A piece I made for Of Folk and Fable Tarot — a collaborative project where artists drew creatures and stories from their cultures. This is The Magician, as represented by Ivan Tsarevitch, the Fire Bird, and the Grey Wolf, a classic Russian/Ukrainian/Georgian fairy tale. I love me a good-hearted wolf shapeshifter! 

The project has already been fully funded on Kickstarter (yay!) but give it a look if it sounds like your thing.

Ayo we're officially halfway through the @folkloretarot  kickstarter so I can share my Full Piece, the kick-ass Death card as represented by the Phoenix!

In other exciting news, we can finally share our full pieces for the Of Folk and Fable tarot deck, where we painted all four ace cards!

Aces in tarot are all about new beginnings, so the idea behind each of these was that seeing something ordinary in the right circumstances can turn it into something extraordinary! With these cards, we really wanted to push the visual of the real mixing with human imagination, so I tapped into my wildlife painting powers while M rendered the "mythic" elements of each card.

First up is air, where a sighting of what was probably a simple owl leads to a tale of a mysterious cryptid!

It's time! I can share my piece for the Of Folk and Fable tarot project! I was given the incredible chance to illustrate The Man, The Moth, The Legend himself, Mothman for the Star card!

We are halfway through the of Folk and Fable Tarot Kickstarter, which means we get to share our full cards!

The second of my two cards is the Knight of Fire/Wands, which is a card of passion, impulsivity, and action!

For this card, I illustrated the Red Ghost, the true story of a mysterious red-furred beast with a headless, skeletal rider that terrified the Arizona frontier in the late 1800s. (It ended up being a crazed camel with a corpse strapped to its back, and there were many impulsive actions around the incident.) We've already hit full funding and all the stretch goals, and we still have until July 6, 2023.

Counting down the hours - a numbers update!

Since the update yesterday evening, THIRTY more creators have signed up for another THIRTY EIGHT offers … including a signup for Goncharov, NINE new write-in fandoms, and FIVE more folks willing to work in any fandom.

Sherlock has managed to tie up fifth place in the listed fandoms, sharing the spot with Teen Wolf. And the tenth spot is now a 4-way tie between Merlin, Original Work, The Sandman, and The Witcher.

Under the cut is a list of the Unlisted Fandoms with just one write-in. A single sign up would bump them up the list. A handful of signups can completely shake things up.

We're allowed to share our full illustrations for the Of Folk & Fable tarot project!

I had the Page of Earth, featuring the Scottish critter Cat Sith (cait sithe, cat sidhe, etc, spellings may vary). Tales of this kitty vary, from stealing souls to granting wishes. Either way, not a critter to cross!

This go around it’s Of Folk & Fable, which is a folktales/legends/cryptids tarot deck! As always the art is fantastic and fun, and the kickstarter only just started today and will go until July 5th!
