And then he’s defeated by the mere sight of how much fucking mint has grown there.

AU where instead of…eating…Phobos, Cedric gets his revenge by planting mint in the rose garden.

Maybe Phobos would have turned Cedric into a Murmurer had he succeeded. Maybe he woud continue to rule all alone, his creations voices echoing his own. Maybe his garden would outlast its ruler, their consciousness melting together and overtaking the castle. There it would stay haunted forever, looming over the city.

⚠️Shadowsugar theories/fanon ideas ahead ! ⚠️

They had two children, interestingly enough

In Orphic mythology, there was Dionysus/Zargeus (essentially the same, I think) and Melinoe (the younger and little-attested sister)

Now, the interesting part about this is:

Dionysus's association with grapes/grape vines and theatre and the radio staff Black Sapphire holds to an extent looks like a Thyrsus (this one's stretchy)

(I think we all know Black Sapphire's association with grapes and just general theatrics)

Melinoe's name basically means "tree fruit" hmm.. I wonder what that could possibly remind one of, totally not apples at all (although it can also possibly mean dark-minded)

Now, some accounts say, especially in orphic greek mythology that Zeus was the one who was the father of Dionysus, but interestingly, in some ways, Shadow Milk is not that far off from Zeus either sometimes - Although this is mostly Orphic

Zeus transformed into a serpent to deceive Persephone which apparently led to the creation of Dionysus (sometimes apparently Melinoe instead, I'm not 100% sure here) and he also fathered Melinoe

Also, interestingly enough, Melinoe is also described as having limbs that are "partly black" and "partly white" because of Hades (dark) and Zeus (light) in orphic as well. She apparently tends to be associated with the colors black and white

I'm just adding to my Persephone and Hades theories from a while back, and also the theories of CA and BS being their children ⚙️⚙️⚙️⚙️

I also considered maybe Pavlova also being since it was theorized that Eros was also possibly the son of Hermes but it doesn't matter since I'll just be considering his ~3 direct siblings

but stretchy.. I also headcannoned maybe they could be like Cain and Abel too , BA being Cain and Pavlova being Abel, especially since one is more demonic and the other is more angelic (for obvious reasons). maybe Candy Apple could be Aclima. Just thought this was fun to think about

Oh yes, speaking of which, I thought it was cute that Candy Apple and Pavlova also have big bows in their designs. The double-colored long hair on older Pavlova reminded me of Shadow Milk's pre corruption hair/sage of truth hair. (also generally the fringe reminds me of Smilk) Not exactly theories at all but it's sooo cute to think about ...

And the silhouette of the bow strands also look a bit like they'd make a coattail... I don't know why, but Pavlova is so Candy-apple-esque if only she were not evil/more "angelic"

Also how they're all associated with fruits, especially the one's in Eternal Sugar's garden (berries, apples, grapes) is lovely, even Shadow Milk is strongly associated with blueberries . Only one who isn't is Eternal Sugar but to be frank fruits contain relatively high natural sugar content ...

If you think about it, Candy Apple cookie behaves a lot like Eternal Sugar sometimes... And Pavlova is a bit of a little trickster just like Shadow Milk cookie - I wonder if they would get upset about it sometimes lol ⛱️ Imagine raising a child as a divorcee only for them to turn out like the other parent instead

Ooooh and I nearly forgot to add, I thought it was interesting how Black Pearl cookie and Shadow Milk cookie are so similar especially in terms of lines which is funny because I'm pretty sure Black Pearl cookie is meant to be like a fem sea-based Hades (also Black Pearl's voice actor voices Lady in Azure too!)

I had some more thoughts, but I'm too sleepy to talk about them further. I did talk about them earlier but I had doubts and considering either re-writing or let it catch dust

so much rejection...

All of these things are very think-worthy and art material for me and I hope it's the case for everyone else too who likes it as much as I do 🧡

If you are still taking request can you write a lityerses x fem Aphroditekid!reader? Maybe where he is questioning why they are in love with him and question if it’s because she’s the daughter of the goddess of love and that’s the only reason she loves him (if that make sense) but she temporarily loses her powers due to a quest (they come back st the end) and it proves she really does love him! Super fluffy with angst at the beginning. Like that cute domestic stuff where they are baking and stuff since her powers are gone and she has nothing to do. Idk if I’m doing this right because I’ve never done This before. If I did this right thank you in advance❤️❤️❤️❤️

But You Tolerate It

warnings: angst mwahaha, but they make up, insecurities, silly silly, hints of toxicity?

they don’t bake but they do play with plants!!!

You stared at your hands, blankly. The buzzing of your cheap-ass fan only amplifies the heavy beating of your aching head.

The quest wasn’t supposed to go wrong, just a simple task for your mother. How did you know that you’d run into your brothers Phobos and Deimos? How did you know that they wouldn’t recognize you?

The burn of a new scar along your face does little to settle you, the inability to feel your newly-lose powers only makes it worse.

They stole them, your powers, and trapped them in a jar along with their other collections- collections of broken hearts and stolen dreams.

The fight with Lityerses was what really messed you up though.

“Do you even care?” He yelled, a hidden sadness behind his blazing fury. “Of course I do,” you cried back- nearly in hysterics. “Really,” he days with a scoff. Lityerses turns, not facing you as he grabs his sword off the bed. “Well it doesn’t seem like it.” The door shut, even as you begged him to just come back- that you two could fix this. The mangled remains of your relationship echoed throughout the room as you sat on the bed.

Here you were, in the same position as you were an hour ago.

You hadn’t told him about your powers being lost, he didn’t give you the chance. Sucking in your tears, you stand and walk to the mirror, wiping off the remaining on your face.

You wipe off your makeup, wash your face, do skincare, and then re-apply makeup. You look better now- the cried mascara streaks no longer on your face, you smile half-heartedly at your reflection. Makeup always felt better when you had your powers.

Then, you go on the hunt for Lityerses. After what feels like forever, saying hi to everyone you see and asking around if anyone else has seen him, you find him in the gardens. He sits on one of the wooden benches and stares at a patch of wilting flowers. Your heart aches to reach out and sooth the worried expression from him face- to kiss it better and tell him he was yours.

But, for now, you just sat down next to him and avoided eye contact.

After a few minutes, he said your name. “Y/n,” his voice was husky and it sent chills down your spine. You offer him a soft, slightly sad smile. “Lit,” you say back to him.

You wanted to yell at him, to let him taste the poison that lay beneath your tongue- courtesy of your mother. But when he pulled you closer, and you set your head on his shoulder, the words died on your tongue.

It would always be like this- you would forgive as soon as he tried to get you back. You truly were the worlds most hopeless romantic, your heart not only beating for him but for the concept of love as well.

You clung onto him like he was oxygen.

And maybe he was. Maybe Lityerses was the breath in your lungs, maybe that’s why it burned when he was gone. Why you’re always safe with him but get hurt once he leaves.

He presses a kiss against your hair, muttering something that resembled an apology. You bit your lip but looked up at him.

“I do care,” you tell him softly. “I know,” he responds.

He was your night in shining armor, your Lit.

You sighed into him, sinking deeper and deeper into his warmth. He was— is— all you need.

His fingers tangled in your hair and you softly chuckled at the soft kisses he pressed to your face. You muttered his name and he only hummed in response.

“I love you,” your words are so soft the wind could’ve blown them away. Never to be heard by Lityerses. But, he heard you. He always does.

“I love you.” He repeats back after a moment, more sure than you were. More hard. He knew what he wants and who he is- and what he wants is you.

I think Cedric (post-canon, hypothetical alive version) should take up painting. It's a suitably posh and nerdy hobby, he could try to capture some of his memories of Meridian (the flowers in Phobos' garden would make for banger paintings, probably), and it would also be the biggest Fuck You to Phobos. Get painted, you iconoclastic bitch.

This would probably never happen because Cedric would rage-quit two wonky brushstrokes in, but hey, maybe he can use art to work on his temper.

I didn't know what snippet to choose so I took the instructions literally and will share what I just wrote. Well, it's been a while because I'm on a writing break/block/pit of darkness/whatever we want to call it, but this is literally the last thing I wrote.

It comes from the longfic I'm working on and it's when Elyon is trying to sort out the origin of a threat she has to deal with in her world, and has to ask for help to the last person anyone in their right mind would go to...

Phobos was tending his roses, as usual, when she entered the garden. He turned to look at her and smiled first, as he nearly always did when she visited now, but the smile was immediately replaced by a frown. 

“You suspect me,” he addressed her immediately. It had to be painted on her face. “And you tortured Cedric because of this.”

The clouds in the sky moved, expanding and eating up the blue, and they gradually darkened, until there was no sign of a clear sky anymore - only the same gray as in Phobos’s eyes. 

Elyon let out a snort. “It seems I’m spending a bit too much time in here.”

Phobos did not seem too amused by her joke. “How can you even suspect me, after all this time, and after I-” He waved his hands in the air in frustration, starting to pace around the garden. “I wouldn’t even know where to start, if I wanted to attack you in the real world! And it’s bloody humiliating to even admit that.”

Elyon took a few steps into the garden, coming closer to him. “I know you’re not responsible for this… at least, not now. But if you know anything about this… you need to tell me.”

Phobos kept pacing back and forth like a beast in his cage, trying to calm down. Elyon waited patiently. He had made significant progress in the past few years, but he still had occasional moments of frustration, when he was reminded of his situation and of the fact that he would never see the real world again. 

He spoke again only after a while and after he’d slowed down his pacing and taken a few deep breaths. “As a matter of fact, I do know something. I had time to think, you know - that’s what I’m here for after all, isn’t it?”

Compassion flushed through Elyon for a brief moment. And yet this time it was not the usual pity that bloomed in her chest every time she thought about how her brother must have felt in his prison, alone for the rest of his days. This time, there was some excitement prickling somewhere in the back of her mind - if Phobos confirmed what she already suspected, perhaps, things could change…
