Something that makes me really aware of my age is how the Astarion girlies (gender-neutral) usually cite characters from Trwilight or Buffy the Vampire Slayer as the ones that ignited their love for vampires, and mine was Louis from Interview with the Vampire.
Maybe even Rüdiger from the German children's show from the 80s called Der kleine Vampir. But this one is so old I couldn't even find a gif of. Also, I don't really remember how serious I was about him, because I was too young.
Anyway, I'm going to watch Interview With the Vampire now (for the first time in probably more than 10 years) and see if it still captivates me as it did back then. 🙃
I'm a little scared to be disappointed. Old media has a tendency to do so.

Q&A sessions
Interviewer: What do you think is the best thing about working with Rudolph?
Tony: We read lines together a lot, and his breath doesn't smell like garlic.
Rudolph: The vampire jokes haven't stopped since day one. The worst one he's made is 'fang-tastic.'
Tony: Hey! You said you liked that one.
🙋🏼♂️🧛
Interviewer: There have been rumors circulating that there's dating within the cast. Has it interfered with shooting scenes?
Rudolph: *looks at Tony*
Tony: *looks at Rudolph*
Rudolph: We rather not bore you with the details.
Tony: But if we have to give an answer, let's just say... Only in the best way, and leave it at that.
🙋🏼♂️🧛
Interviewer: What's the most challenging thing you've done so far?
Rudolph: Everyday, sitting through make up and having the bloody body paint applied all over me.
Tony: Saying Ruddy's character name as opposed to his real name.
Rudolph: He once said root beer; we had to take five as neither of us are unable to keep from laughing.
🙋🏼♂️🧛
Interview: What is the most important lesson you believe can be taken out from this movie?
Rudolph: Differences don't matter, at the end of the day. Like our characters. They've barely knew each other for a day, but Anton was able to see that Rüdiger was just as frightened as he was when they met. They're different, but also the same. They're both persons.
Tony: Always lock your windows... Or don't. Depending what you're into.
Rudolph: Lovely, Tony. Children may be watching this at home.
Tony: Kidding aside. Personally, I believe there's an underlying message that racism is moot. It's not the person's color that matters; what decides if they're trustworthy or not. It's what they do. Coming from America before living in the U.K., I believe things can be better if there were a little more understanding and acceptance.

Interviewer: I think we have time for just one more question. With the characters you portrayed for the movie, what quality do you think you share with them the most? There's a request from several fans if you would answer this for the other.
Tony: Oh, so like, I do Rudolph and he does me?
Rudolph: *Snorting*
Tony: What? Ohhh...
Rudolph: To answer, yes Tony.
Rudolph: I'll go first then. I think Tony shares Anton's lack of self-preservation. Anton is willing to befriend someone that could most likely kill him if he loses control. At the same time, I can't count with the fingers in my hand the numerous times Tony nearly injures himself on set.
Tony: Rude.
Rudolph: That said, Tony's brave; it's his first time acting, but he's daring enough to pull it off quite well.
Tony: You could've led with that.
Tony: Rudolph, like Rüdiger... Hah! Got it right this time.
Rudolph: Miracles of miracles.
Tony: Anyway, like him, Rudolph seems hardcore and edgy at first. But deep down, he's a big ol' softie who likes hugs.
Rudolph: Hey!
Tony: It makes him comfortable to be around and you feel like you can trust him with anything.
Interview: And that's all the time we have for today! Thank you for your time. Bye!
Literally I just need someone to talk about The Little Vampire, WHATEVER version, every version, all the versions idec. This fandom needs to spawn into existence like yesterday.
Rüdiger (Rudolph) took first aid lessons at some point in his life (or possibly after his death). And from Anna's exasperated reaction after seeing her brother perform CPR on Anton (Tony) it's fair to assume he either talks about it or performs it a lot (although that second part is just reading between the lines so take it with a grain of salt).
Sooo beeing a four-time aunt now I have no excuses to not dive head first back into my childhood obsessions... And WHY THE ABSOLUTE FRICK DID NOBODY TELL ME THAT "DER KLEINE VAMPIR" GOT A FINAL BOOK... LIKE WHYYYYY
I heard more about the 2017 animated movie than the final book of the series from 2015 ...that ...that is just... Angela Sommer-bodenburg was my favorite childhood Authors and the release of that last book in this iconic series just... Pooof went straight over my head... I am ashamed of myself seriously .
Anyways read it , loved it and still have the uncanny wish to see Olga fall head first into a deep pond to never be seen again. (Also I kinda want a modernize 2D animated series that's a bit closer to the books but ehh probably have to do it myself if I ever really want to see that happen)
Anyone else on this hellsite still obsessed with that childrens book series by any chance? Probably not but eh still gonna start posting about it lol
