Inspired by the movie's dark, atmospheric tones, I set out to create the Moody Metropolis 500T—a one-of-a-kind film simulation with custom settings that mimic the aesthetic of the Joker movie. Based on the Classic Negative simulation, this recipe underwent numerous hours of meticulous fine-tuning. My explorations took me on night photo walks through the darkest corners of Kuala Lumpur, searching for ideal settings that embody the film’s moody essence. This distinctive title was not randomly selected but was thoughtfully and deliberately chosen after much reflection. You see, as the inventor of Teal Obscure, I envisioned a specific orange teal recipe tone that I wanted to attain. However, uncertainties arose as to whether the exact hue I imagined was possible or not. After numerous experiments and tests, I eventually achieved the perfect greenish tone (intended for the teal look) that I had been seeking. From that point forward, the name Teal Obscure symbolized the tenacity and dedication required to achieve that elusive, flawless color. Movie-Like Film Simulation Recipe for Fujifilm X-Trans IV Cameras

Mood: Dark, Low-Light, Motion I've been shooting film for a while and have been looking forward to creating a motion picture film recipe for Fujifilm cameras. This is one of the film simulation recipes for night photography which is called 'Cine Obscura', a new addition to the Obscura recipes. If you haven't heard of any Obscura recipes, then you can check out Vision Obscura and Carbon Obscura. You can check out some of my Kodak Vision3 500T photo samples that I've shot on my rangefinder film camera. Alright, let's get back to the film recipe. Shooting still images that look cinematic can be really fun if you have run out of street photography ideas because you get to train your photography skills and make use of the rule of thirds frequently. In case you don't have a film camera to enjoy shooting motion picture films, you can use the Cine Obscura motion picture film recipe on your Fujifilm camera instead.

What Cine Obscura Film Recipe Is All About?

Cine Obscura is probably one of the best low-light film recipes I've ever created, inspired by the Eastman Kodak motion picture film. Created with the Classic Negative as base film simulation, this recipe can create similar colour to the motion picture film. If you like the CineStill 800T or Kodak Vision3 500T, then this Cine Obscura film recipe for Fujifilm is the best low-light camera setting for you.To get more of the movie tone, it is best used along with any diffusion filters in the market out there, whether it's from K&F, Tiffen or Moment. You can also get the highest density to make your a lot more dreamy in your photos.Shooting with the base Classic Negative film simulation at night might add noise if the ISO is too high, so you can bump down the film grain level to Weak/Small or turn it off completely if you like. The motion picture film recipe Cine Obscura is created only for night photography or videography and is not suitable for daylight use because you might end up getting a really 'cool' mood in your images.

Using Cine Obscura For Video

Can I use this film recipe for a video shoot? Of course, you can! You can set this film recipe in your Fujifilm camera for shooting video if you are not planning to use any colour grading. Most of the low-light film recipes that I have can be used for cinematic videos such as the Cira 800 and One for the Road (B&W), both film recipes are inspired by a popular film from Hong Kong. You can even go crazy by adjusting the video settings and making some epic videos like in the movies.

Mood: Dreamy, High Contrast, Moody, Dramatic If you own a Fujifilm mirrorless camera and enjoy boudoir photography and want to shoot SOOC with little retouching, this film's custom settings may be for you. The Boudoir Chrome is an indoor boudoir portraits recipe which works well with indoor natural or artificial lighting such as studio lights. This special recipe works great if you would like to shoot and get instant results by playing around with the lighting to create the 'light and shadow' mood for the boudoir.Boudoir Chrome is created based on Classic Chrome and further adjustment has been made to the film simulation settings to match for creative boudoir portraits shoot. I'm not an expert in boudoir shoots but this recipe gets a first-hand compliment for giving the mood and sensual feel of a boudoir. Boudoir photography is a great way to boost the model's confidence and feel empowered.Plus, it's a lot of fun for both the photographer and model because there are many creative ways to explore boudoir photography. The recipe gives a high contrast chrome tone with a heavy shadow look because this type of photoshoot required good lighting to create the mood. Boudoir Chrome is created during my second sensual boudoir photoshoot with Yumiko which was shot under indoor natural light and the use of a studio strobe.Most of my images are shot straight out of the camera with the Fujifilm X-T4, Fujinon XF35mm F2 R WR, Viltrox 56mm F1.4 and didn't go through any editing software so I think this recipe is good for Fuji shooters who would like to shoot boudoir in SOOC too. A diffusion filter can be used along with this recipe to create a dreamy boudoir look and the grain setting has been turned off to retain a clean image.You can easily access the menu on the camera and store the film recipe in the custom settings menu. This recipe works for all newer Fujifilm X-Trans IV sensor cameras including the Fujifilm X-T4, X-E4, X-T30II, X-Pro3 & X-100V models.
