Op woensdag 13 maart 2024 begon artiest Janisdeman in Wijk bij Duurstede aan een uniek project: een muurschildering van de beroemde fibula. Dit gebeurt aan de Dr. Holwerdastraat 2. Op de muurschildering verschijnt dus de beroemde fibula (mantelspeld). Deze schildert hij op de zijkant van het huis, dat begin jaren ’70 op de vindplek van de fibula is gebouwd. ‘Zo keert de fibula terug naar deze historische plek. Dit laat zien dat de lokale geschiedenis midden in onze wijken ligt,’ reageert Jeroen Brouwer, wethouder cultureel erfgoed. Het team van Janisdeman verrichtte voorbereidingen aan de zijkant van de woning Het team maakte de eerste dagen de muur schoon en bewerkte deze voor. De achtergrond werd voor een deel opgezet. Ook werd een lijntekening met contouren aangebracht. Wethouder Jeroen Brouwer nam vandaag een kijkje en bekeek samen met Janisdeman de al groen gemaakte muur. ‘De eigenaar van het huis wilde graag dat er aandacht kwam voor deze vindplaats. Hij dacht aan een spandoek of bord. Dat leidde tot deze muurschildering. Kunstenaar Janisdeman gaf aan deze te willen maken. Sinds vandaag kun je hem aan het werk zien in de Dr. Holwerdastraat. Als de muurschildering af is, komt er nog als afwerking een UV-werende laag overheen, zodat de fibula nog jaren te zien is.’ De vindplaats van de fibula wordt door de muurschildering bekend De aanleiding voor de muurschildering was een uitzending in 2022 van RTV Utrecht over de fibula. Het bleek dat weinig inwoners van wijk De Heul wisten dat de fibula hier was gevonden. De eigenaar van de woning zette hierop een burgerinitiatief op. Met steun van het Nationale Cultuurfonds, de Wijkse Stichting, het lokale Cultuurfonds en de gemeente Wijk bij Duurstede is de schildering er uiteindelijk gekomen. ‘Zo maken we samen het oude Dorestad weer een beetje zichtbaar. En dat met een muurschildering van een archeologische topstuk. Hoe mooi is dat?’ vraagt de wethouder zich af. Door die code opent een pagina met achtergrondinformatie over de fibula. ‘In de toekomst willen we meer van dit soort plekken in de hele gemeente zo belichten. Zowel in Cothen, Langbroek en Wijk ligt zo veel geschiedenis. Daar mogen we trots op zijn. Met deze moderne middelen kunnen we op een simpele manier laten zien waar we vandaan komen,’ eindigt Brouwer. Korte achtergrondinformatie fibula Wijk bij Duurstede werd door het beroemde Dorestad de grootste archeologische vindplaats van West-Europa. Op 18 juli 1969 zagen twee jongens, deelnemers aan een archeologisch jeugdkamp, iets glinsteren in een uitgegraven waterput. Dat bleek een ongewoon grote, gouden fibula te zijn met edelstenen en email in allemaal kleuren. De edelstenen en materialen kwamen uit verschillende werelddelen. Dergelijke archeologische vondsten behoren tot de Rijkscollectie archeologie van Nederland. Daarom is deze topvondst te bewonderen in het Rijksmuseum voor Oudheden in Leiden. De fibula is zelfs één van de belangrijkste archeologische vondsten van Europa.

Sverre Fredriksen explores new territories in analog animation and has satisfied a wide range of international clients with his commissioned work. In the short Cloacinae, Sverre developed a new animation technique involving ice and puppets with artist Serge Onnen. Cloacinae premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in 2017 and has been exhibited in art galleries in the Netherlands and China. Human Nature (2019) is Sverre's most recent short film. Guy Renardeau is a multi-award-winning composer and producer for film and television based in The Netherlands and in Maryland (US). After obtaining his master's degree in composition, orchestral arrangement, sound design, piano and guitar from the Hochschule für Music in Kõln, Germany, and the Conservatory in Amsterdam, and film research at the University of Chichester, England, he traveled to several countries in Europe, touring with well-known musicians. He recorded for EMI, Sony and film producers. For a couple of years, he has developed a successful and unique approach to his scores and film music productions, songwriting, games and trailers.

Apollo Kids: From 2004 to 2011, he was the composer and musician in the productions: Brrr; About the Sea, Meh, The 4 Seasons, and Dutch Landscape. Guy was hired as the bandleader. Dr. Jac. P. Thijsse's Hofhouding. Nature education in Bloemendaal. With pictures, photos and film. Lucienne worked as a school counsellor at Thijsse's Hof in Bloemendaal from 2007-2010. She provided nature education to schoolchildren in the oldest native garden in Europe. In this collection, she describes Jac's court with great humour. P. Thijsse. Thijsse is the founder of numerous nature organizations in the Netherlands. He was a teacher, writer of nature books, pioneer, naturalist and conservationist, and was of great significance for nature in the Netherlands.

Guy Renardeau (LA) made a documentary about nature and farmers in the Zeevang Polder (2015-2016), with music by Guy Renardeau. The theme of the documentary is 'enlargement of scale'. Movie Nostalghia. Andrey Tarkovsky's masterpiece 'Nostalghia' is a film about 'loss'. Guy Renardeau wrote music for this magical black-and-white film (his last) in 2020 during the 'pandemic'. Tarkovsky grew up in the Russian countryside. Stalin and communism destroyed that countryside with its farmers and its wooden houses. This film tells the story of Tarkovsky and his time and tells something about us and our time ('Great Reset'). 'Nostalgia' means longing for that which is definitively gone.

Nederlandse vrouw opgepakt voor moord in Bonn na DNA-match

RTV Utrecht meldt vandaag dat er een 34-jarige vrouw is opgepakt voor moord in de Duitse stad Bonn na een DNA-match. De Duitse politie laat weten dat de vrouw is opgepakt voor een moord die in november 2017 gepleegd werd en dat ze nog onderzoek doen naar wat er precies gebeurd is. Inmiddels heeft de vrouw wel erkend dat ze ruzie had met het 42-jarige mannelijke slachtoffer. Het lichaam van de man werd op 26 november 2017 gevonden in zijn appartement in Bonn door familieleden van het slachtoffer. Er werden daarna bij het onderzoek door de recherche DNA-sporen gevonden van een vrouw, maar er kwam geen match uit het profiel dat werd vergeleken met dat van vrouwen uit de regio. Het bleek uiteindelijk dus wel met het DNA van een vrouw in de Nederlandse databank overeen te komen. op 8 februari 2023 is de vrouw n haar woning in Utrecht aangehouden en ze zit nu nog vast, maar Duitsland heeft om haar uitlevering gevraagd. Major technical problems resulted in a dispute between NS and the company that produces these trains, AnsaldoBreda. All trains are being kept aside in Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer as long as juridicial procedures are ongoing. After months of not making a single trip NS started last night with small trips meant to keep the trains in good working order. From Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer a trip was made to Maarssen. The picture is made at 01.40am in Maarssen; Fyra train 4811 is being seen while changing directions. The crew is preparing for departure back to Watergraafsmeer only minutes after the image was taken.

HET ULTIEME UTREGSE WOORD IS GEWORDEN...

Het ultieme Utregse woord is 'jochie' geworden. Dat maakte burgemeester van Utreg Jan van Zanen dinsdag bekend in cultureel podium de Kargadoor. Utregters konden kiezen uit 'jochie', 'wijffie', 'dakhaos', 'gladiool' en 'waor'. De verkiezing werd georganiseerd door Rake zaak, een bureau voor merkidentiteit & design.

UTRECHT - In totaal is er 16.288 keer gestemd op de woorden van de shortlist. Op 'jochie' heeft 37% van de mensen gestemd. 'Gladiool' volgt met 22% en 'dakhaos' met 16%. De lijst wordt afgesloten met 14% van de stemmen voor 'waor' en 11% voor ‘wijffie’.

Ontstaan ´jochie´

Hoewel het woord ´jochie´ in heel Nederland wordt gebruikt, is het volgens Onze Taal naar alle waarschijnlijkheid een echt Utregs woord. "Die vorm is waarschijnlijk ontstaan in het Utrechts. Als verkorting van 'jong' ontstond daar 'jonchie', dat weer werd verkort tot 'jochie'", aldus het Genootschap Onze Taal. In Utreg wordt het winnende woord gebruikt om iemand op een vriendschappelijke manier aan te spreken. Het maakt daarbij niet uit hoe oud je bent. Een bekend Utregs gezegde luidt dan ook: 'Al ben je als man jong of oud, groot of klein, in Utrecht zal je altijd een jochie zijn.'

Impact

De verkiezing van Het ultieme Utregse woord heeft impact gehad. Rob Vermeulen, mede-eigenaar van Rake zaak: "we konden merken dat de verkiezing aansloeg. Dat zagen we niet alleen aan het aantal woorden dat ingezonden werd, maar ook aan het aantal maal dat er gestemd is. Ook kregen we tientallen mailtjes van mensen die ons hun verhaal stuurden. 'Mijn moeder zei vroeger altijd…' of 'vroeger zeiden wij thuis…". Dat is leuk om te merken. Als je dan op een gegeven moment op het terras zit in de stad, en je hoort mensen een tafel verderop praten over de verkiezing, weet je dat het goed zit." "Ook het feit dat bedrijven en organisaties graag meewerkten, gaf ons dat gevoel", gaat Vermeulen verder. "Brouwerij De Leckere doneerde 10.000 bierviltjes met daarop de shortlist, Vocking Leverworst sponsorde hapjes en de Utregse jenever van Staffhorst vond gretig aftrek tijdens de uitslagavond."

Om het ultieme Utregse woord te vieren, lanceert Rake zaak in samenwerking met het Utregse kledingmerk Utca's Finest een t-shirtlijn met daarop het woord 'jochie'. "Zo kan elke Utregter zijn trots voor de Domstad ook buiten de gemeentegrenzen uitdragen", aldus Rob Vermeulen. Over de organisatie

De verkiezing van Het ultieme Utregse woord is een initiatief van Rake zaak, een Utrechts bureau voor merkidentiteit & design. Rake zaak is begin 2018 opgericht door Rinske Douna en Rob Vermeulen en bouwt en onderhoudt merken die raken. Rake zaak is er voor branding, concept, design, website en tekst.  Het initiatief wordt ondersteund door een aantal Utrechtse organisaties zoals de gemeente Utrecht en brouwerij De Leckere, maar ook door cultureel podium de Kargadoor, DUIC, het Straatnieuws, Vocking Worst, Utrecht Made, Wijk&co, De Buurtcamping en het Volksbuurtmuseum.

Donderdag 4 mei is de Nationale Militaire Dodenherdenking op het Militair Ereveld op de Grebbeberg in Rhenen. Met de 2 minuten stilte om 20.00 uur herdenkt de Krijgsmacht de militairen die sinds 10 mei 1940 waar ook ter wereld voor het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden zijn gevallen, dan wel zijn omgekomen bij de uitvoering van de militaire dienst. De herdenking vindt plaats in aanwezigheid van Hare Koninklijke Hoogheid Prinses Margriet, Professor mr. Pieter van Vollenhoven en Zijne Hoogheid Prins Pieter-Christiaan. Gastheer bij deze plechtigheid is de Plaatsvervangend Commandant Landstrijdkrachten, generaal-majoor Jean Paul Duckers. De erewachtposten bij het monument worden bemand door militairen in een uniform uit 1939. Overdenking De muzikale ondersteuning tijdens deze herdenking wordt verzorgd door de Fanfare Bereden Wapens.  Als onderdeel van de plechtigheid spreekt Krijgsmachtsaalmoezenier majoor Javelin Zwakhalen een overdenking uit. Ook dit jaar dragen scholieren een gedicht voor. Diverse instanties leggen na de twee minuten stilte een krans. Aansluitend op de kranslegging volgt een defilé langs de ruim 800 graven. De geplande eindtijd is 20.45 uur.

"Our country today has been jolted by an attack in Utrecht," the prime minister said in a statement. "Police and prosecutors are looking into what exactly happened. UTRECHT, Netherlands, March 18 (Reuters) - A gunman shot dead three people and wounded nine on a tram in the Dutch city of Utrecht on Monday and police said they were hunting for a 37-year-old Turkish man in an apparent terrorist attack.

Rutte did not repeat earlier suggestions that the shooting may have had a terrorist motive.

The Algemeen Dagblad newspaper, citing a witness, said the gunman had targeted one woman on the tram and then shot other people who had tried to help her.

Dutch television showed counter-terrorism units surrounding a house in Utrecht, but there was no official confirmation that the gunman might be inside.

"A lot is still unclear at this point and local authorities are working hard to establish all the facts. What we already know is that a culprit is at large," Counter-Terrorism Agency head Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg told a news conference.

Earlier Aalbersberg said the shooting "appears to be a terrorist attack".

Local broadcaster RTV Utrecht quoted a witness as saying he had seen a woman lying on the ground amid some kind of confrontation and several men running away from the scene.

A reporter for Dutch broadcaster NOS said a white sheet had been placed over a body near the tram where the shooting had taken place.

Utrecht, the Netherlands' fourth largest city with a population of around 340,000, is known for its picturesque canals and large student population. 22 verpleeghuizen krijgen treincoupé voor mensen met dementie

RTV Utrecht heeft gemeld dat Alzheimer Nederland en de NS treinbanken, bagagerekken, tafels en kantelprullenbakken schenken aan 22 verpleeghuizen in Nederland om een eigen treincoupé te bouwen. Op die manier kunnen mensen met dementie herinneringen ophalen en “met de trein reizen”. Niet veilig Veel mensen met dementie kunnen niet meer veilig reizen met de trein en de NS zelf ziet ook af en toe reizigers met dementie die bijvoorbeeld niet meer weten hoe ze in moeten checken of waar hun medepassagier is. Oude dubbeldekkers De NS en Alzheimer Nederland hebben een jaar geleden ook al de zogenoemde Hoofdreiscoupé geïntroduceerd, die in 2021 en 2022 langs verpleeghuizen reisde. Onderzoek naar 31 sterfgevallen na vaccinatie in zorginstelling Noord-Holland: ‘Onderste steen komt boven’

Op 30 januari kregen de bewoners van het St Elisabeth Verpleeg- en Gasthuis in Amersfoort hun eerste coronaprik. Twee weken later brak er corona uit. In een week tijd overleden 22 bewoners. “Met de start van vaccinaties hadden we verwacht dat de besmettingen zouden afnemen, maar dat is niet gebeurd en daar zijn we erg ontdaan over,” zei bestuurslid Evelien Bongers tegen RTV Utrecht.

Zo zijn er nog talloze voorbeelden van verpleeg- en verzorgingstehuizen waar bewoners kort na vaccinatie zijn overleden. Kamerlid Wybren van Haga (FVD) stelde er vragen over aan zorgminister Hugo de Jonge en werd vervolgens geschoffeerd.

“Er zijn een hoop verontrustende berichten,” zei Van Haga, die onder andere het St Elisabeth Verpleeg- en Gasthuis noemde. “Dat er mensen overlijden is één ding, maar dit lijkt te toevallig. Ik was benieuwd naar de verklaring.” De Jonge beschuldigde het Kamerlid van ‘het zaaien van paniek’ en ‘het verspreiden van nepnieuws’.

31 bewoners overleden

De Buitenparlementaire Onderzoekscommissie 2020 heeft naar aanleiding van deze verontrustende berichten besloten om onderzoek te doen naar overlijdensgevallen na vaccinatie. De commissie onderzoekt momenteel het overlijden na vaccinatie van 31 bewoners in een zorginstelling in Noord-Holland. Aan de familie is toestemming gevraagd obductie te mogen doen, laat de commissie weten via social media.

Het lijkt te gaan om zorgcentrum Huis ter Wijck in Beverwijk. Daar zijn onlangs 31 bewoners overleden net nadat ze voor de eerste keer waren gevaccineerd.

Niet de enige zorginstelling

Veel mensen zijn blij dat de onderzoekscommissie een onderzoek is gestart. “Lijkt me goed dat dit uitgezocht wordt, want het is niet de enige zorginstelling waar dit is gebeurd,” reageert psychiatrisch verpleegkundige Aaldrik Oosterveld op LinkedIn. “De onderste steen komt boven,” twittert programmamaker Flavio Pasquino.

Margaretha schrijft: “Het tehuis waar mijn vader heeft gewoond en mijn moeder ooit heeft gewerkt. Top dat jullie dit onderzoeken. Bizar gewoon. En meteen wordt er gezegd: ‘Nee, het komt niet door het vaccin’. Zijn ze daar helderziend of zo?”

Automobiliste zet navigatie op 'lopen' en belandt in fietsenstalling Utrecht CS

Er is gisteravond een automobiliste met haar auto in de fietsenstalling onder Utrecht Centraal Station beland. Een woordvoerder van de NS heeft aan RTV Utrecht laten weten dat dit kwam omdat ze haar navigatie per ongeluk op ‘lopen’ had ingesteld. Eerst reed de vrouw een fietsstraat in en uiteindelijk reed ze dus door tot in de fietsenstalling. Omdat de bocht daar te krap is voor auto’s, kon ze niet verder. Politie Medewerkers van de stalling probeerden nog wel in te grijpen, maar dat lukt niet op tijd. "Zij gingen er wel achteraan, maar als een auto 15 kilometer per uur rijdt, duurt het wel even voordat je die hebt bijgehaald." Uiteindelijk moest de politie eraan te pas komen om de automobiliste weer uit de stalling te krijgen. Meerdere verkeersborden De woordvoerder laat verder nog weten dat, ook al staan er meerdere verkeersborden dat auto’s er niet mogen inrijden rond de fietsparkeerplaats, hij wel begrijpt hoe het fout kon gaan. "Als je niet oplet, en dat is hier het geval, dan rijd je als het ware zo die stalling in." Het is dan ook niet voor het eerst dat dit gebeurd.
