Did you know that Canon uses 2 different symbols to check its ink levels?? 🤔🤔 ✔️ "!" symbol basically tells that the ink cartridge level is empty and it should be changed as soon as possible. ✔️ "x" symbol shows that the ink level is dry and should be changed at the earliest.

After you have refilled your cartridge, you can print a test page to see the quality of the print.

Week 1 - Reflection

The flipside theme I have chosen is Conflict and Peace because similar topics have come up before during my journey of my GCSE and college art courses. However, I have never picked it simply because it’s out of my comfort zone completely. I’ve wanted to do this topic because I had so many good ideas for it as well as I love many different conflicts that’s have happened. For example, WW1 and WW2. People in my family have thought in these wars but some are dead but passed done their stories to my Grandparents. I thought my Grandparents would be amazing wider world research and as well I feel that as well I can explore this theme and representing different pieces for my Great Grandparents who sadly pasted away.

The initial research I have done is mind map and mood boards on conflict and peace. I first did a mind map of my own ideas of on conflict and peace. For example, what I thought about it? The means of it, keywords and examples of that topic. This helped me gather all my ideas of each topic but when I did my mood board it changed my concept a lot. The reason being I looked more into each topic and realised that what I thought at first had something to do with either conflict or peace. However, there was so much more into each topic then just hippies for peace and war for conflict.

It has helped me develop my ideas a lot as it’s made me realise how much more I can explore this topic and produce work and talk about things that some people might not ever know about. For example, Women, Peace and Security. Which is a UN Women support group were they support women’s full and equal representation and participation in all levels of peace process and security efforts.

The materials I used were my sketchbook, sharpies, ruler, tracing paper, pencil, PS Express and Bazaart. The techniques I used were digital art, where I used editing apps such as PS Express and Bazaart. Whilst using these editing apps I’ve learnt how to create a mirrored imagery and collage images together. I have learnt that the materials sharpies I should not be scared of because they are actually a good material to use. Before I started this course I hated to use sharpies because it was that material that if I made a mistake I couldn’t fix it. However, using sharpies through this course has helped me gain confident with using sharpies within my work. When I draw my face drawings with sharpies it made me feel a lot more comfortable with making mistakes with sharpie and drawing with them.

I have pushed my practical task independently by when I was creating my mirrored images I choose some of my photography work that I’ve token during the past year and edited them. I edited the filter they had so I made it more bright and bolder. Then I edited the layout by mirroring the images just like I did with my face images.

The practical problems I faced was I had no printer to print off my face imagery to create my drawings for one of my tasks this week. I emailed my tutor to try and get the college to print them off however its snowed quite bad and the college was shut. Therefore, I had to email them to my Grandma so she could print them off for me and after the snow had disappeared to then drop them down to me. So I have been a bit behind but have lucky catch up on my work.

#saturdayvibes my computers hard drive crashed this week so I’ve had to use ol trusty, my first laptop I bought that my son has ripped all the keys off of. Can’t use my label writer because my system is too old & need 5000 updates so I plug in my ol trusty printer & Finally got my printer software downloaded & am able to print, so I work on my cards. while Im at Walmart I Find a new wireless printer for 24 bucks last night (score) only to get home & not be able to use it because my computer won’t update to be able to download software to be able to print from computer or phone. So I plug back in my ol trusty printer to print labels this morning & get to my last two labels & I run out of INK. Luckily I got 3 packages done & im going to let my VA do their thing today & me and my little miss are going to go hiking or something & look for cool rocks to take a break from reality for a minute. What to do when your printer in not printing with MAC OS X?

HP printer does not print on Mac OS X

If your HP printer shows the "printer is detached" or "printer not responding" message, you should just reset your HP printer settings in your Mac working structure. The given advances will settle your printing issues over all of the types of Mac OS stages.

Step I-Click the "Apple menu"

Step II-Click "Structure Preferences"

Step III-Depending on the interpretation of your OS X, click "Print and Fax" or "Print and Scan" or "Printers and Fax" (whichever elective is appeared in your OS)

Step IV-Right-snap or hold the control key and snap the reasonable space in the Printers list

Step V-Click "Reset Printing System"

Step VI-Click "Reset" to assert that you have to reset the printing structure

Step VII-If incited, enter the "Manager Name" and "Mystery word"

Step IX-Click "okay"

Step X-Add your printer to the print line.
