“The Kremlin's economic blackmail against my country and the EU will not succeed. Today's event is proof of that. Bulgaria and Greece are laying the foundations of not only an energy but also a geopolitical project that will change the energy map of the entire region.” This was stated by Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov at the opening of the construction of the floating liquefied gas terminal near Alexandroupolis.

The liquefied natural gas terminal near Alexandroupolis is a floating storage and regasification facility that will be connected to Greece's gas transmission network via a 28-kilometer pipeline. Through the existing routes, the gas will be able to reach Bulgaria, Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia and others. The planned capacity of the facility amounts to 6.1 billion m2 per year. Among the reserved capacity is Bulgargaz with 500 million cubic meters per year.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, European Council President Charles Michel, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and RN Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski attended the inauguration ceremony.

Petkov addressed his colleague Mitsotakis, saying that he used the opportunity to thank him for the accelerated work on the Greece-Bulgaria gas interconnector.

Neighboring and friendly Greece is supporting Bulgaria at the current critical juncture by using the capacity of the existing Revitusa terminal, Petkov said.

The Greek prime minister said at the beginning of the ceremony that the moment will soon come when Russian gas will be replaced and the difficulties posed by Russia will be overcome. He described the construction of the LNG terminal near Alexandroupolis as an energy gateway to the Balkans and Southeast Europe.

“We will soon be able to replace Russian gas with other sources from other places”, Mitsotakis said.

Ratifikovano učešće DESFA u akcionarskoj šemi Gastrade

Evropska komisija je odobrila sticanje zajedničke kontrole ovog operatera i ostalih akcionara nad Gastrade-om

Atina, decembar 30, 2021 - Učešće grčkog Nacionalnog operatera sistema prirodnog gasa (DESFA SA) u akcionarskoj strukturi Gastrade SA - kompanije koja razvija Plutajuću jedinicu za skladištenje i regasifikaciju (FSRU) tečnog prirodnog gasa (LNG) u Aleksandropolisu - zvanično je ratifikovano sticanjem 20% akcijskog kapitala od strane operatera. Ugovor su potpisali izvršna direktorka DESFA-e, Marija Rita Gali (Maria Rita Galli) i osnivač-akcionar i predsednica odbora Gastrade-a, Elmina Kopeluzu (Copelouzou), na specijalnoj ceremoniji održanoj 21. decembra u prostorijama Gastrade-a u Atini.

Potpisivanje ugovora usledilo je nakon nedavnog odobrenja Evropske komisije - na osnovu EU Uredbe o spajanju - radi sticanja zajedničke kontrole nad Gastrade-om od strane DESFA, Elmine Kopeluzu, DEPA Commerce AE, GasLog Cyprus Investments Ltd. i bugarskog Bulgartransgaz EAD („BTG“).

Prednosti

Izgradnja terminala za tečni prirodni gas (LNG) u Aleksandropolisu aktivno će doprineti energetskoj bezbednosti zemlje, likvidnosti i efikasnosti a ojačaće i stratešku ulogu Grčke u jugoistočnoj Evropi, nudeći mogućnosti za novi izvoz prirodnog gasa u region. Ovo je ključni evropski projekat od zajedničkog interesa (PCI – Projekat zajedničkog interesa – Uredba EU 347/2013), koji predstavlja prioritet Evropskoj uniji, jer jača bezbednost i diverzifikuje izvore i puteve snabdevanja energijom.

Sem toga, projekat promoviše konkurenciju među dobavljačima gasa i podržava stvaranje čvorišta u širem regionu Jugoistočne Evrope, što će dovesti do nižih cena od kojih će koristi imati svi krajnji potrošači.

FSRU će biti povezan sa grčkim Nacionalnim sistemom za prenos prirodnog gasa gasovodom dužine 28 km, kojim će LNG biti upućen na tržišta Grčke, Bugarske i šireg regiona, počev od Rumunije, Srbije i Severne Makedonije, sve do Moldavije i Ukrajine. Očekuje se da će terminal biti u funkciji do 2023. godine.

Osnivački akcionar i predsednica Borda direktora Gastrade, Elmina Kopeluzu, izjavila je: „Danas je napravljen još jedan važan korak za pojavljivanje Grčke, a posebno Aleksandropolisa kao energetskog čvorišta značajnog za Balkan i Evropu. Pozdravljamo ulazak DESFA u Gastrade, uvereni da će sa našom potpunom akcionarskom strukturom, projekat Terminala u Aleksandropolisu igrati vodeću ulogu u zelenoj tranziciji evropskih mreža, uz jačanje sigurnosti snabdevanja energijom, u korist nacionalnih privreda, kao i njihovih građana“.

Izvršna direktorka DESFA, Marija Rita Gali, izjavila je tim povodom: „Potpisivanjem današnjeg ugovora, DESFA je zvanično postala deo Gastrade-a i projekta koji će značajno doprineti energetskoj sigurnosti i unapređenju uloge Grčke u regionalnom razvoju energetike. Dugogodišnje iskustvo DESFA-e u upravljanju LNG terminalom Revitusa (Revithoussa) čini ga vrednim partnerom sa vrhunskim umećem i iskustvom i dokaz je njegove stalne posvećenosti razvoju infrastrukture prirodnog gasa. Nastavićemo da ulažemo u nove tehnologije, u nove načine upotrebe prirodnog gasa, u domaćim i međunarodnim energetskim projektima, krećući se uvek u strateškom pravcu ka energetskoj tranziciji“.
