Most of my opinions on PruAme lean more towards platonic (GerAme truther for life) but idc if any of my thoughts are read as romantic

I really am a firm believer that Alfred was incredibly enamored with Gilbert even before the revolution, stealing gazes at the well dressed man that lord admiral father Kirkland was friends with, thinking “wow, this guy is so cool, he wears a cape…”

And even when Gilbert was beating on him and basically torturing him through rigorous training sessions, his devotion never wavered, his need to prove himself to such a powerful European nation drowning out his exasperation for how rough Gilbert was.

I think he looks back on this and realizes that so much of the foundation of his person was built by Gilbert, and his ideals (this in part by Von Steuben writing the doctrine the US military used until the war of 1812, the foundations of the military itself built on Prussian ideals) and how Gilbert was one of the first people who said “you have potential, and I won’t let you waste that, so I will hone you into a killing machine”

German culture really does have a strong influence on American culture, Germans being the second largest ethnic background of Americans, which I think translates into how Alfred internalized a lot of what he learned from Gilbert. And I think this rounds back with Gilbert taking inspiration from the boy he used to train, observing the way the Americans utilized trains to transport troops and using this in the Franco Prussian war (The Prussians also sent over generals to lead during the civil war, and observed the fighting in hot air balloons, which is a funny mental image)

His utter devotion has very much fizzled out over the centuries due to his own status as a superpower growing, and Gilbert’s power shrinking into nothing, but I know his respect for the crazy old man is still there, and sometimes he still finds himself in awe at Gilbert, his tenacity and willpower have always been traits he’s admired.

I haven’t even gotten to what Gilbert thinks of him my god but I’ll continue that in a part two I’ve been talking for too goddamn long.

TL;DR: Gilbert has always been some sort of role model to him, and Alfred once worshipped the ground he walked on, but now their relationship is much more casual

I used to ship amepan when I first got into the fandom. My very first fic for the fandom was half amepan. It still has a place in my heart, though I can’t say I’m inspired to write for it anymore.

Pruame appeals to me, but in a very messy way >:) not the endgame, but in a “this would be a fun bit of drama to introduce to a gerame fic” Ludwig and Alfred are together but he finds out Alfred used to have a crush on Gilbert or something and he has to deal with that. Oh, there was also a nyo!pru/ame fic that got requested on the kink meme that I was gonna try my hand at, but I didn’t finish that

Waaaay WAY back when, I read everything in the ameice tag too, specifically because of Sendlingur og Sandlóa. Their interactions in that fic were just so fascinating to me, but that’s another ship I don’t write for.

Other than that, I tend to have a one track mind when it comes to ships. I find one I really like for a character that gets all my focus, and I don’t really branch out from there. I haven’t achieved multishipper status yet 😅

The ‘F’ in Alfred’s middle name standing for Frederick in honor of Prussia helping him in the Revolutionary War. (And because Gilbert was, and always will be, one of his heroes).

uhhh hetalia ghosts au

so, PruAme, Alfred inherits a house, him and Gilbert decide to open a b&b yada yada go watch the show for details. The ghosts in the house consist of;

Harald, Björn, and Sigurd - Viking who died in the area in the 1020's. Like to tell people in a brothers dispute one killed the other two, and then died from wounds; actually just got lost and left behind and are too proud to admit it. Ongoing bit is them arguing about which one of them died first and therefore holds the "oldest ghost" title. Their combined ghostly power is literally just making rooms cold as fuck, due to the fact that they froze to death.

Arthur - Alfred's great x8 grandfather who died in 1779. Very proper. Very ashamed that THIS is what his family has come to. Was a loyalist in the revolution, and likes to play up being a victim of the patriots; his death was his own fault but he was tarred and feathered not long before, his 'ghostly power' is literally just leaving a trail of feathers sometimes. Very annoying for the living to have to clean up.

Molly & Lorenzo - both died in 1904, actually knew each other in life, Lorenzo was a cook and Molly was a maid; they worked for Alfred's great-great aunt who he inherited the house from. Both died from tuberculosis that one more than likely caught from the other. Lorenzo can move stuff, mostly uses it to get on Alfred when he thinks his cooking is Wrong. Molly's humming/singing can be heard just as she usually could be when cleaning in life.

Ludwig - died in 1958, was a general handyman the cellar collapsed while he was in it replacing pipes. Was actually stuck in the cellar until it was finally cleared out completely in the mid sixties. Permanently covered in dust and small pieces of debris if you walk through him you'll be covered in a similar dusting.
