Chroma X Recipe - Classic Chrome Street & Portrait Edition
Tumblr media
Fujifilm recipe for striking images on all cameras with Classic Chrome film simulation. Great for street and portraits with high contrast. IvanYolo Introducing the latest and most challenging recipe yet - Chroma X! This Fujifilm film simulation recipe is guaranteed to test your skills as a photographer, as it requires specific lighting conditions to achieve a stunning look. While it may not be for everyone, if you're up for the challenge, give Chroma X a try!Chroma X is a custom setting created for streets and only works on high-contrast locations. To achieve this look, it is best to shoot slightly underexposed images for the light and shadow under bright sunlight while taking into consideration the areas you're shooting, such as places with buildings and dark shadows. This truly is one of the most challenging recipes out there.
About The Chroma X Recipe
After endless hours of tinkering with the settings and experimenting, the Chroma X recipe was inspired by the esteemed Downtown Bloom film simulation, known for its ability to capture stunning street photography shots. Classic Chrome recipe users have yet another reason to celebrate - the breakthrough Chroma X recipe can be used on older Fujifilm camera models and is based on the Classic Chrome film simulation. After conducting extensive testing, I have come to the conclusion that the Chroma X performs optimally without the use of any filters. This allows for the production of photos that boast vivid colors and high contrast. Upon reviewing the sample photos, it is clear that the tonal balance differs between each shot. This can be attributed to various factors such as the use of different lenses including the SIRUI Sniper lens and the Fujinon XF35mm f2 lens, as well as the varying times and locations at which each photo was taken, with and without the use of diffusion filters. The white balance shift is so subtle that it's almost imperceptible. However, this shift has been intentionally made and has slightly shifted to a colder tone, which maintains the aesthetic of Classic Chrome while also achieving some different tonal range.
Chroma X Recipe Challenge - Ready?
I hope you guys thoroughly enjoyed shooting with the Chroma X recipe and are now ready to take on this exciting challenge. As you put your photography skills to the test, I challenge you to push your limits and strive for excellence. So, are you ready to step up to the plate? ^^. Be it portraits or street photography, I would love to feature your photos in this Chroma X sample photos section, you can DM me on my Instagram @equilibrium.tt to get featured. All photos are shot with the Fujifilm X-T4.

Neon Obscura - Vibrant Cinematic Night Recipe For Fujifilm
Tumblr media
Neon Obscura
A film recipe simulates the stunning scenes from Hong Kong movies using your Fujifilm camera and neon lights
Mood: Cinematic, Low-Light, Neon Neon Obscura, is one of the most versatile cinematic film recipes ever created. Creating unique and outstanding Fujifilm recipes can be a challenging and complicated process that often requires some dedication and experimentation. It takes a lot of trial and error to produce a recipe that stands out and truly captures the desired mood and atmosphere. Therefore, after years of practice, persistence, and passion, I am thrilled to share with you my latest masterpiece: the phenomenal cinematic film recipe, Neon Obscura.Out of all the low-light film simulation recipes that I have created over the years, I must say, without a doubt, that this one is, hands down, my absolute favorite. I am particularly enthusiastic about this recipe because I've always had trouble replicating the stunning night scenes from Hong Kong movies. However, since the inception of this recipe, I can confidently say that capturing the vivacity and energy of those scenes has become a reality. This unique and mesmerizing recipe is inspired by the iconic works of Wong Kar Wai, not 100% the same but similar. I have been trying all the time but failed. I'm pleased to present this recipe; Neon Obscura is the perfect tool to add an extra touch of magic to your night shoots. It is developed explicitly for low-light conditions, which makes it the perfect recipe if you want to achieve cinematic-looking nighttime shots.
Understanding Neon Obscura Cinematic Film Recipe
The Neon Obscura cinematic film recipe is an exceptional choice for those seeking a perfect blend of cinematic effects while shooting at night. The recipe is derived from one of the most reliable Fujifilm recipes and also from one of the Japanese film-like recipes, which has undergone extensive fine-tuning and re-evaluation to achieve the exact perfect blend of settings. Based on the Classic Negative film simulation, the Neon Obscura recipe has been designed to deliver an amazing array of visual effects that heighten the overall appeal of your film.Unique adjustments have been made, with a particular focus on white balance settings, which help to bring out the true beauty of your images. Whether you're a fan of the portrait or street photography, this recipe is guaranteed to get you stunning visuals even in low-light situations.Sometimes, the film grain settings may be too dominant for night shoots. I would recommend adjusting it to small/weak or turning it off completely for smoother images. It ultimately depends on what effect you want to achieve. Do you want a vintage look? Then maximize the film grain to strong! There are no hard and fast rules when shooting with the Neon Obscura. Most of the sample images were shot with the SIRUI Sniper 23mm f1.2, which has an inherent cine lens from the SIRUI Nightwalker. I like how cinematic these images look at night. If you are trying to achieve this kind of feel in your night scenes, Neon Obscura is the best choice.Neon Obscura is a highly versatile and dynamic artistic medium that truly comes to life in the presence of specific lighting conditions. To fully experience the vibrant and captivating displays offered by Neon Obscura, it is important to consider the type of lighting that will be used in the space. For optimal results, Neon Obscura works best when under white tungsten lighting or colorful neon lights.
Achieving Cinematic Results With Neon Obscura
In summary, the Neon Obscura cinematic film recipe stands as a versatile tool capable of seamlessly translating your creative vision into reality. Whether you seek to infuse your project with an air of darkness and mystery, cyberpunk or aim for vibrant and captivating portrait photoshoots, Neon Obscura excels in replicating the atmospheric allure of a cinematic movie scene. This recipe serves as a bridge between your artistic vision and the captivating visual narratives inspired by the magic of cinema. Timeless Provia SOOC Film Recipe For Fujifilm Cameras
Tumblr media
Muted Provia Film-Look Recipe for Fujifilm Cameras
Mood: Classic, Muted, Film-Look It has been awhile and lets get back to the basic with some simple film recipe. The Timeless Provia SOOC Recipe is a custom film simulation and camera settings that is created for all kind of shooting conditions and is suitable for urban street photos and portraits. Probably this is one of the first Fujifilm recipes that are created using the Provia/Standard and I think it does look great. Great news! Timeless Provia, the film simulation recipe based on the Fujifilm Provia film simulation, is compatible with all Fujifilm cameras, including the older X-Trans sensors, the X-Trans IV, and the latest X-Trans V cameras. Whether you're using an older Fujifilm camera or the latest model, you can achieve the same muted, film-like look that Timeless Provia provides. This makes it a versatile all-in-one film recipe for Fujifilm users who want to create a consistent and cohesive look across their work. So, regardless of the Fujifilm camera you use, you can apply this recipe to achieve the desired timeless look in your photos. Just follow the recipe's settings and make any necessary adjustments based on your shooting conditions and preferences.
What Timeless Provia SOOC Recipe Is All About?
Timeless Provia is a film simulation recipe based on the Fujifilm Provia film simulation that will give your photos a muted, film-like look perfect for creating a timeless feel, regardless of the lighting conditions. It's optimized to work well in both shaded and harsh sunlight environments. If your camera doesn't support certain settings like the Color Chrome Effect or FX Blue due to having an older X-Trans sensor, don't worry, as the difference will be subtle, and you can still achieve excellent results. The Timeless Provia film simulation recipe features several key adjustments to achieve its muted, film-like look. First, the color tone has been reduced to decrease saturation, creating a more subtle and subdued color palette. This helps to create a timeless feel that is perfect for any type of photography.Additionally, the shadow setting has been slightly increased to lift the shadows and bring out more details, making it especially useful for portrait photography. This allows for a more nuanced and dynamic look, even in challenging lighting conditions. Finally, the sharpness setting has been reduced to -1, which achieves a softer look without appearing too blurry. This helps to create a more organic and natural feel to the images, which complements the muted color palette and shadow adjustments. These settings have been carefully fine-tuned to work in harmony, creating a consistent look and feel across all types of photography, from portraits to street scenes. By applying the Timeless Provia recipe to your Fujifilm camera, you can achieve stunning results that capture the essence of film photography in a modern, digital format.

Fujifilm Fujicolor Pro 400H Portrait Film Recipe (Portrait Version)
Tumblr media
Japanese Color Tone for Fujifilm X-Trans IV Cameras
Mood: Japanese, Vintage, Warm Fujicolor Pro 400H has become one of my favourite film recipes for Fujifilm I can play around with the colour palettes. I decided to fine-tune this film recipe for the portrait version after the first version of Fujicolor Pro 400H for streets and creative shoots based on actual film stock. The first version is a more blueish tone, which might not be everyone's cup of tea.   So here we go with the portrait version which is warmer and magenta, that looks great for portrait shoots. I know lately that I am obsessed with Japanese film-look recipes and I find the Fujicolor Pro 400H for portraits is the perfect film recipe to be added to the list.
Fujicolor Pro 400H Portrait Film Recipe
This portrait version of Fujicolor Pro 400H is best shot slightly overexposed to maintain the contrast and can also be overexposed up to one stop for creative portraits, well if you like this kind of look. If you want to overexpose your image, I suggest doing a low-contrast scene with good lighting without blowing the highlights, it might look a little flat but nothing is perfect. If you want something more dreamy, the FX filters such as the diffusion filter also work best with the backlight portrait technique by finding the best natural light and try not to have direct sunlight behind your subject, if you get what I mean. If you don't mind blowing the highlights, go for it, as there are no rules in photography when it comes to creativity.  Alright, enough of mumbling here, let's get back to the main topic. Fujicolor Pro 400H film recipe portrait version is known as the best film simulation recipe for portraits, works excellently and is best used when there is greenery in your surrounding. You can use the exposure compensation up to +1 stop when using the backlight to create a dreamy cinematic film look.

Fujicolor Superia X-Tra 400 Film Recipe - Japanese Film-Look
Tumblr media
Fujifilm Fujicolor Superia X-Tra 400, Japanese Film Look Custom Settings for Streets & Portraits
Mood: Vintage, Japanese Film-Look A new film recipe that is intended to mimic the actual Fujifilm Fujicolor Superia X-Tra 400 35mm colour negative and this is one of the experiments I did and created based on an actual 35mm film photo sample. It might not look the same due to the constant changing of light conditions. This Fujicolor Superia X-Tra 400 is one of the Classic Negative film recipes that have the Japanese film look. The base film simulation Classic Negative is supposed to mimic the original colour negative. One of the reasons Fujicolor Superia X-tra 400 is such a great film is its high color accuracy. This film captures colors accurately and renders them with great vibrancy, making it a great choice for photographers looking to capture realistic colors.
What Is Fujicolor X-Tra 400 Film Recipe All About?
What I really like about the Fujicolor X-Tra 400 is the moody greenish tones in the dark area, based on my research on the film samples, correct me if I'm wrong. Other similar film recipes are Fujifilm Natura 1600, Fujicolor C200 & Hue Obscure. This recipe is based on the Classic Negative film simulation and mimics the high-speed daylight-balanced colour negative. Suitable for cityscape, sightseeing, travel and portraits.
* The Best Way To Shoot With Fujicolor X-Tra 400 Film Recipe
To get the best results out of this variant of Fujicolor X-Tra 400 for Fujifilm X-Trans IV cameras,  always shoot under the sunlight especially during the morning or evening. Also best use for portraits with direct sunlight as seen in the sample photos below. You can overexpose with the exposure compensation dial, up to one stop overexpose to get the mood that you want. If you want to achieve the greenish tones, make sure to shoot at something black on the background to achieve the results the look. All the streets and portrait samples are shot with the Fujifilm X-T4 and will work for the Fujifilm X-Trans IV sensor cameras including the X100V, X-T4, X-T30II, X-E4, X-S10, and X-Pro3.Are these Fujifilm recipes compatible with the newer Fujifilm X-T5, X-H2, & X-H2S? It doesn't hurt to try. I guess the tone will be the same/similar since it rely on the White Balance Shift and Kelvin temperature, I'll let you experiment with it. Cheers!

Carbon Obscura - Moody Recipe For Fujifilm X-T4
Tumblr media
Fujifilm X-Trans IV Recipe for Melancholy Streets & Portraits
Mood: Dark, Melancholy Here is one of the second Obscura recipes as promised which is called Carbon Obscura after successfully testing Vision Obscura with a few photographer friends of mine. This recipe is specially created for creative moody portraits and street photography. This might not be an ideal recipe for everyone because it will work only under certain lighting conditions and locations. Well, just under certain conditions such as shooting downtown with buildings or backgrounds with dark colours will make this recipe shine!
What Is Carbon Obscura Recipe All About?
The melancholy colour tone is inspired by one of the music videos titled "When The Wind Blows" performed by one of the SNSD girls group, Yoona. I understand that it might be a lot difficult to imitate colours in music videos due to the usage of colour grading. The process of this recipe creation have turned out to be unexpected and find it quite nice. This moody recipe is created using the Classic Negative film simulation. It is fine-tuned using the Kelvin temperature that blends with a blue and yellow tone to simulate a green overlay over the dark areas and is meant for dayligh Anything that is black will be slightly cast in green colour. Some might find it similar to the muted Tokyo Dream recipe but Carbon Obscura has a slightly warm tone and look more saturated. This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but why not try something new and different? The blue and yellow white balance mixture with the Kelvin temperature is what makes the Obscura recipes for Fujifilm cameras stand out from the other Fujifilm simulation recipes I've created so far.
* The Best Way To Shoot With Carbon Obscura
This recipe is known to be shot with a background with dark areas, you can also use the exposure compensation dial to underexpose or overexpose your shots. It is excellent for shooting portraits in the downtown areas, the city centre with buildings or dark backgrounds will work great. Custom adjustments have been made to the white balance shift and Kelvin's white balance, making this Carbon Obscura recipe so moody. All the streets and portrait sample photos below are shot with the Fujifilm X-T4 and will work for the Fujifilm X-Trans IV sensor cameras including the X100V, X-T4, X-T30II, X-E4, X-S10, and X-Pro3. Let's have fun and shoot! Stay tuned for the next one if you love one of these Obscura recipes.

Top 7 Best Fuji Recipes For Fujifilm Cameras - All Time Best
Tumblr media
Here I have compiled a list of the 7 best Fuji recipes selected from the Fujifilm recipes I've created so far. From SOOC film recipes to custom film simulation recipes, these settings are great for street photography, portraits and travel use. These recipes are also my favourite and were stored on my Fujifilm camera all the time. By storing the recipes in a Fujifilm camera with only one quick touch button, I can switch to different recipes and shoot as I like. When switching and shooting with different recipes frequently, you may become confused after the shoot and have no idea which recipes you used. So, when shooting between various recipes, you can shoot at the gravel, intentionally blur your image, or snap a plain black image in between the recipes. This may aid you in knowing which recipe you shot with.
7 All-Time Best Fuji Recipes on IvanYolo.com
In this list of the 7 best Fujifilm recipes, I will include recipes that use distinct tones. Kodachrome 64 and Downtown Bloom have slight white balance shifts but will produce different results depending on lighting conditions. 1. Nomadic Mood
Tumblr media
No doubt, this is one of the best Fuji recipes for travel, which is also my favourite for candid street photography and travel sightseeing use. You will never go wrong with this recipe because it is versatile, you can shoot in daylight, indoors, outdoors, at night or anywhere you like, it's all-in-one. Straight out of camera and no editing is needed. Check Nomadic Mood recipe settings and more sample photos. 2. Vision Obscura
Tumblr media
This is one of my bespoke Obscura recipes that mimic the Kodak Vision3 250D in daylight. Some Fujifilm shooters might not like this type of muted tone but this is good if you want to get creative with your shots. For something dark & moody, the Carbon Obscura is the one to go for. This is great for street photography and uses the Classic Chrome, which is known as the best film simulation for streets. This street photography film recipe gives a great advantage for most Fujifilm X-Trans IV camera owners. Check out Vision Obscura and more sample photos. 3. Downtown Bloom
Tumblr media
This is one of my best recipes that I've been using all the time for portrait photoshoot sessions. It is recommended to use a diffusion filter. 80% of my portrait projects are shot with this recipe. If you haven't tried shooting with diffusion filters or any creative lens FX filters before, then this is the best time to invest in one of your photography accessories! View Downtown Bloom recipe settings and more sample photos. 4. Noir Bloom
Tumblr media
Noir Bloom is one of my favourite black and white film simulation recipes that I have used for shooting portraits and streets. This B&W recipe gives a moody vibe to your subject along with the dreamy bloom from the diffusion filter to get the film look. View Noir Bloom sample photos and the settings. 5. Kodak Portra 400
Tumblr media
For Fuji shooters that are obsessed with the Kodak Portra 400, you can try out my version of the Kodak Portra 400 film recipe, which has a less warm tone, is lighter for the eyes and more natural. 6. Kodachrome 64
Tumblr media
This Kodachrome 64 film recipe is worth being listed as the 7 best Fujifilm recipes and also one of the best film recipes for street photography. This recipe will yield unexpected results that you'll love when you're shooting in different lighting conditions. 7. Natura Classic
Tumblr media
For this film-look recipe, the Natura Classic film recipe is a replica of the Fujifilm Natura & Superia that is perfect for sightseeing, travel and even portrait shots. The tone that came straight out of the camera is very different and resembles vintage Japanese-style photos.
Conclusion
There go some of my all-time best Fuji recipes I've selected and used most by Fujifilm shooters out there. Have you heard of or tried any of these film simulation recipes already? Each of these my created recipes are unique and are good for certain street photography projects such as portrait photoshoot, candid streets, travel and so on. If you're asking me what are my favorite recipes, I would say it's Nomadic Mood for its moody tone, Vision Obscura for high contrast muted tone and Downtown Bloom for the dreamy portraits and cinematic look. That's all for now and happy shooting SOOC JPEG. Read the full article

Boudoir Chrome - Fujifilm X-Trans 4 SOOC Boudoir Recipe
Tumblr media
Boudoir Chrome
Fujifilm X-Trans IV SOOC Boudoir Recipe
Mood: Dreamy, High Contrast, Moody, Dramatic If you own a Fujifilm mirrorless camera and enjoy boudoir photography and want to shoot SOOC with little retouching, this film's custom settings may be for you. The Boudoir Chrome is an indoor boudoir portraits recipe which works well with indoor natural or artificial lighting such as studio lights. This special recipe works great if you would like to shoot and get instant results by playing around with the lighting to create the 'light and shadow' mood for the boudoir.Boudoir Chrome is created based on Classic Chrome and further adjustment has been made to the film simulation settings to match for creative boudoir portraits shoot. I'm not an expert in boudoir shoots but this recipe gets a first-hand compliment for giving the mood and sensual feel of a boudoir. Boudoir photography is a great way to boost the model's confidence and feel empowered.Plus, it's a lot of fun for both the photographer and model because there are many creative ways to explore boudoir photography. The recipe gives a high contrast chrome tone with a heavy shadow look because this type of photoshoot required good lighting to create the mood. Boudoir Chrome is created during my second sensual boudoir photoshoot with Yumiko which was shot under indoor natural light and the use of a studio strobe. Most of my images are shot straight out of the camera with the Fujifilm X-T4, Fujinon XF35mm F2 R WR, Viltrox 56mm F1.4 and didn't go through any editing software so I think this recipe is good for Fuji shooters who would like to shoot boudoir in SOOC too. A diffusion filter can be used along with this recipe to create a dreamy boudoir look and the grain setting has been turned off to retain a clean image. You can easily access the menu on the camera and store the film recipe in the custom settings menu. This recipe works for all newer Fujifilm X-Trans IV sensor cameras including the Fujifilm X-T4, X-E4, X-T30II, X-Pro3 & X-100V models.
