for a WHILE now i've had an idea for an instrument i call the OPTIGURDY that is part optical sound synthesizer utilizing a tonewheel (a la optigan) but played like a hurdy gurdy where the wheel is hand cranked to alter frequency and the keys switch the active phototransistor with one for each track on the wheel but i have rudimentary at best knowledge of electronics so the idea has collected dust haunting my mind.
and now i have just discovered someone already made it.
