you know what really makes me sick (affectionate)? Thinking about the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society universe. I mean, there’s a lot of interaction between those losers that we never get to see. There’s a lot of moments we don’t get to witness.
Imagine Chris staying late to help Trevor work out technical issues. He has a restless night that night and comes in the next day with dark eye-bags and perpetual yawning. The other members pretend not to notice his drowsiness and the hour when he retreats to his office to “do some paperwork” (take a nap).
imagine Max and Sandra going on a date to their favorite restaurant. It’s not good food, but they consider it to be “their” restaurant. Sandra used to work there before she joined the CPDS and quit because of scheduling conflicts. But there was a brief period when she did both and Max ran into her one day and fumbled his order. He was mortified but Sandra thought it was cute, and that’s why they keep on going there.
imagine Robert’s sister bringing Chris to one of the Grove family dinners. When she’s in another room Chris and Robert are immediately at each other’s throats. Chris is pissed, Robert is bitter. Lucy’s just nervous about the heirloom vase that Robert looks like he’s about to throw at Chris.
imagine Annie and Trevor hanging out together and talking about the other members. Annie asks about the BBC guy and Trevor changes the subject. One day Annie invites Dennis and they go out for coffee together. Dennis doesn’t seem to grasp the concept of the Starbuckian words for small, medium, and large. Trevor begrudgingly orders for him.
Vanessa’s life coach is charging her a lot of money for some crappy advice, but one day Robert does have something insightful to say. He goes on a long-winded rant about his ex Denise, but the moral of the story is that you shouldn’t be worried about what the audience will think. You should just have fun. The next play, Vanessa puts so much vigor and zest into her performance that it honestly freaks the others out. When the curtain closes she gets a standing ovation… only to realize she’s been wearing a see-through shirt the entire time.
I mean these nerds have probably spent a lot of time together, on and off screen. I enjoy thinking about their escapades and their dorky little friendships because I too am a colossal nerd.

DB Panhard HBR 5
A symbol of a bygone era when a few talented craftsmen could start in the world's greatest events, the manufacturer D.B. has won nearly 1,000 races and can boast of being the French manufacturer with the highest number of entries in the Le Mans 24 Hours to date! Born in 1932 from the meeting of two car racing enthusiasts: Charles Deutsch, a polytechnic engineer and René Bonnet, an ingenious mechanic and mechanic, Les Automobiles Deutsch and Bonnet (D.B.) built profiled racing cars with Citroën mechanics before presenting their first passenger car at the 1950 Paris Motor Show. But it was in 1954 that the idea of building a small French GT - which would thus benefit from the reputation acquired on the circuits - began to make its way. Built on an extremely rigid beam chassis and equipped with a plastic body (1st French car in polyester glass laminate), the HBR 5 coach will be produced until the end of the Deutsch et Bonnet association in 1961. It benefits from the excellent 850cc flat-twin air-cooled 850cc flat-twin from the Panhard Dyna Z, reworked by René Bonnet. The latter has equipped it with special intake manifolds, a more efficient camshaft, reinforced valve springs and a new exhaust system. With a higher compression ratio and a dual-body Zenith carburetor, it develops 58 horsepower compared to 42 in the standard sedan. The HBR5 will also be supported by a more advanced version, the "Super Rallye", with a twin engine pushed to 954 cm3 giving 72 rides. This coach was a great success because he had exceptional roadholding and enduring braking at the time. The HBR5 coach will win many category victories in most major events such as the Tour de France Automobile, Targa Florio, Mille Miglia, Les 24 Heures du Mans, the Monte-Carlo rally and the Liège-Rome-Liège.

Joseph Johnson’s Rise: From MLM Failures to Digital Success with Social Skills Inc
Chapter 1: The Dream That Never Died
Joseph Johnson was 28 when he finally said it out loud.
"Maybe MLM isn’t for me."
After five years of failure—joining one MLM company after another, investing time and money with no real support—Joseph was broken. From selling herbal supplements to water purifiers, he tried them all. Every time, the leaders would vanish after recruitment, promises would break like glass, and Joseph was left alone.
One evening, while scrolling through Facebook, he saw an ad:
"Want to earn from home with skills that actually matter? Join Social Skills Inc."
He almost scrolled past it—but the word “skills” caught his attention.
Chapter 2: A New Beginning
He attended a free Zoom orientation hosted by a man named Rahul Sen, a calm, confident leader from Kolkata.
Rahul: “This is not your typical MLM. This is skill-based networking. We sell value, not fake dreams.”
Joseph: “What makes this different? I’ve already failed in 4 companies.”
Rahul: “Because here, you sell eBooks and training videos on real-world skills—SEO, Digital Marketing, Content Writing, Social Media Management. Not plastic bottles.”
Joseph joined with the Silver Package of Rs 5000, unsure, but hopeful.
Chapter 3: Learning and Growing
Every evening, at 8 PM, Joseph attended the Zoom team building sessions.
Trainer (Anita): “Your job isn’t to chase people. Learn the skill, show the value, and let people come to you.”
Joseph learned how to run Instagram ads, write blogs, and do email marketing. Soon, he made his first 3 referrals.
Rahul (on call): “Congrats! That’s Rs 2000 extra incentive this month! You’re learning fast.”
Joseph upgraded to the Gold Package (Rs 7000). He now had access to advanced video lessons and mentorship calls.
Chapter 4: On the Road – Districts of West Bengal
With new confidence, Joseph started traveling across West Bengal to meet prospects.
Asansol: Conducted a workshop in a coaching center on how to earn through SEO.
Siliguri: Held a session with 20 college students on content writing careers.
Malda: Met local teachers interested in upskilling.
Kharagpur: Taught digital marketing basics to polytechnic students.
Student in Siliguri: “Dada, are you from a company?”
Joseph: “Yes, but not like the usual ones. This one teaches you to build your own digital business.”
His team grew. He started getting 6+ referrals every month—earning Rs 4000 monthly incentives in addition to regular commissions.
Chapter 5: The National Expansion
Joseph’s fire didn’t stop at West Bengal.
In the next 6 months, he visited:
Bhubaneswar (Odisha): Introduced Social Skills Inc in an IT training institute.
Patna (Bihar): Partnered with a local NGO for skill-based youth training.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Conducted a 3-day workshop in a coaching institute.
Chennai (Tamil Nadu): Hosted Zoom training for 50 Tamil-speaking students with subtitles.
Mumbai (Maharashtra): Collaborated with a digital marketing agency to onboard interns.
Rahul (on Zoom): “Joseph is now our official national trainer. He built a team of 100 members in 12 months.”
He received the Loyalty Bonus of Rs 5000 and more importantly—respect.
Chapter 6: Top Earner, Top Inspiration
At the annual conference held in Kolkata, Joseph was awarded the title of “Top Earner – Rs 1 Lakh in a Year”.
On stage, Joseph shared:
“I was laughed at when I failed in previous MLMs. But here, I got guidance, real skills, and a real leader. Social Skills Inc gave me a mission—not just money.”
Epilogue: The Leader Becomes the Mentor
Today, Joseph hosts daily Zoom trainings, mentors 100+ active members, and has launched his own YouTube channel, sharing tips on digital income and leadership.
Joseph (to a new joiner): “It doesn’t matter where you start. It matters how you grow. Skill, not hype, builds success.” As Joseph's network expanded, so did his responsibilities. People started depending on him not just for sales advice, but for life guidance. He formed a core leadership team of 12 from across India—people he personally trained: He now hosted two Zoom sessions daily—one for beginners at 7 PM, and one for his core team at 9 PM. With growth came challenges. Some members dropped out. Others complained about slow sales. One night, after a draining call, Joseph sighed. Joseph began a new initiative called “Skill Before Sale”—a 7-day challenge where no one was allowed to recruit. They had to focus on building skills instead. Results? His retention rate improved. He knew now—education is the real fuel of MLM done right. In month 10 of his journey, Joseph took his dream beyond imagination. At the Social Skills Inc. Anniversary Conference, a crowd of 800+ gathered at Science City Auditorium, Kolkata. Rahul Sen opened the event. Joseph was called on stage. Tears welled in Joseph’s eyes as he spoke: The hall erupted in applause. Now Joseph is working on launching his own product line under the Social Skills Inc. affiliate system—a mini-course on "Personal Branding and Content Strategy for Beginners." He plans to travel to tier-3 cities next year and build offline learning centers powered by Social Skills Inc. Every Sunday, he hosts a motivational live called "From Zero to Lakhs", where he shares stories of small-town individuals making it big with skills.

A day in the life of a college basketball player in aklan polytechnic college:
The Aklan sun, still hidden before dawn, had just begun to touch the horizon when the relentless buzzing of my alarm jolted me awake. 5:00 AM. Another day, another opportunity to pursue my dreams on the court at Aklan Polytechnic College. The well-known soreness in my legs served as a reassuring reminder of yesterday's vigorous training. Being a college basketball player here involved more than just playing games; it encompassed the tireless dedication, the early mornings, and the steadfast commitment to the team.
A fast meal of pan de sal and coffee energized me, getting me ready for the day to come. The campus remained tranquil as I made my way to the gym, the chilly morning breeze a sharp difference to the warmth that would develop later. Weight training initially played a vital role in our routine. My colleagues were present, their determined expressions mirroring the motivation I experienced. Coach Reyes, a legend within Aklan's basketball community, shouted directives, his voice resonating across the gym. We concentrated on enhancing strength and stamina, understanding that physical superiority was just as important as tactical proficiency.
Following an hour drenched in sweat, we transitioned to film analysis. In the compact, climate-controlled team room, we carefully examined our previous match, breaking down plays, pinpointing errors, and planning for our upcoming rival. Coach Reyes's keen observations were crucial; he highlighted minor weaknesses in our play, suggested fixes, and stressed the importance of teamwork. It wasn't solely about viewing the game; it involved grasping the strategy, predicting our rivals' actions, and honing our collaboration.
A brief meal of kinilaw and rice offered essential energy ahead of the afternoon's rigorous practice. Practices, practice games, and numerous shots occupied the hours. The court was a scene of perspiration, resolve, and amiable rivalry. We motivated one another, rejoiced in each other's achievements, and gained insights from our errors.

John Edward London (January 13, 1905 – May 2, 1966) was an athlete who competed mainly in the 100 metres. Born in British Guiana, he won a silver and a bronze medal at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam.
He moved to London as a child. At some point, his family moved back to British Guiana, where London attended Queen’s College in Georgetown.
He studied at the Regent Street Polytechnic, where he joined the Polytechnic Harriers. He was elected captain of the sports club. He was an early adopter of starting blocks rather than digging footholds in the cinder tracks.
