#Pride and Prejudice x Good Omens

Don’t mind me, just out here creating Jane Austen memes out of Good Omens stills while processing season 2 (Go watch it!). I’m sure Aziraphale would approve.
Pride and Prejudice x Good Omens
Tumblr media
Just like Crowley, Elizabeth knows what’s coming, and she wishes she didn’t have to be there.
Tumblr media
I wonder what Wickham’s punishment in the Good Omens hell would have looked like.
Tumblr media
“Ah! Jane, I take your place now, and you must go lower, because I am a married woman.” I kinda love how obnoxious married Lydia is.
Tumblr media
Truly one of my favourite moments in Austen’s novels, and any love story ever, is Mr. Darcy declaring Elizabeth “tolerable” and looking at her again to confirm his original verdict, only to go: “Daaamn. I was wrong.” (Also, the things I’d do to get a version of Darcy that does the Good Omens apology dance for Elizabeth.)
Tumblr media
Thankfully, 10k a year helped Mrs. Bennet to change her mind about Darcy again very quickly.
Tumblr media
The biggest change I’ve gone through since first getting into Austen was definitely going from loving Mr. Bennet because of his sarcasm to thinking he’s actually kind of awful.

Caroline Bingley, the original pick-me girl?

- Dancing.
Even if one's partner is barely tolerable."

You remember Jane Austen? Yeah. I'm not gonna forget her in a hurry, am I? The brains behind the 1810 Clerkenwell Diamond Robbery. Brandy smuggler. Master spy. What a piece of work. She wrote books. Novels. Jane? Austen? Yes! Whoa, bit of a dark horse. Novels, eh? Yes. They were very good. Good Omens (2019-) || Pride and Prejudice (2005)

If we don't get Aziraphale in a soaking wet dress shirt and Crowley's jaw dropping open, then why even have a Pride & Prejudice theme?

I noticed something.... in S2, Aziraphale is pulling a Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)
The way he begged Crowley to come to Heaven with him seemed so much like Darcy's failed attempt to get Elizabeth to marry him.
Darcy and Aziraphale both really were super selfish with how they expected Elizabeth and Crowley to accept their proposal. Darcy made a comment about Elizabeths social class and Aziraphale did the same thing when he assumed that Crowley would want to be an angel and not a demon because Aziraphale still has that demon=bad mindset. Darcy and Aziraphale did not truly understand what Elizabeth and Crowley really wanted and it bit them in the ass majorly.
If S3 is supposed to be the last bit of Pride and Prejudice then dear lord..... noone and I mean NOONE is ready for when Aziraphale finally confesses to Crowley about how much he truly loves him. It would be Aziraphale speaking from the heart and loving Crowley for who he his as a person and if it's anything like Darcy's proper confession to Elizabeth then Tumblr is gunna be a happy mess 😭

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune (Mr. Fell), must be in want of a wife (Crowley).
Oh Jane, you bitch. You smartass. You met both of them. You were kinda friends. And you just knew, didn't you.

[Image description: A meme. The text on top says:
“Caroline Bingley: *puts Elizabeth down in front of Mr Darcy to make herself appear in a better light*
Elizabeth:”
Below is a picture of Pepper from the TV show Good Omens. One of her eyebrows is slightly raised and she looks a bit dismissive, saying: “Another deluded victim of the patriarchy.”]

Crowley watches Pride and Prejudice to cope with his divorce.
Maybe he will end another Armageddon to win back his ex. What? Like it’s hard?

Here is a nice recommendable playlist on Spotify which has been compiled by a Good Omens fan: "You Idiot. We could've been us." And here are a few thoughts of mine about that break-up scene of Aziraphale and Crowley. When I watched it in Good Omens season 2 (episode 6) for the first time, I was heartbroken. When I watched it for the second time, I felt heartbroken too. All the emotions! When I rewatched it for the third time, I noticed a lot more of the acting details:
Aziraphale, almost giddy with joy as he tries to tell Crowley the - in his eyes - good news about his promotion in Heaven. So giddy in fact that he has trouble to find the right words for a few seconds. Crowley's anger. The way he looks down, trying to gather some strength for what he wants to say. The way he stops mid-sentence when he says, "And I would like to spend -" and then looks away from Aziraphale, out of the window, before he starts talking about how Gabriel and Beelzebub went away together. And later how Aziraphales voice becomes even higher than before, almost breaking as he exclaims, "I need you!" And there are several more interesting details in that scene. Some have even compared it to Mr Darcy's first proposal in "Pride & Prejudice" which didn't turn out the way he hoped for - specifically the 1995 adaption with Colin Firth as Mr Darcy. Which you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K_9vpUnxh0

TWO ARE FILLED WITH INSULTS AND HOW CAN YOU NOT ACCEPT IT...
ONE OF THEM BOILS DOWN TO 6000 YEARS OF PINING AND STAY WITH ME
ONE OF THEM COMES DOWN TO RUNNING AWAY AND STARTING NEW.
BUT IT STILL FEELS THE SAME. NOW I HAVE ONLY EMPTINESS.
WHY IS HEARTBREAK AND SECOND CHANCE EVEN A GENRE???
