peppa pig gets the quadratic formula correct, but velma doesn't

there's just so much wrong with it. how do you fuck up that badly. the x is part of the fraction. the first b isn't negative. it's multiplying the first b by the square root, instead of adding and subtracting at the same time. the square root is completely wrong. it's multiple b by 2 instead of squaring it. it's adding 4ac instead of subtracting. the only thing right about it is that they divide it by 2a.
I'm not trying to be pedantic. but it's just hilarious that a british show for toddlers can get this correct while the show that's supposed to be about a super smart mystery solver can't. and obviously this isn't the worst thing about the show. the worst things about it is that its full of racist stereotypes, all of the characters are cynical and devoid of any personality, there's underage characters being sexualized, and it was basically made to just be outrage bait to get people talking about it because bad publicity is still publicity. getting a simple formula incredibly wrong is the least offensive thing about the show.
but it's just so fucking stupid it's funny.
