First Time In Years)

ALSO Maya feels very much like the kind of person to say “I love you” very liberally. Especially because of how young she lost Mia + feeling like she didn’t let her sister know enough, even if her feelings are complicated. so I’m sure you can imagine the sort of (very hushed) gossip that goes around whenever people catch Maya leaving (Miles giving her a one armed hug and unable to stop himself from smiling a little even as he TRIES to glower intimidatingly at his subordinates while Maya exclaims “okay BYE Mr. Edgeworth LOVE YOU!! Good luck in court, you better come to game night!!!”)

(he does, of course, come to game night)

(Maya has definitely channeled a spirit to win at LEAST twice and they have yet to decide if it counts as cheating or not since technically it’s not looking up an answer!! but also it is kinda looking up an answer.)

+ lastly ok I’ve probs talked abt this before but I do like the idea that they maintain the sort of silly rivalry they start with but more in a “if you turn my brother into even MORE of a fool you WILL face my wrath, Phoenix Wright” “pffft yeah right, Maya will never let you live it down if you break out the whip at dinner on Saturday” “…I will exact my revenge in other, more subtle ways.”

She sends him a Top Ten Scariest Things Caught On Camera compilation at three in the morning one night (thank you different time zones, she loves being in a different time zone) and he texts back “I hate you >:(“ but they are both laughing. There’s no one he would trust to take care of Maya more than her and there’s no one she would trust to care for Miles more than him.

Also I’ve DEF talked abt it from Phoenix’s POV (texting her at night to confirm Maya’s safe when he has nightmares about her being kidnapped/in danger) but Franziska ABSOLUTELY texts him every now and then like “Miles is there?” and Phoenix knows she would never outright admit to either him or Miles how much Miles’ “death” affected her. Asking if he’s there (safe, nearby, a phone call away) is as close they’ll get — Phoenix always responds as soon as he can (“yep, we’re making dinner!” or “he’s at his office, I’ll see him in forty minutes for lunch” or “he and Maya have a coffee date, you can double check with her but I wouldn’t wanna interrupt their Steel Samurai gossip session”)

She doesn’t always respond, but Phoenix gets it, and he’s always happy to let her know— he’s okay just getting a one-word (or sometimes one letter, if it’s super late for her) response about Maya, but he knows she needs more detail to put her mind at ease (Evidence is key, after all; you can’t build a perfect case without all the information) and he’s happy to provide

They definitely all have dinner together once a week (either just the four of them out at a restaurant, or their entire “family” at one of their houses— Miles and Phoenix, Trucy, Maya and Franziska, Klavier and Apollo, Pearl, Kay, Emma, Athena and Juniper, Simon if he’s feeling up to group interactions, Gumshoe and Maggie if they’re in town, even Larry sometimes). It gets hectic and usually they only get EVERYONE together for holidays, but all of them spent so long with nothing, losing everyone they loved, that having such an ABUNDANCE of connection really is something for them to revel in.
