I can’t believe Buggy was literally half a step away from calling Crocodile “Baby girl” in canon. I cannot believe the words “Croccy Baby ❤” came out of his mouth when Crocodile came to collect on his debts. My god.

We need to talk about Crocodile and Mihawk’s relationship, and how notably odd it is.

Considering both of them are very smart men, they must know beforehand the moment their names appear together in the same organization, they are essentially declaring to the World Government that they are creating another emperor crew.

Now here’s the strange part.

Crocodile—being extremely intelligent—must know that in an ideal universe where Buggy did not fuck shit up and that Crocodile and Mihawk are rightfully recognized as the true leaders of Cross Guild, World Government would look at these two names side-by-side and come to the conclusion that Mihawk should be named the emperor, seen as there is a significant gap between their issued bounties. That can only mean when Crocodile made that phone call, he already had the intention of making Mihawk the king, right? Another evidence is that Crocodile even named their organization Cross Guild, after Mihawk and his cross motif.

On the other hand, Mihawk does not want to be an emperor. Mihawk makes this very clear and his opinion on this matter has never changed. That can only mean when Mihawk accepted Crocodile’s offer, he already had the intention of becoming Crocodile’s right-hand commander, right? True to this assumption, it is mostly Crocodile making the decisions in the few panels we see of their interaction with Mihawk following his lead, from recruiting Buggy and co, to how Buggy’s friends all stating that they will follow Crocodile (not Mihawk).

Buggy lucking himself into his current position does not change the fact that before Buggy was even in the picture, Crocodile and Mihawk—both of whom exude extreme I-am-king-and-serve-no-one vibes—considered each other and simultaneously decided that they want the other man to lead.

So why?

These two must have history.

A month had passed, and Crocodile and Mihawk kept true to their word. Outside of insults and cold remarks, they left their "leader" unscathed.

And it was driving Buggy absolutely bonkers.

He was so certain that they were planning something, that they were plotting his assassination.

It admittedly wasn't outside the realm of possibility, but you found it unlikely. While they were certainly more powerful, Buggy had more clout, and his followers were in the hundreds if not thousands. Killing him now would only result in a riot that would no doubt set whatever plans they had back considerably.

This combined with your leverage over the two made you certain that your paranoid boyfriend had nothing to fear.

Buggy was, unfortunately, not convinced.

Currently, he was pacing up and down your shared tent. His feet were disconnected from his body and they frantically shuffled after him as he floated in mid-air.

"I'm dead! I'm done for! They're planning something I just know it!"

"Buggy."

"Did you see the way that guy was looking at me?! He's working for them, I know he is! They somehow got one of my crew to spy on me!"

"Buggy."

"Gasp! What if they're spying on us right now?! They could've planted bugs all over this tent! Quick, help me look!"

"Red nose."

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SA-"

You grabbed Buggy by the nose and pulled him towards you, so he was looking you in the eye.

"You finished?"

"Uh-huh." came his nasally reply.

You let go of his nose and cupped his cheeks. "Buggy. Mihawk and Crocodile aren't trying to kill you."

"But how do you know that?!"

You smirked. "Trust me. They wouldn't dare. Not if they know what's good for them."

Buggy blinked in confusion.

You placed your hands on your hips. "Let's just say that those two underestimated just how loyal one your followers could be, and they were given an offer they couldn't refuse."

"R-really?"

"Really."

Buggy stared for a couple of minutes, then burst out into laughter.

"Gyahahahahaha! Serves you right, ya bastards! That's what you get for messing with the great and powerful Buggy-sama!"

He suddenly stopped, his eyes darting back and forth. "But uh, don't tell them I said that, ok?"

"Mum's the word, dear heart."

Buggy let out a great sigh, then plopped on the bed next to you. "Ya know, I really owe that guy a huge one. I outta pay'im back somehow. A feast? A bigger cut of treasure? Whatta you think?"

Your smirk turned into a sly grin. "Oh, I can think of one thing they'd appreciate."

"Yeah? What iMMMPH!"

Buggy's question was smothered by the sudden kiss. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and you both fell backwards onto the bed.

And so, Cross Guild was flourishing.

Mihawk and Crocodile still ran things for the most part, but publicly, they kowtowed to Buggy. Well, as much as their pride would allow at any rate.

Buggy, for his part, was content to let them do as they pleased so long as they kept up appearances and didn't try to hurt him. Which you thought was wise - provoking them unnecessarily might cause them to throw caution to the wind and lash out.

Interestingly, Buggy's crew had begun sucking up to him again. They obviously saw a shift in dynamics between the three company heads and were trying to get back in his good graces.

You knew deep down that Buggy would forgive them...after he watched them squirm for a little bit first.

You, on the other hand, made it abundantly clear that they were all on very thin ice, Galdino especially. You told him, in no uncertain terms, that if he ever pulled a stunt like that again, he would be serving Crocodile, all right...as lunchmeat for his bananawani.

Overall, though, things were going well. Buggy had decided to pull you out of the field and keep you close to base. You suspected it was to keep Mihawk and Crocodile in line, though he claimed otherwise.

You didn't mind; this just meant you had more time to spend with your boyfriend. It had been a while since your last date, and you were looking forward to it.

You would occasionally cross paths with Buggy's "partners". They would glare at you with deadly intent, and you would sweetly smile back, knowing that you had their balls in a vice and there wasn't a damn thing they could do about it.

Honestly, they had no one to blame but themselves. After all, it was only natural for a pirate to try and protect their most precious treasure.

Ahhh, their bounties.

Everyone, barring Chopper, is over 300 million berries, 4 of them are around a billion berries, Luffy's at 3 billion.

Like, this feels right for an Emperor's crew. It really feels like we've made it.

I still assume we'll get one more bounty increase by the end of the story, possibly two, but it really feels just so impactful.

Also, love Robin cheering Chopper up over his low bounty.

The crew sailing ahead after leaving the prior two islands traveled to. I like the narrations and the unrolled paper text boxes in chapter 1124.

They remind me a bit of some of the text boxes of Oden's narrations, during Wano's big flashback, though these are a bit different.

Nice connection to chapter 1056 as well, where the routes are selected.

Note: This is how I think the Live-Action could the adapt the arcs in the series. Some arcs like Wano Country have to be cut a little in order fit the 8 episode season and some arcs who are in diffrent sagas have to be pushed together, like Skypiea and Long Ring Long Land. I made this having the pacing of Season 1 in mind and the generell lenght of the arcs including in some seasons a character side story. Don't take this too seriously, it's just a little thought experiment of mine. Since we don't know how long the series will actually last and if it will even reach the end of One Piece.

Buggy x Reader Fic Part 1

This is my first time doing this. This was actually based on an ask I sent to @count-alucard-tepes, but for whatever reason it got deleted.

So without further ado...

You knew something was wrong when you saw Buggy's face. His fanatic crew had misinterpreted the tears on his face as tears of joy, but you knew better. And worse, his "partners" weren't even trying to hide their hostility.

You had only just wrapped up a long and tedious mission and was heading back to Kari Bari Island when you saw the poster for Cross Guild. At first you were in disbelief - you couldn't imagine someone like Crocodile or Mihawk willingly serving under your boyfriend. Then again, Buggy did have a way with words. Maybe he managed to sway them to his side somehow.

But as you looked up at the balcony as Buggy gave his speech, you immediately recognized that, once again, Buggy had gotten in over his head.

Oh Buggy, what have you gotten yourself into this time?

As you waited for him in his tent, you could hear him approaching, whimpering and muttering to himself. He didn't immediately notice someone in his tent, and when he did, he jumped back with a high-pitched scream, his head separating from his body.

"Wha...(Reader), is that you?! You almost gave me a freaking heart attack!"

His head zoomed into your personal space as he raved in indignation. You reached up and stroked his cheeks. "I missed you too, Buggy."

His faced flushed red as he pouted like a child, his anger snuffed out. Ordinarily, you'd find it adorable. But considering what you were about to talk about...

"I saw your speech. Cross Guild, huh?"

You saw Buggy's eyes shrink in fear, before he started to put on an act, one you saw right through. "Gyahahahahaha! So you saw that, did you? Of course, it's only natural that the likes of those two would want to team up with the great Buggy-sama! Admittedly, I was a little hesitant to take them on, but then I thought, 'eh, why not?' I'm sure those two have their-"

"Buggy."

Buggy stopped immediately at your tone, and his face fell. He knew that you knew he was bullshitting, you always saw right through him. As his lips started to tremble, you noticed that there were bruises underneath his make-up. Fairly recent ones. You reached out and gently ran your fingers through his hair.

"Oh sweetheart. What happened while I was gone?"

Buggy burst into tears, and buried his face into your chest, his body slumped to the ground on the other side of the tent. Through his sobs, he told you everything. His debt to Crocodile, his attempt to pay back that debt, his followers naming him the leader despite it being Crocodile's idea, the Government making him Emperor because of this, Crocodile and Mihawk's indignation and the brutal beatdown they gave him as a result, his crew turning on him-

"They what?" you snarled.

Honestly you weren't surprised Galdino sold him out. You never did trust that uppity creep, no matter what Buggy had told you. And as for the others, Alvida, Mohji, Cabaji, Richie...

The thing is, you did understand where they were coming from. It wasn't as though they'd be able to take Crocodile or Mihawk on in a fight. And if the roles were reversed, you knew Buggy would have done the same thing. But even so, Buggy had known these people for years, some long before he even met you. They sailed together, ate together, got drunk together. Did all of that mean so little to them? Did they have to be so callous?

But that was a thought for another day, and you had bigger problems to deal with. You gestured for Buggy to continue.

He told you that the two ex-warlords had decided to place him as a figurehead of the company while they ran things from behind the scenes, so that if things went south, they could leave him to take the blame.

Buggy's words were reduced to ineligible blubbering as you stroked his blue locks. Your boyfriend really did have the worst luck, didn't he?

You pulled his head away from your chest as you comforted him. "Listen Buggy. You've gotten yourself in tight spots before. And you always managed to get out of them. You'll get out of this one, too."

"B-b-but-"

You grabbed a handkerchief and started wiping the tears and snot from his face. "Seriously, you survived Impel Down. You survived Marineford. You survived Gold Roger! Compared to all that, this is nothing." You planted a soft kiss on his forehead. "It'll be okay."

You could tell that he had calmed down a bit as he reattached his head to his body. "Y-yeah. You're right. This is just a minor setback! Nothing can stop the great Buggy-sama! You'll see!"

He sat down on the bed next to you. "Anyway, why don't you tell me about your mission. Share all the flashy details!"

And you did exactly that.

Later that night, as Buggy snored peacefully next to you in bed, you sat upright, quietly seething.

Those two motherfuckers thought they could get away with using your boyfriend as a punching bag, all for something that wasn't even his fault, and making him their scapegoat?

Oh, no. Oh hell no! Absolutely not!

As quietly as you could, you slipped out of bed and out of the tent.

It was time to call in some favors.

Feels satisfying to finally get Mihawk's bounty.

Not at all surprised it's about as high as the Yonkou, that feels about right.

At the very least it had to be pretty far above 1 billion, because narratively, Zoro still hasn't reached Mihawk, and it feels like the bounty reflecting that would be expected.
