Two of Great American Family‘s major stars are teaming up for a new holiday movie.
TV Insider has learned exclusively that Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison will star in a new original holiday film, Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells. It will premiere in November as part of Great American Christmas 2024. The holiday event is in its fourth season.
In this upcoming film, Bure plays Gracie, who is Peachtree Inn’s perfect wedding planner and whose mantra, “No problems, only solutions waiting to be discovered,” makes blushing brides’ dreams come true. When Charlie (played by Mathison) brings his sister and future brother-in-law to their former hometown of Butler, South Carolina, expecting to create a magical Christmas Eve wedding at the Inn for Lindsay and Josh, the trio is stunned when Gracie stubbornly declines the job, saying it is not possible to pull off the perfect wedding two weeks before Christmas. Eventually, Gracie relents and agrees to plan the wedding, only to discover there are more hurdles to overcome than expected.
In addition to starring in Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells, Bure serves as an executive producer. Also executive producing the film are Holly A. Hines, Eric Jarboe, Jeffery Brooks, Ford Englerth, Gerald Webb, Paula Elle, and Trevor McWhinney. The film is produced by Mick MacKay. Supervising producers are Michael Shepard, Jonathan Shore, and Robyn Wiener. Serving as associate producers are David Oland and Trudi Thorwaldson. Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells is directed by Elle from an original screenplay written by Katie Main.
This isn’t the first film Great American Family already has set for its Great American Christmas 2024. Others include A Vintage Christmas starring Merritt Patterson and Christopher Russell; Love at the Kettle (working title) starring Carlos PenaVega and Alexa PenaVega; and A Christmas Less Traveled starring Bure and Eric Johnson.

1970s Soul Playlist
Added a few criminally underheard gems to this terrific 1970s soul playlist on Spotify that I haven't updated in a couple years. Two of these adds are by pretty obscure acts that you've probably never heard of and the other one is by Ike & Tina Turner. So let's get into 'em!
First up, we have a guy from Detroit named Nathaniel (Na) Allen, whose entire recording career appears to have only consisted of about a half-dozen 7-inches between the years of 1970 and 1973. And Allen may have called the Motor City his home, but most of his material was recorded in the south, including his only record for the Shreveport, Louisiana-based Ronn Records—a sublabel of Jewel Records—from 1970 called "Lay It on Me Right Now." This lovely, tender, and relaxed tune has some great and sweetly ringing guitar work on it to go along with Allen's sure and steady vocals, and as of right now, it only has about 3,200 plays on Spotify. In 1991, "Lay It on Me Right Now" appeared on another Jewel sublabel's compilation, Paula Records' Super Soul Blues, Volume II, under the name of "Bring It on Home," which is also on Spotify, and currently has under 1,000 plays.
Next, "Back in Love Again," by a vocal duo from the very tiny town of Magee, Mississippi called The Patterson Twins. These guys also ended up putting out one record on Ronn, but before that, in 1973, they released "Back in Love Again" on Cincinnati label King Records. This one's a nice and smooth, southern-styled tune with a coasting chorus that sees the brothers harmonizing with some female backup singers to add some depth and gravitas. And the Pattersons may have had a longer and more fruitful career than that of Na Allen's, but this excellent tune of theirs currently only has under 1,000 plays on Spotify.
And last, but certainly not least for these Spotify adds is Ike & Tina Turner's brilliant cover of Faye Adams & the Joe Morris Orchestra's "Shake a Hand," the original of which is a slow-moving and powerful R&B classic from 1953 that managed to stay atop the Billboard R&B chart for nine whole weeks. This cover, which appears to have been first recorded in 1979, but stayed unreleased until 1985 when it first appeared on an Ike & Tina comp called Golden Empire, speeds things up a bit from the original version and adds a little southerly funk to it too. And Tina may lead the whole way through it vocally, but to me, this thing really crests on the bridge, with an irresistibly quirky and primitively whistling electronic keyboard solo added to the mix 🤩. And for how great this little nugget is, and for how popular Ike & Tina were as a duo, the fact that this tune only has under 9,900 plays on Spotify feels pretty ridiculous!
Na Allen - "Bring It on Home" Patterson Twins - "Back in Love Again" Ike & Tina Turner - "Shake a Hand"
Now, while you can also find those three songs on the YouTube version of this playlist, there's an extra one that I added to it this week that's not on Spotify too, and it's another one from the Patterson Twins, with a song that they released as a b-side on King Records in 1973 called "I Got Some Problems," which sees them in a much more upbeat and lively mode and doing a whole lot more satisfying harmonizing than they did on "Back in Love Again" too. Currently at a very low view count of under 120.
Patterson Twins - "I Got Some Problems"
And this playlist is also on YouTube Music too.
So with the Spotify version of this look back at some super underrated 70s soul tunes, we now have 22 songs for a total of 75 minutes; but over on YouTube, we've got an extra song, which brings us up to 77 minutes.
Back to posting about electronic stuff next week! 😎
Enjoy!
More to come, eventually. Stay tuned!
Like what you hear? Follow me on Spotify and YouTube for more cool playlists and uploads!

Ex-Fujitsu boss admits calling Horizon 'Fort Knox'
Shutterstock
A former head of Fujitsu UK has admitted that he told former Post Office boss, Paula Vennells, that the Horizon IT system was like “Fort Knox”.
However, Duncan Tait told the BBC his comment was not related to who had remote access to Post Office branch accounts.
Ms Vennells informed MPs in 2020 that she was told branch accounts could only be changed by sub-postmasters.
However, it has since emerged the accounts could be accessed remotely.
A public inquiry into the Post Office scandal is currently ongoing.
In a statement to the BBC, Mr Tait said: “As the public inquiry is already aware, I did refer to Fort Knox in a conversation with Paula Vennells – this was in relation to the cyber and physical security of Horizon and was unrelated to the remote access issue.”
More than 900 sub-postmasters and postmistresses were prosecuted after the faulty Horizon software wrongly made it look like money was missing from their branches.
Some sub-postmasters and postmistresses were jailed, others were bankrupted and some have since died following what has been described as the biggest miscarriage of justice in UK history.
Last week, Nick Read, chief executive of the Post Office, was criticised for not knowing when the company first knew that remote access to sub-postmasters’ Horizon systems was possible.
When prosecutions were taking place, Fujitsu had told the Post Office that no-one, apart from sub-postmasters themselves, could access or alter Horizon records – meaning the blame for mistakes could only rest with sub-postmasters. But that turned out to be untrue.
Speaking to MPs on the Business Committee four years ago, Ms Vennells said: “I remember being told by Fujitsu’s then chief executive when I raised it with him that the system was ‘like Fort Knox'” – a reference to the US military base which holds a large proportion of the US’s gold reserves.
“He had been a trusted outsource partner and had the reputation of a highly competent technology sector chief executive,” she said. “His word was important to me.”
Why were hundreds of Post Office workers prosecuted?
Fujitsu: We let society down over Post Office role
The scandal has been pushed back into the spotlight following the ITV drama Mr Bates vs the Post Office.
In his statement, Mr Tait said: “As I have said before, I am appalled by the harsh treatment of the sub-postmasters and postmistresses.
“I fully support the inquiry and it would be inappropriate for me to comment further ahead of giving my evidence.
“This has been a terrible miscarriage of justice and like others at Fujitsu, I am sorry for the damage that has been done to the sub-postmasters and postmistresses’ lives and any role that Fujitsu played in that.”
Last week, the boss of Fujitsu’s European arm, Paul Paterson, told the public inquiry into the scandal that the company had “clearly let society down, and the sub-postmasters down”.
Mr Patterson admitted there had been “bugs, errors and defects” with the Horizon software “right from the very start”.
