We have laws on the books already that are meant to regulate pollution and emissions from manufacturing and production facilities,” said Anja Brandon, US plastics policy analyst at the Ocean Conservancy, a nonprofit that works to protect oceans and marine life. “Namely in this instance, the Clean Water Act, kind of our bedrock environmental law. These laws haven’t been updated to meet the needs of the moment,” said Brandon. In most of the country, she explained, “plastic nurdles have essentially gotten off scot free because they have yet to be classified or specifically labeled as a pollutant.” The rare exception is California, which in 2007 became the first and so far only state to pass a law classifying nurdles as pollutants to be regulated under the Clean Water Act, citing their contribution to litter on beaches and the possibility that they could be mistaken for food by marine animals.

As bourbon booms, thirst for rare brands breeds skullduggery
SALEM, Ore. — Buttery, smooth, oaky. These are characteristics of the best bourbons, and a growing cult of aficionados is willing to pay an astonishing amount of money for these increasingly scarce premium American spirits — and even bend or break laws.
Premium spirits have always been expensive and sought-after. But a surge in interest in high-end bourbon has made finding that elusive bottle…

The task I wanted to do:
- task 1: Visualize the fourth dedekind number
What I needed to do in order to do task 1:
- task 1.1: Draw a hypercube and
- task 1.2: then give each of the 16 vertices a name - which is the 16 different "cells" (I dunno which word to use, sorry) of a venn diagram with 4 overlapping sets plus a circle around that 4-venn diagram.
- - -- ---
//additional info: For the 3rd dedekind number visualization I already posted I needed to use 20 cubes. Each of the 8 vertices of a cube was related to 3 sets - A, B and C - and the intersections of these sets. (AB, AC, BC, ABC)
You remember this post:
... and these details:
...and now back to the 4th dedekind number, which follows the same principle, - but in 4 dimensions.
- So we need a hypercube - and a 4th set/letter:
Now we have 4 letters - alias 4 sets
- and 11 combinations of these sets:
AB, AC, AD, BC, BD, CD, (6)
ABC, ABD, ACD, BCD, (4)
ABCD (1)
=> 11 different intersections + 4 "pure" sets. (sorry for ignorant wording)
So, we have 15 of these now. What is with the 16th (as the hypercube has 16 vertices)? Yeah, that one is the circle you imagine around the 4-set venn diagram.
- - -- ---
This is a 4-set venn diagramm btw:
--- -- - -
So, back to me attempting to do the 4th dedekind-number visualization:
So I started to draw that venn diagram using ellipses, but I slightly altered it, because I wanted to use my isometric grid paper. (The angles of my drawing are different than in the picture depicted above.)
I started to draw the 4 ellipses, and I somehow started to see two intertwined/interlocked tubes due to the additional helplines I used for drawing.
Then I started to use my thicker black pen to make this effect of these two interlocked tubes more visible:
Now I plan to write the sets/letters at the backside of that piece of paper - in mirrored, so I can hold this piece of paper (with the tube drawing in front) against the light - and see the letters of the set names shining through.
i might also add some details to the tubes.

i can’t help but be grateful toby fox was there for the mess that was the worst of homestuck fan behavior bc hopefully he has some coping strategies in place and isn’t too abjectly shocked by the worst of UTDR fan behavior. but it’s still a big ass yikes. and i can’t help but wonder if some of this is born of this demand for “new content” all the time at an unsustainable rate completely divorced from the realities of creation.

I miss cheese, man
Most vegan cheeses are NOT doing it 😭
Unless it's chao creamery original, which melts fairly nice and is actually pretty decent on burgers and makes for a good grilled "cheese" if you don't care about cheese pulls, but it is not a substitute for everything, I have tried 😔
There are other flavors and types under this brand but I don't know if they're any good because they aren't anywhere near me and I do not have the money to order them online.
I do know in my heart though that I am officially over vegan mozzarella, regardless of brand, because it's just not good and doesn't even taste like mozzarella, more like two kids in a trench coat pretending to be mozzarella. It's like too rich and sour, and if I attempt dairy-free pizza again in the future, it will probably be without cheese substitutes entirely, even though I still think that's a sad state of affairs. And my frustration about it is not helped by the fact that YouTube keeps bombarding me with pizza commercials 😭
I also just really fucking miss queso, there aren't any good like nice goopy fake cheeses that aren't like similarly too rich and sour. It's a sad state of affairs overall in the world of adult onset dairy allergies. If not for chao creamery original, I would have become the joker long ago I think

Olympic ticket sales for Paris Games gets off to rocky start
PARIS — Organizers of next year’s Paris Olympics promised relatively modest prices and “egalitarian” access to events, thanks to an online system meant to revolutionize ticket sales and bring the masses to stadiums and arenas for as little as $26.
As the month-long opening round of sales winds down, however, many “lucky” winners chosen to shop for the first 3 million tickets (out of 10 million…

As part of my "living history" commitment to the early to mid-19th century, I now work in a factory that routinely has employees work 13 hour days. Sometimes longer! It's great, I feel just like a Chartist from the 1840s, ready to distribute some pamphlets! Votes for ALL men!
