I just thought about the queen of Naboo and the handmaidens, specifically the decoy.

What if the decoy is pretending to be the queen and an attack happens. In the situation, the decoy is playing the queen survives but the queen pretending to be a handmaiden dies, what is the procedure?

I would assume the standard thing would be to have a new election, but like what if they didn’t say anything. Because the handmaidens know essentially everything the queen does, they are highly trained and the decoy is very practised at pretending to be the queen.

So like... what if they just kept going?

Rabé ~ Amidala's wardrobe mistress and handmaiden with criminal background

Rabé, born as Rabene Tonsort, served as one of Queen Amidala's handmaidens during the last years of the Galactic Republic. During the Invasion of Naboo, she accompanied the Queen to Tatooine and then Coruscant, along with her colleagues Sabé and Eirtaé.

After Amidala's term as queen ended, Rabé went on to study music at a prestigious academy in Theed. We can see the academy in the window on the right and her interest in music was symbolized in a the shape of hallikset on the left.

Rabé, as a handmaiden, developed considerable patience and was responsible for working on the Queen's elaborate hairstyles, which could take many hours to complete. During such lengthy sessions, Rabé provided the Queen with counsel.

She was well know as Amidala's wardrobe mistress, as such we can see Amidala's costumes on the right part of the painting, but there are also other unique elements. As all handmaidens in the group, she had a military training, which is presented by Naboo royal pistol, but we can also see a grappling hook, with which she was also skilled, and a lock picking device on the ground.

Rabé attended a prestigious school and studied a variety of arts, including sculpture, acting, impression, However, despite being a talented artist, she eventually began a forgery ring at her school, selling to unwary offworlders. Also those skills were useful during her work as handmaiden.

On the chair, we can also see a red robe of Lorrdian member of the Brotherhood of the Beatific Countenance. This was added, as Rabé, when present for a conversation but out of earshot, was able to understood what transpired through lip-reading and Lorrdian-trained methods of reading body language.

You know what'd be great? A story about Padme's former handmaidens keeping her spirit alive during the Empire's reign. Padme really got the short end of the stick and she deserves to be fucking remembered. Plus the handmaidens were badass.
