Rhea Silvia (Saber) (Face claim is South Dakota from Azur Lane)
Rhea Silvia was the birth mother of twins Romulus and Remus, and the beloved of the war god Mars. By birth she should have been the queen of Alba Longa, but her uncle Amulius took over the throne and consigned her to becoming a Vestal Virgin, a priestess in service of the goddess Vesta who was not allowed to have sex, ergo not allowed to complicate Amulius's succession to the throne by having her own child of royal blood.
However, one day as she was fetching water by the sacred springs, Rhea was spotted by Mars who became instantly infatuated with her beauty. Despite initial protests, Rhea became involved with Mars, breaking her vow of celibacy and bearing Mars two sons. Mars, by way of apology, promised her that her sons would be destined for greatness, even though she would suffer.
Both Amulius and the goddess Vesta became furious with her, Amulius for her rearing brats that might take the throne from him and Vesta for her breach of faith. In the end, Rhea was able to take the twins to term, but Amulius ordered that the children must be killed immediately. Unfortunately for him, Romulus and Remus were able to be absconded away to the Tiber river, set adrift to eventually be found and raised by Lupa the mother wolf. The fate of Rhea herself becomes murky after this, some accounts say she was forced to dedicate herself to Vesta again, some say she drowned herself in the Tiber in grief, etc.
Despite a general lack of combat abilities in life, as the beloved of the war god Rhea has received significant boons from Mars to aid her second life. Notably, the Sword Of Mars, most famously wielded by Atilla the Hun; also known as Photon Ray. The reason she qualifies as a Saber is because she manifests with the gift of Ortus Roma Photon Ray. Or, the Photon Ray of Rome's Origin. In addition to this, the skills required to actually utilize proper swordsmanship were gifted through Mars's blessing.
Ortus Roma differs from normal Photon Ray primarily in the application of its abilities. It remains the top tier of divine constructs, but rather than being specialized for decimating entire armies as the engine of war (as it is in Altera's hands), it becomes a construct best suited for destroying obstacles in the way of her child (Rome), an anti-fortress Noble Phantasm best suited for absolute decimation at closer range.
As the mother of Rome, Rhea receives ability buffs when on Roman soil, as well as a great boost to charisma. Romans will find themselves naturally feeling positively about her, and she can ingratiate herself into just about any facet of roman society without issue. It's also really useful for things like haggling. She comes across as naturally trustworthy in a way that all romans accept.
Romulus is Rome, and Rome is Romulus. Therefore, Rome is her child. Rhea views this truth as absolute, that even the ground she walks upon is an extension of Romulus, and thus will do anything in her power to protect it. Her wish, however, is to give Remus another chance at life, as his was taken from him prematurely. ...Rather, her deepest held wish is to be given the chance to raise her beloved sons Romulus and Remus for herself, but she believes it's far too selfish for her to think that, so she discards this wish and derides herself for wanting it. She believes that Lupa was a better mother than she could have ever been.
Rhea has a hard time being harsh with people, even the blatantly evil. She will try to correct others when they are wrong, but even for her uncle Amulius who despises her so and tried to murder her children, she can't stop the voice in the back of her mind that says "Surely there's something I'm missing here", wanting to give the benefit of the doubt until she truly can't anymore. Her low self esteem doesn't help. And yes, Amulius is also in Pax Romana, because it's fun to torment protagonists.
Her Master is Trajan, and although Trajan is still in his youth (as much as 25 is youth) at this point in time, she can see traits in him much like those of Mars and her sons. She wants to help him as he tries to ascertain what, exactly, makes a good leader. Because even beyond him being her Master, she can tell, one day he will become a great leader or a great monster, depending on what answer he finds at the end of that path. (Trajan, for context, was given seat of emperor by former emperor Nerva despite having no blood claim to the throne, some decades later)
