The one relationship other than his brother that’s pretty important to him is that of the owner of the mechanic’s shop he works at who has sort of taken him under his wing, and is kind of like a father figure to him. Please describe your character’s family dynamics. Ollie is a little bit distant from his parents, though he does still love them, but he’s much closer to his older brother, since that’s who really raised him into a man. He sees his parents on holidays, and talks to them pretty regularly over the phone, but they aren’t heavily involved in his day to day life. (More info on this in his bio.)

Plans for Development. 

I’d like for Ollie to grow up a bit, maybe go through something that causes that to happen, like a first real relationship, possibly even heartbreak, or something maybe not entirely traumatic, exactly, or even negative necessarily, but that causes him to do some inner reflecting.

Along with that, I’d like for him to believe in himself, maybe try a little harder in school, and focus on actually getting to achieve his dream of working for NASA, or at least the astronomy field

I’d also like for him to maybe be able to open up to people more, whether that be his friends, a romantic interest, or his brother, and not feel the need to hide behind the “cool guy” persona he puts on.

Other.  I have a wanted connection for Ollie’s brother, but I’m also looking for the mechanic shop owner, as well as some friends of his, neighbors, coworkers, classmates, really just anyone in his life, who could influence any decisions he makes, I’d love to develop his relationships with.

Character Biography

Ollie’s father is in the military (the airforce, specifically), which has made his family have to move around a lot. When Ollie was seven, his family moved to Homestead, Florida, a couple hours away from the Kennedy Space center, and pretty much the minute they were unpacked, after lots of incessant begging from Ollie, they took their first trip there. Ollie had always been in love with the idea of space, and when he’d first heard they were moving to Florida, it was the first thing he asked about. For the three years they lived there, they made the over three hour trip to the center at least once every three or four months, though Ollie would have gone every day if he could. When he was given the news that they were moving to Indiana, he cried for two days straight, until his older brother, who was twenty at the time, agreed to take Ollie in, so he could stay in the state. 

Ollie is pretty much a typical teenage boy, and his biggest priority most of the time seems to be having as much fun as possible. He does have a bit of a problem with being himself, and tends to hide behind a cool guy attitude, to try and impress people, for example, doing things like riding a motorcycle and wearing (faux) leather jackets. He was a bit geeky as a kid, and was picked on because of that, and now, even though he’s actually pretty popular, he still puts on the act, partially because he’s worried people will stop liking him if he doesn’t act so badass. 

Ollie’s never really had a serious relationship. He’s gone on some dates, but mostly he just fools around. Which he doesn’t mind all that much, he has fun, and he likes getting to be with different people, but there is a part of him that does sort of long for something a little more serious, a partner. Not even necessarily an exclusive relationship, but something more than just an every once in awhile hookup or short-lived fling. He wants someone that can be his best friend, that he can talk to and hang out with even when sex isn’t involved. He sometimes feels like people only like him because he’s cool and good looking, since they didn’t seem to back when he was dorky and awkward.
