As Wukong is very tickelish person while Syntax is not. And boy, Syntax take full abuse of it ✨ Plus his spider leg things 👀

Angst idea: Sometimes Syntax went to far and end up making Wukong uncomfortable while laughing. Wukong never tell him about that (since he didn't want Syntax to feel bad) I was Macaque who come and stop Syntax when to far.

Macaque: Stop it! You're hurting him!

Syntax: What I just-

Then he finally take a look on Wukong who laughing painfully as pain showing at his face trying to catch a breath. Wukong body is twitching hard on that. Syntax could see some tears flow down Wukong face..

Wukong:No- no..Im..I-m fine...

That is both so cute and so heartbreaking! Wukong would absolutely let syntax go too far if it made him happy. Unfortunately, Syntax would be horrified at the fact, and would probably retreat into himself. And as he likely already is a very reclusive person… yeah it wouldn’t be great.

Macaque would initially be angry, but immediately understand the situation for what it was, since Wukong likely did the same with him. Would help Wukong feel better and stuff, but would be scolding him the whole time for not setting a Boundary or a safe word or something. Wukong would try to defend himself against it, but is weak against it bc he knows Mac is right.

Poor Erlang is so confused by it all, and is wondering why one of his Platonic partners is refusing to legs his burrito nest, while the other and his lover are hashing it out.

It would take a very long time before Syntax felt confident enough to tickle Wukong again, or even just to touch him or the others.

To be fair, he’s more like Grandpa Sun then papa Sun. Plus they already know macaque! Syntax I feel they would take to easily, curious about his tech and unnatural spider features.

Erlang… would take time. They all remember FFM burning, and although Erlang was only following orders, it was still him that did it. The poor guy does everything he can to make up for it, even at the angry chitters of the other monkies. Once he gets pregnant though they start to warm up to him more bc now he smells like family.

How do they decide what the baby will call each of them?

It’s a bit complicated but basically:

Erlang: Mommy - 妈妈 (Mama)

Macaque: Dad - 爸爸 (Baba)

Wukong: Pa - 帕 (Pa)

Syntax: Father - 父亲 (Fùqīn)

Oh man.

Erlang has to deal with THREE partners doting on him!

Oooooh yeah! Oof I would love and hate it at the same time.

One partner hovering is bad enough, but three? Erlang is losing his mind! He’s so used to being independent, and hates feeling like he’s being treated like he’s fragile! It’s coming from a place of love, but you gotta remember that demons are VERY protective of their partners. It’s worse when they are expecting. Even if not lovers directly, even if just it’s just a QPR between him and Wukong + Syntax, the latter two are still terribly protective.

It’s nice in some reguards though. He has less chores, he can get them to fetch whatever cravings he has at the drop of a hat, and can get his way just by flashing his sad eyes bc they are WEAK to pregnant partner(Wukong/syntax) and mate(macaque). Erlang gets messages, and foot rubs, and just general pampering.

Jing, eating his third bowl of Sushi noodles: “It’s nice isn’t it?”

Erlang, devouring his second helping of fried chicken and mixed pickle ice cream: “I just wish they would let me do things myself.”

Soooo you know how Jing and Azure woopsied bc neither knew Jing could get preggo? Weelllll-

Celestial Primates, as it turns out, are much, MUCH more fertile then normal demon monkeys!

Erlang is happy, even if it’s unexpected! He’s always wanted a family, and now he gets to be preggo buddies with Jing!

Macaque… is not UN-happy. But this is def something he never really thought about. It’s a “how did this happen?!” kind of shock. With everything that’s been going on, a kid? Would he even make a good dad? Would he have time for this kid? Should he even be bringing a kid into this world with the way things are now?

His worry is… not unwarranted. Danger around every corner, enemies new and old, to bring a kid into all of this…

But Macaque sees the glimmer in his lovers eyes, the excitement in Wukongs’, and the interest in syntaxs’… and he knows that it’ll be ok. Scary for sure, but he’s got his partners.

When Jing hears about this, he will NEVER let Macaque live it down.

I’m just imagining that Erlang, Macaque, Wukong, and Syntax will end up having double the amount of kids that Jing and Azure have, with two thirds of those kids being Shadowpeach babies 🤣

Also between Shadowhound, Shadowpeach, and Monkietech, who’s the one getting pregnant?

Is it a “I carried this one you’ll carry the next one” kinda situation or is it one specific partner (in each relationship) that carries the babies?

Only because they have more partners! 🤣🤣🤣 Their Monkies! They can’t help it!

Ok, a bit more serious note. Tw for fertility issues mentioned, and mentions of past injuries and death.

Erlang and Syntax end up being the ones to carry. I see so many aus about Wukong or macaque being the ones to carry a baby, @quitealotofsodapop having some of the best and most explored. But in Lionsword… well, it’s a struggle.

They’ve gotten hurt a lot. Both as Immortal and as just… monkies. Wukong with the furnace, and mountain, and then the trauma of the circlet (twice), macaque with the FFM burning, both with the constant punches and fights that end up hurting their stomachs and torso area…

Wukong couldn’t carry at all. One of the biggest factors was the molten copper that Guanyin fed him. It didn’t kill him bc 7x immortal, but it wasn’t just a punishment like they thought it was. Turns out, that’s bad for your internal organs! In fact, Wukong struggles to conceive at all, even getting syntax preggo.

Macaques similar, but is still technically able to conceive via pregnancy. When he came back, lbd put him back together better then when he’d died, so that’s the one reason he’s even able to carry at all. Kinda bittersweet.

So while shadowpeach WOULD love to have a bunch of kids with eachother, it’s syntax and Erlang that get preggo most of the time.

OK THAT WAS ALOT OF ANGST BACK TO HAPPY FUN PREGGO-

Erlang and Syntax do take turns! Sometimes they even sync up to suffer together! One time they got pregnant alongside Jing again! To the outside perspective they were like damn rabbits!

It’s discussed more theoretically about cross babies between the poly, ie Wukong/Erlang or Syntax/Macaque. They are are unsure, since those pairs don’t really see eachother as “lovers.” Though surrogacy may be in play? They haven’t decided. (Probably not. Just tossing ideas)

Who are the big and little spoons?

While having Wukong as a little spoon would be absolutely adorable, I don’t imagine he enjoys tight spaces very much. He usually only does it with macaque on very rare occasions and not for very long. Syntax is usually the little spoon for that cuddle session.

Macaque is, of course, usually a big spoon between Wukong and syntax (Romantic and platonic cuddles). But! Even when preggo, actually scratch that ESPECIALLY when he’s preggo, Erlang is the big spoon to macaque! Macaque loves to just press his ear to his chest and fall asleep to his heatbeat. Or to his belly, and fall asleep listening to the baby. He does the same thing with syntax when the spider becomes preggo as well.

Syntax is actually a switch. He lets himself be the little spoon for Wukong, and loves to switch with macaque, and he and Erlang enjoy switching as well!

Erlang is technically a switch, but usually cuddles with Syntax end with him being the big spoon, as does his cuddles with Macaque. He’s only really the small spoon with Wukong bc again, no tight spaces. It’s a little better when Wukong is laying on top of him listening to the baby, but those don’t really count.

I can see Syntax and Wukong doing science-y things in order to conceive, like IVF or something.

If anyone could find a science-related way yo work around fertility issues, it'd be them.

It would work! But… only for syntax. Unfortunately, Wukongs damaged beyond repair. You can only regenerate so much without some scarring and other complications getting in the way.

Syntax getting pregnant for the first time was a very deliberate, planned out thing. Pure opposite to Jing and Erlangs first time. It’s also after having a few other kids via Mac and Erlang. They all keep maticulous track of things, and Jing assists in regular checkups. And everything seems to be going great! Baby’s healthy, Syntax is healthy, nothing seems to be wrong. Which is why it’s so jarring when syntax suddenly goes over one day at 10 weeks.

They rush to the ER… and the doctor (not Jing) informs them of the miscarriage. Syntax is devastated, and Wukong goes nearly numb from shock. The next few weeks are rough, with Syntax feeling responsible for it, like his body had failed, that it was his fault somehow for being “faulty”. He works even harder to find an effective IVF. Wukong on the other hand is spiraling in self-hate/pity. Macaque and Erlang had come out just fine, as had Jing and Azure and THEY all had gotten into similar fights! So it HAS to be him.

Macaque and Erlang… well they struggle a bit. Between balancing the kids, their jobs, the loss, and now the mental states of their partners, it’s a lot. All these factors make it so they wait between pregnancies. Sometimes weeks, a few months, and once even up to three years.

They get it right eventually. They have one, and then two, and the numbers slowly grow. But despite that, they still struggle. It’s something they will always struggle with.

My favorite hc about Wukong that he doesn't like hot temperature or rather he's sensitive with it. Like hot food and hot shower since it's remind him of both being bake in furnace and was force to eat melted copper.

Other thing is Wukong like physical touch but too much of it make him uncomfortable because of the heat. He never actually said anything about it. He think he doesn't have to because he himself didn't know it's bother him

It was his partners who pick up the sign of him. And they try to make Wukong comfortable with them

Oh yeah that’s def something that would make sense. Surprised it was never brought up in canon.

Wukong would def struggle with intimacy if the heat got to be too much, platonic or not. But the great thing about his partners is how cold they run.

Macaque always ran a bit cooler because of his shadow powers, and with syntax spiders are naturally cold blooded (and also his cold metal spider legs). So he’d be able to be around them for longer. They love clinging to him because Wukong runs warm bc of all the previously mentioend.

Suprisingly, Wukong and Erlang enjoy (platonic) cuddles so long as they have a fluffy blanket barrier between their bodies. (Erlang doesn’t really like skin to skin contact for a while)

Fyi macaque monkeys are typically born in pairs.

Actually they’re not! Much like humans, Macaques usually only give birth to a single infant! Twins are actually rare, and in her life a macaque mama will typically have 5 babies overall.

Now I belive that troops will have a season where all the babies are born if that’s what you meant. So Erlang syncing up with Jing may have been part of it. And any future babies that the PolyMonkeySpiderDog couple have, Syntax and Erlang will likely sync up for it without realizing it bc hormones.

I bet getting furnaced didn't help with Wukong's asthma. All that smoke and likely being given little to no medical attention while under the mountain or during The Journey, I'm surprised that he's capable of breathing at all.

Yup! Thankfully back in the day the air was less polluted bc of no machinery, but the furnace was def what started it all.

Erlang feels terrible about it for days. Jing himself doesn’t feel too proud of it. Jing, thanks to his connections as a celestial nurse, is the one who helps find the right dosage for Wukong since mortal meds don’t really work.

Poor Erlang walks in eggshells until Wukong smacks him upside the head. It’s just asthma for crying out loud! Erlang tries to protest, and they get in a few tiffs when Wukong tries to over exert himself. But ultimately they come to an understanding.

Macaque isn’t suprised. He feels terrible for Wukong, But he understands that he’s not glass.

Syntax takes to it he easiest. His sister had asthma, so he was more familiar with how it worked and the limitations to expect.

I can see them doing that both an intimate and non-intimate way.

Like, during fun times they like to leave their mark on him to show he’s theirs!

But also just.. doing it bc stimming. Never hard of course, but I can imagine syntax has sat next to Wukong and just nibbles on his arm/sleeve while reading. Or macaque nibbling hi sholders lightly when he’s anxious to calm himself down.

I don’t see Erlang being a nibbler, but he’s def a (platonic) nuzzler.

Poor Erlang would have absolutely no idea what to do, but the moment he feels that baby in his arms his internal clock just goes “Yup. I would kill for you.”

Macaque is a VERY happy monkey, because the little rule looks just like him! White fur, tanned skin, little red mask coming in… the mask is a bit more rounded, but that’s ok. AND! The baby has FOUR ears! Two on each side! Each a different color too!

Wukong and syntax find it adorable, and Wukong in particular is very teary eyed over seeing the Bby. Syntax a little less so, more so freaking out internally over being a parent now. Because god damn it it may have.l been born between macaque and Erlang but they are ALL partners, and both King and Spider are determined to help out.

I heard that if a pregnant person laughs too hard, they can go into labor....

As fun as Jing laughing so hard he throws himself into labor would be, I have a better idea.

ERLANG.

Erlang and Jing are roughly 3-4 months apart, so Erlang has already seen the HELL that Jing is put through. He’s kinda nervous, especially since he and Macawue decided to keep the babies gender a suprise until the birth, but it’s fine! It’s only one baby, so it won’t be as bad!

But back to labor! How does one laugh so hard? Well, let’s just say that Erlang had been having a shitty day. His back hurt to hell and back, the store was out of his favorite caramel ice cream, and he and Syntax had been tistling over the fact that Erlang wanted to move around more now that he was in 9 months, but syntax wanted him to rest.

Then Wukong tries to breakup the fight, and ends up tripping and falling into the lake by accident. Erlang has no idea why, but the shriek the monkey let out just tickled Erlang the right way, and he started laughing his ass off!

And then his water broke.

Cue much screaming and panicking, and Erlang being taken to the celestial er for delivery! Thankfully labor wasn’t very long, only about 7 hours (unlike a certain progoda king), after which he gave birth to a beautiful baby boy!

They name him Nónglì (农历 — Nónglì meaning Lunar, which is also his nickname) .
