Fankidtober 2023 Day 29 - Carmen

Take 2 on her design!  Paul and Kenny's daughter.  She needs more takes but this is at least somewhat closer to what I wanted for her? Although I think I liked the purple hair more but alas. Downfall of traditional art is it’s not as easy to play around with colors for designs.

I also kind of just smashed her and her brother into one character, so perhaps she's an only child for now, perhaps her brother will be able to revive himself.  We shall see. But mostly this means she’s the one potentially traveling with Ray (the AshGohHo middle son).

Truly the Ship Name of All Time some random person decided are SecondBestShipping and OutOfSpiteShipping. Like SecondBest is still the winner since that is a godtier name where whoever named them understood the vision. Truly can’t be beat. So happy that was what they chose as there is no other option one should have gone with. But for my purposes, both are great. Could not have come up with better ship names if I tried.

I probably shouldn’t admit to this but I’m in that kinda mood right now. So while I do genuinely think the idea of Paul/Kenny as a couple is hilarious especially in the context of Kenny as the alpha and Paul as the omega (deep down this is the final reason I ran with it). The initial reason I chose them as a ship is in the ship name. It really was decided out of spite since uhhhhhhhh sometimes I do let spite fuel my creative decisions for this blog. And that’s the most I’ll say about the spite thing since don’t want to actually out anyone. Stuff like that is a secret you need to reach Social Link Level 5 with me to reveal.

Regardless, adore their ship name (OutOf SpiteShipping) tho. Always love when the weird ship names randos came up with years ago are actually good. Like I have no idea what whoever came up with the name was going for, but certainly works for me!

Fankidtober Day 29: Carmen and Malo

The Paul/Kenny kids!  Prototype designs with prototype names.  I’m kinda feeling Pam for the girl after drawing her, but that would require me to rename the Reggie kids (can’t have a Pam and a Pan in the same fam) so gonna let things brew more for now.

I realized I never uploaded my cursed chad Kenny edit here so ya’ll get to see it too.  So the 10 minutes I spent on it won’t go to waste.

The context was presumably this would be one of the many images Kenny would send to Paul.

Gary/Paul should be endgame.

It’s actually Kenny/Paul that has been brewing in my head.  The more I thought about omega Paul, the more I liked how unomega-like he would be. He seems like a pretty obvious character to make an alpha in an omegaverse AU, so why not subvert expectations by making him an omega instead. Plus talk about a character who would heavily reject a lot of the more traditional views on how an omega should behave.  He’d be amusing in how done with everything involving his omega biology he would be.

This is where my chad Kenny comment was leading towards. Kenny seems like a character who would make for an obvious omega (or at least the kind of character I typically choose to make an omega) so I thought it would be interesting to do the opposite with him as well. Then my friend made a comment about alpha chad Kenny and I was sold. 

The general premise for Kenny/Paul is it started as a joke idea I was sharing with a friend. Single mom Paul with Kenny as his needy ex who keeps sending him texts and sexy pics of himself wanting to get back together. Paul repeatedly blocks his number every time, but Kenny keeps finding a way. They still hook up sometimes when Kenny shows up for visitation rights since Paul can’t resist the chad bod. Although it probably goes that they hook up and then immediately afterwards once Kenny starts the pillow talk, Paul Regrets. Kicks Kenny out, who’s unphased and is just all “until next time ;)”.

Of course, I’m not set on this, since I’m being very strict with myself on not deciding any ships for the Diamond/Pearl anime-exclusive characters until I finish DP, but the idea continues to live rent free in my head.  I’ll admit that there is a fair chance it will happen. Since I doubt any other more appealing ship ideas are going to appear in the second half of the series.

As for Gary, since I made Ash and Red related, I figured I should just commit to the idea of gameverse!Gary as Samson’s grandson.  Whether I’ll use him or not is up in the air. If an interesting ship/idea reveals itself, I might, but as of this point, I don’t feel a strong need to do anything with him if nothing fun comes to mind. I’m content to keep him as nothing more than fun side trivia for Green’s fam.
