I’m back on Halloween brainrot and thinking about the “Thorn” movies and then the H20 movies, and going into that thin sliver of hope that somehow Rachel AND Tina had actually survived. If Rachel went into shock when Michael stabbed her and Tina managed to hold on despite her wounds.
I think about if they had lived knowing Jamie was kidnapped, if they tried to find her or if they spent years blaming themselves for failing her.
Then they find out she died.
Then they find out her birth mother was alive this whole time living under an assumed name with a different kid because she was scared of Michael finding her.
So what would it look like if these two women went to meet Jamie’s mother after she was institutionalized. These women who thought they had failed this little girl, who had been left behind.
I can only imagine how broken Laurie would’ve been at that point but I wonder about the rage that Rachel or Tina must feel on Jamie’s behalf. Would they pity Laurie or would they be mad at her as a way to feel less guilty about the suffering Jamie endured.

Smith's Grove is the prequel to the faithful night Michael came home. It's a psychological thriller and character study of Michael Myers and Dr Sam Loomis at first trying to reach him and helping the young boy, then suddenly patients are dying. "Accidents" start to happen in Smith's Grove and Loomis realizes that Michael is simply evil beyond help and dedicates his life to keeping Michael locked up.
Farrand's Lord Of The Dead rejected sequel for those curious

Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers (1988) Modernized Trailer
When I was 17 years old, I went to see Halloween 4 at a movie theater packed with rowdy high school kids like myself. When the credits rolled, you could hear a pin drop in the room, and we all walked out quietly after being traumatized. It’s not the best slasher, but it stands the test of time as a solid film.
What amazes me now about this movie is how it is very similar to the Kenobi series (or at least has a lot of parallels) Halloween 4/Kenobi both have:
1) An old man who was once respected in his field (Kenobi/Dr. Loomis) now betrayed and abandoned by society and the very institutions they had defended
2) Both old men fought a dark, menacing figure that ended in fire (Anakin on Mustafar/Michael Myers in a Hosptal room full of gas)
3) Each man went into hiding for ten years, only to return when the evil returned to stalk a young girl (Leia Skywalker/Jamie lloyd), an orphan adopted by loving families (Organas/Carruthers). Both girls are daughters of a significant Mother (Padme Amidala/Laurie Strode)
4) A strong female character helps the old man and the girl (Tala/Rachel Carruthers) and defeat the evil after a harrowing experience. Evil menace is left buried in rubble after a final confrontation.
Probably the biggest differences is that Leia had plot armor and Jamie was an entirely new character with an uncertain future, and she is thoroughly traumatized at the end of the movie. Dr. Loomis gives a horrible scream at the end that chilled us all during the silent credits.
It’s worth checking out if you are into Halloween thrills for October. Danielle Harriss plays Jamie and ya just want to give that girl a hug. Ellie Cornell is excellent as Rachel Carruthers (While not as skilled a fighter as Tala, Rachel is a respected character almost up there with Lauriie Strode and Ellen Ripley), and Donald Pleasance is brilliantly off the rails as Dr. loomis
