you know how it's fairly common for people to name their kids after bible characters?

Well, N and V's names are just the letter, so I could see a trend where drone parents start picking names that start with one of those letters as tribute and/or for good luck

want your kid to grow up strong or live a long life? Perhaps give them a name that starts with V, after the angel of death

want your kid to be kind or overcome any hardship they may face? Consider a name that starts with N, after the fool ascended (he is stuck with that title forever he can never escape it)

let's all think about roman literally on his knees at gerri’s feet, begging to be saved. but you can’t be saved from Logan, that’s the whole point, he is a planet of a person he’s a black hole he is every decision already made. gerri tries to get him to see this — there’s no way out, no move they could possibly make against him, because Logan. always. wins. maybe if roman could give her one reason to fight for him, but there aren’t any. it’s pointless. it has nothing to do with roman, really, and everything to do with the harsh reality that Logan is the center of their universe. but all that nuance is completely lost on roman, because in that room he is seven years old again and always. and when she asks how it serves her interests, what she is saying is show me a way out, but what he hears is that she doesn't care about him. and maybe she never did.

also now that last bit is up, i'll say it. i think asmodeus should take time out of his very busy day to try to zerxus-ify amaris. a beleaguered, confused now-widower who his everpatient sister loves so very much? who got to raise his sanctimonious brother from childhood, see him bright and unaware in a way none of them have been since the dawn of time? unacceptable. if you think about it, asmodeus has to torment him. if only to draw a line in the sand. mortals can't start thinking they can get away with that sort of behavior (loving the people he loves when he wasn't there).

I think Ron is actually very good at business but 1) calls everything the wrong words because he didn't like the original words and 2) gets very distracted while he's doing it so he'll just wonder off whenever he gets bored

I've actually been scrounging for an ending to Ellenville, because it's hard to actually 'end' a tragedy with something that feels complete, and that last post hit me with yeah, that's right. Because we live in a world where blood is protection and the cost of safety; and it fits in so neatly with the themes of death as stasis and longevity.

The 'end' is the regulations in place. Not even watching it happen, but success. This is The Pushcart War but epic fantasy.

not to be bitchy or anything but I’ve started listening to the let’s talk dog business podcast and I literally hate 50% of their guests. it’s half interesting industry person with good advice and half absolute wackjob who talks about dogs being magnets or homeopathy or suddenly goes on a huge tangent about their “walk with Jesus” OR they accidentally tell on themselves for being a horrible boss. Like “oh I noticed people would work with me for 15 months and then leave for another job or start their own business… so I realized I should switch to consulting instead!” huh, have you considered that maybe not being able to retain staff isn’t something to brag about?
