This excerpt is from the junior novel Spark of the Resistance by Justina Ireland. It's a quick read if you're longing for some Poe Dameron content!

The illustrations in the book are made by the one and only Phil Noto, who also illustrated some Star Wars comics including, but not limited to, the Poe Dameron comics. Which you should definitely read if you love some tasty Poe Dameron content.

My Poe comics came today so here’s what I got so far

it's so damn funny watching the force awakens after reading the poe dameron comics and hearing han's "it's the resistance" when poe comes in clutch when you think about han's only actual experience with them being accidentally trying to pull the exact same heist as poe and going "fuck, leia sent them, better not take that and let them have it, sorry sweetheart, love you in a dramatic flashback way but i'm gonna duck out before they know i was here" and the fact that about the same time the resistance were almost getting their five pilots killed trying to steal fuel to keep their x-wings off the ground and then they're setting them up in the movie as the ultimate mythical badasses when they were broke and understaffed as hell. i love them but it's true.

and i also wanna know poe's thoughts on han because threepio literally trauma dumped in the comics to poe about han leaving them to go back to smuggling without any provocation. the moment they were in a slightly sketchy place he just went oh I miss han my old friend and lamented about their estrangement like a child of divorce to poe the moment he was away from leia. and that's after poe was wondering in before the awakening about leia's grief and the unspecified rumours as to why. i know poe has silent beef.

and were those rumours just about han or ben too? did they ever answer in the movie's novels if poe ever knew or figured out that kylo ren was leia's kid, or what the hell that situation was because you can't tell me no one looked at leia who had a son everyone would have known about that's nowhere to be seen and then at the new vader and didn't connect the dots. it frustrates me the sequels never went into that, especially when he started flaunting his face because you can't tell me no one looked at this extra 6ft tall mf and went yep that's gotta come from anakin skywalker somehow and leia figuring out how to explain that

HOW DO YOU HAVE THE FIRST 20POE COMICS WHERE DID YOU GET THEM FROM IM STRUGGLING TO FIND THEM 😭😭😭

I've been getting them one at a time through Amazon, but I started collecting a couple of years ago, so I don't know how easy it is to find the early ones anymore.

i just got the first comic in the Poe Dameron Charles Soule run from the library (fucking LOVE public libraries folks) and i am freaking OUT

the art is beautiful and its my bOY AND I LOVE HIM

I finished/updated a new chapter of my Poe Dameron & Jessika Pava story that I definitely should not be spending any time on at all because I have a ton of other stuff to do and it’s ridiculous how happy and accomplished that makes me feel. It’s a story that I know is not brilliant – it’s my first venture out of my usual comfort zone of drabbles and very short vignettes – and that hardly anybody reads but I feel kind of proud for not having abandoned it even though I really got stuck for a bit. Makes me realize that I just need to always find at least some time to read and write; that’s just a part of me and I’m really really miserable if I can’t.

I like the idea of Mr Bones being rehomed in whatever new Temple Rey founds. They get together a bunch of training droids and then there's this one blaring "SHALL I PERFORM EDUCATIONAL VIOLENCE ON THE PADAWANS?"

The two of them had so much potential from the moment they met. Poe was one of the first few people to treat Finn like an actual person and even gave him a real name rather than a number. Plus we have the infamous jacket scene where Finn goes to return Poe’s jacket that he pulled from the crash, now that he knows Poe is alive. Poe looks at him and how the jacket looks on him and says “No, keep it. It looks good on you” with a little lip bite.
