I noticed that when it comes to Pokemon Legends: Arceus and the discussion of how modern characters would react to the Faller characters disappearing, it's usually based around Ingo and Emmet. Understandably so, because separating those two brothers can start a whole fanfic series in itself.
But does anyone wonder about Akari/Rei? Do you think their mom, Barry, or Professor Rowan wonders where on Earth did they go? It's begging for some ideas if there aren't any already!
Still been kind of sick so I’ve rewatched Gravity Falls over these past few days; I’d forgotten how much I liked it as a kid, couldn’t help but try and put my favorite characters/media into the show’s style and world. (Especially seeing as how similar Ingo and Emmet’s situation is to Ford and Stan’s). Very fun exercise!!
i think i got attatched to the idea of ingo acting like a guardian for akari and rei. the two of them look so alike and i like to imagine that they act like siblings, so ingo seeing them gets some serious deja vu from his own forgotten life and basically adopts them right there.

i have a whole indulgent silly au where basically Akari is truly isekai'd from a world like ours, where pokemon is a game/franchise, and lands in Hisui absolutely hyped out of her mind to be there with real pokemon. Rei is the 'should be' protagonist and is the main one fed up at Akari for treating 'life like its a game'. Also she ends up appointed to work with Ingo, because he's also an isekai'd guy and Rei and they just have a bunch of found family adventures.
Also i headcanon that ingo never learned to make pokeballs and always just buys them. some habits are hard to break!
So I was reading an article in the most recent issue of Smithsonian Magazine where one of the archaeologists they reference is named Ingo and I thought "Hah thats funny... wait why haven't I seen any AUs where Ingo accidentally becomes a historian/archaeologist because he sees all the inaccurate assumptions about the clans and feels the need to correct them???" So uh. Here it is!
The Accidental Archaeologist AU! this is very silly and I might just post some headcanons but I still like it a lot, as an archaeology lover myself
Premise: After returning to the present, Ingo visits Sinnoh and visits a museum dedicated to the clans and the pre-nationalisation of the region, but finds it not only woefully lacking in concrete fact, some stuff is just plain wrong! Rei tried telling the museum but they didn't believe him, so (With Rei and Emmet's support), Ingo makes it his mission to get all this stuff figured out - and it turns out to be a harder task than he could have ever predicted!
