I'm not sure if I've ever given anyone the opposite impression through my writing or anything else, but I love how Pokemon characters nowadays are allowed to be more flawed without being outright villainous. I actually liked that Geeta kind of sucked as both a manager and a trainer because that's more interesting than another perfect champion. Kamado banishing us hit harder than any act an evil team boss has ever committed. I love Drayton's manipulative and mean streak. I love Kieran for being terminally fourteen. I love Carmine's arrogance and hot-headedness. I love Cyllene's harshness. I love that Penny was allowed to commit some grand larceny as a treat. I love how many of the characters on this list are female and the fandom loves them no differently than flawed male characters.
doodles from sunday's submas aggie! (hosted by @archivaltrains )
mostly wing au stuff <3 submas, a corner of zisus and her zorua, cameos from Rei (protag) and Cyllene.
and then! an emmet. just a normal guy. someone drew ingo in a vest (i think it was @opossumonashelf ?) so i drew emmet in a matching vest next to him :P
BRUH! Dont leave us hanging with Iscan and Ingo being imprisoned, please? How do they escape?!?! How do others/clan leaders/fellow wardens react?!?! Does anybody pinch Kamado in the face as he deserves?!?! (I LOVE this au! Youre doing great! <3)
Wardens Iscan and Ingo got some help in different ways. Rei would sneak in to bring potions to relieve the pain in their wrists from the shackles rubbing their skin raw. Prof Laventon would bring updates to them about what is happening outside and with their clans. He wasn't allowed to leave the village to give news of their whereabouts to the clans unfortunately. And after a few weeks when things started to get worse, Cyllene snuck Iscan a file to attempt to escape with.
It took a while but Iscan was eventually able to scratch out all the binding symbols allowing him to phase out of them, then he did the same for Ingo.
No one got in their way in getting their armor, celestial flutes, and pokemon (in Ingo's case) back. Cyllene was the only one they came across initially and she pretended not to see. Escaping from the village itself was not hard especially as Kamado had taken every able bodied villager on a the multi day treck to the peak of Mt Corenet.
So, since PLA was the game that basically went "You're faced with death every single day! 😁" and made numerous references to the player probably dying out in the wild, I wonder if they'll go the extra (bonkers) mile and give us a Catacombs-based area in PLZA, like if there's levels to explore underneath Lumiose.
