📚🤐🤺 for anyone in an order!
📚🤐🤺 Are they part of one of the orders of Tyria? Which one? Why did they choose that order? Crusader Sootwalker: Crusader Sootwalker is, as the name implies, a crusader within the Vigil. She’s been a member for quite a while now, although she didn’t exactly join for the most upstanding of reasons. While she’s a skilled fighter, and she can be a terror on the battlefield, a big part of the reason that she joined was that it seemed an easier life than the Legions. Not always on duty, plenty of good food, lower standards... Plus, the respect that comes with it was pretty nice, too. Underneath it all, however, she does earnestly believe in the motto, and she’s not one to shy away from a fight, especially against dragon minions, when it means protecting the innocents of Tyria.
Fyra Shalespine: Fyra is, or was until recently, also a member of the Vigil! It wasn’t even her choice - she was sent to the Vigil ostensibly as a new recruit, though she’d be Ash’s eyes and ears in the field, feeding them information the whole time about the Vigil’s inner workings. After a while, however, she found herself impressed (and wooed) by the Vigil’s morality and their devotion to fighting for the weak, and she formally left Ash to join the Vigil full-time. Although not a standard Vigil operative, she does retain many of her contacts and resources even with her priorities now to Shale Warband.
Graf Towercleave: Graf was, for the recent decade or so, a member of the Vigil! He joined almost immediately after the human-charr ceasefire, searching for new purpose and inspired by Almorra and her story. Plus, fighting in Eastern Ascalon for so long, he certainly picked up a bit of anti-Branded sentiment, and the Vigil seemed like a good route to deal with that (aside from the one-way ticket of the Sentinels). He stuck with the Vigil for a long time, making contacts, acquiring a wealth of skills, and developing a mutual understanding of the humans he’d been fighting against not so long ago. Once Kralkatorrik was defeated, he began reconsidering his path - he’d been away from home for a long time, and now that Kralkatorrik, and the Branded, were finished, he began to feel the pull of the Legions once more, a sense of duty to his people calling him home. So, after Kralkatorrik’s defeat, he left the Vigil and went back to rejoin Blood Legion. He still regrets the timing - perhaps if he’d been there in Bjora, things would have gone differently...
Keele Rustsocket: Keele is actually a member of the Pact - she never traditionally joined one of the Orders proper. When the Pact was formed to combat the elder dragon Zhaitan, Keele was among those that volunteered after the World Summit. She was both motivated by the dire circumstances, and also extremely eager for the opportunity to work with the finest engineers of all the races, and to create works never before seen upon Tyria. Even after Zhaitan’s defeat, she stayed with the Pact, becoming a skilled and valued airship mechanic, sailing into the depths of the jungle, and later into the wreckage of Bloodstone Fen. Nowadays, she works with the Pact’s fleet in the Aerodrome, always tinkering and upgrading them to keep them ready for whatever threat faces the world next.
Ruya Starchaser: Ruya was practically destined for a life in the Priory, and as soon as the option was afforded to her, she joined up. Without a warband behind her (which suited her just fine!), the Legions didn’t have much to offer the paperbound scholar, but the Priory was a perfect match. She joined right up and has never looked back, and she feels more at home than ever. She’s been with the Priory since as an integral part of their astronomical division, and she’s now one of the lead figures in the research group in Istan.
Honorable Mention: Rakk Smokewraith Rakk isn’t technically part of the Order of Whispers, but he might as well be. He’s got a great number of contacts within the Order, and information flows back and forth quite readily. He even does the occasional job for the Order, making him a field agent in all but name. It’s unclear why he’s never officially joined, and whether that reluctance is on his part - or the Order’s.
(( Huh. I have a lot of Vigil characters, and.... hardly any of the other two. Not what I expected. ))

More special-snowflake Charr development thoughts under the cut.
Kyrdra's pretty much the same as she's been, backstory-wise, at least for now. I may change it later, but I don't think it will come up often enough to be worth worrying about. With regards to her personality, she's gotten a little bit more development there. Despite coming from Blood Legion, she's shaping up to be quite the team player. She's overly generous and self-sacrificing when it comes to her warband (or nowadays, other gladium), often starving or exposing herself in order to feed and shelter the "less-fortunate." She's quite bitter and defensive about her warband, and refuses to talk about them unless absolutely and unavoidably pressed, in which case she speaks as sparingly as possible. Her shame in being a gladium is mostly tied to the crimes of her warband - she feels shame in that she was too foolish to see what they were doing, or the crimes that they were committing, and didn't do anything against it. She strives to hunt down her warband and destroy every single one of them for what they've done, for what they made her do, but this has, in recent times, kind of been buried. It still is a burning desire within her, but she's not really focused on it anymore. She's busy enough dealing with daily life, and it's such an (effectively) lofty goal for her that she's putting it off. She's not the type of gladium to go on a suicide mission, but as she nears the end of her life, she'd go for it anyways (if any of them still live.) For the most part, she's just doing what work she can to scrape by - anything of value she had was lost during her "trial", so she's quite literally starting from the bottom. Most of the food and income she generates goes to the other gladium, so she ends up living rather meagerly, but she doesn't complain. It's hard enough for her to get any sort of work, even as a scrapper (nobody wants her around), so most of the time, she's relegated to scrapping or hauling. Still learning a lot about Charr culture and society, not sure how I'm going to tweak her in days/weeks to come.
As for Rakk... He's kind of done a 180 in some ways. He's still a defensive, bitter little lump, but his station in life has vastly improved. Rather than being a kind of beaten-up tattered little miser, he's kind of become a greedy hoarder. He's not used to having good things, so he's blowing all his money while he can in a hedonistic, greedy explosion of material wealth. Nice clothes, lots of food, lots of drink, very little gets "saved". Still working out the fine details, but I can see him as being a greedy little monster, trying to take (and hold on to) everything that he can, because he's so used to fighting for the smallest scraps.

🐱 - 🏡 - 🛡️ for Rakk Smokewraith and Ink Voidbreath
(( Ink’s answers may contain Lunar plotline spoilers. ))
🐱 Were they modeled after a specific feline? Maybe a combination of some? If not, what was your inspiration?
Rakk Smokewraith: Rakk wasn’t modeled after any sort of specific feline, and I usually don’t make my charr after specific cats. That said - Rakk was one of the first characters I made, in my first weekend playing the game. At the time, I knew nothing about GW2 lore and very little about Charr, and Rakk is actually one of the few from that era that isn’t based off a pre-existing character, so... Honestly, his character looks was basically “I want something very edgy and Ashy”, hence the name and the fact that he’s dark primarily. The lighter stripes were just because I liked the inverse tiger pattern, I guess!
Ink Voidbreath: OKAY SO! Ink was originally a villain concept for Lunar’s Drizzlewood plotline but I loved them too much to let them die, and I ended up reforming/making them as a character. It actually started when I heard the song “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd (( Yes, I’m basic. )), and the phrase “drowning in the night” really stuck with me, even out of context. I began to think of that literally, and as I’d been replaying a lot of GW1 lately (where my main is an Assassin), I had some of the Assassin’s shadowy magic abilities on the mind (especially with EoD coming up!), and I thought about mixing the two: a character who specialized in ancient magicks, manipulating shadows and darkness. Literally drowning in the “night”. As far as their physical looks, I... admittedly went very shamelessly aesthetic with this. Breath (the villain warband) was named for both breath weapons and... also the fact that I shamelessly indulged my aesthetic and had them have visible elemental breath (eg, Firebreath’s exhalations would have little bits of fire, Frostbreath’s have icy mist, and Ink’s... have this thick black “smoke” (basically elemental darkness. Shut up, it’s aesthetic.)). Other than that, I got hit with another inspiration brick and decided that I wanted them to be sort of Okami-themed (the “ink” part of the aesthetic), and be a white base Charr with a black pattern that shifts and swirls, actually being composed of their magic.
TL;DR Ink’s inspiration was “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd, GW1′s Assassin, and Amaterasu from Okami.
🏡 Where do they live?
Rakk Smokewraith: Although Rakk’s cover identity lives in the Citadel, he doesn’t really spend a lot of time there. He’s often out and about wherever undercover renegades/traitors/Flame are hiding, meaning he spends a lot of time in Ebonhawke, Divinity’s Reach, Lion’s Arch, and smaller encampments everywhere. Lately, he’s been in Grothmar a lot. If he had to choose a place to make his residence, he’d probably say Divinity’s Reach. Although he’s not much for humans, he does like a few things about them - they tend to smell nice, they’re smaller than him, and they prioritize comfort. DR is a city where he can get good food, a plush bed, plentiful drink, lots of grooming supplies, and still be big enough to push people around.
Ink Voidbreath: For a long while, Ink hasn’t really had a home, traveling to where their sense of duty takes them. Often, that tended to be field camps, in various renegade caves and strongholds, and most recently, in various Dominion encampments. Now that they’re “free”, they’re trying to stay unnoticed, especially with all the anti-Charr sentiment lately, and finding themselves staying in slums, thieves’ holds, and other unsavory places... However, if Ink could choose a place where they’d like to live... they’d probably say a quiet cabin in some idyllic mountain valley somewhere. Something supremely peaceful, with lots of quiet, and calm, and a minimum of neighbors. Maybe some fields of wildflowers. If forced to pick on a map, probably somewhere in the Woodland Cascades, well-isolated from the events of the world.
🛡️ Weapons?
Rakk Smokewraith: Being primarily Ash, Rakk’s weapons of choice are his daggers. However, they’re mostly for show. He’s a runt, and he knows it, and so when it actually comes to combat, he prefers to let his necromancy do the fighting. Between undead minions and dark magic, he’s got enough tricks up his sleeve to handle just about anything he needs to. Although he carries a pistol to keep up appearances, and knows how to use it, he’s a terrible shot, and so it’s mostly just for show. He doesn’t have any sort of sentimental attachment to his weapons, and isn’t really the sentimental kind of Charr to begin with. What matters most to him is usually how good/fancy it looks, with a little bit of focus on how well-made it is. Usually, the more expensive, the better ;)
Ink Voidbreath: Ink, fitting with their training and their chosen expertise, also prefers dual daggers! Although they have a lot of potent magic at their disposal, a lot of it isn’t solely offensive, so they have to rely on their weapons a lot. They tend to be pretty confident with any sort of bladed weapon, though light-weight is better. They’ve tried to forge weapons from shadow magic, or simply enhance their weapons with their magic, but to no success yet - nothing competes with good steel, and they’ve made sure that their daggers are the best quality. As far as special attachment to any sort of weapon, Ink does have a special knife! Upon graduating from the Fahrar, Ink’s initial warband all received custom trench knives - the finest material, and engraved artistically - both a weapon and a work of art. Now, given that it’s all they have to remember their initial warband with, it’s too precious to fight with, especially given how revealing/identifying the engraving would be.

🌻 Rakk, 🌹 Bathea, 🌿 Morak
🌻 What little things do they notice about people or the world around them that make them happy? What tiny little treasures do they find in the normal every day that makes the world seem a little brighter for them?
Rakk is a bastard boy and so a lot of his happiness/pleasure comes from the hedonistic things in life. As far as little things that he notices that bring him delight, a lot of it tends to be related to his own vanity: noticing someone admiring him, or checking him out. He also likes checking other out other people, or savoring pleasant perfumes/scents.
As far as “making the world seem brighter”, there’s not much that does that. He tends to be pretty fatalistic, so while a cute charr giving him a suggestive wink certainly brightens up his evening, there’s not a lot of “little treasures” that are going to make the world a better place for him.
🌹 Where in the world does your OC feel most at home? Is there any reason why? If it’s not the place they were born, where were they born? Is there a certain somebody that makes them feel at home where ever they may be? What does home mean to them?
Oooof, this is definitely something that Bathea’s struggled with, actually! She definitely doesn’t feel at home in Ascalon (where she was born, to answer part 2), partially because of the “faking her death, changing her name and fleeing to Kryta” thing. Given her choice, she’d never go back, actually - as much as she misses the landscape, there’s just too many bad memories (and/or death warrants) to want to return.
But Kryta doesn’t really feel like home either. As much as she enjoys her position in the Lionguard, and likes what she does, it’s not ‘home’ yet, and she’s always reminded that she’s an outsider here. She’s uncomfortable around other Charr, yet being around anyone else reminds her of how different she is, that she doesn’t ‘belong’ there.
As far as “most at home”, it would probably actually be at the hospital in Lion’s Arch. While she doesn’t quite fit in, that’s where she feels most comfortable - she can lose herself in the work, and find equality with those around her on the level of them all being medics.
She may not have a special someone waiting for her, but to her home would simply be someplace that she can feel comfortable as who she is. She doesn’t have to hide anything or pretend to be something she’s not. Somewhere that she can feel safe, and comfortable, and accepted for being her.
🌿 What way does your OC show that they care without using words? What way do others show your OC that they’re cared about without using speech?
Morak doesn’t have a lot of people that he necessarily cares about anymore. When his family was alive, a lot of the caring and affection between them was in the form of doing small favors, taking care of each other to make their day a little easier. Baiting someone’s hooks so they’re ready to go, spooling ropes for them, having a hot drink ready so they don’t have to muck with the kettle when they want to get warm now.
Now, almost all of his affection goes towards his pet drake, Pukebreath, and a lot of that takes the form of making sure he’s comfortable, making good food for him, keeping him healthy, and things like that.
As far as others expressing caring towards him, there’s not a lot of that either, given that he’s an edgy teen, but he most notices it when people do little things for him, like his family used to do for him. If someone goes out of their way to help him with his duties, he definitely notices that, though his edgy heart is torn between “they care about me” and “they want something from me...” :p

Rakk - 9, 10, 14, 20, 26, 32, 42
9. Do you have a faceclaim / voiceclaim for your OC?-Oh, jeez. I don’t really do either of those, and… I don’t quite know how a faceclaim would work for Charr, unless I compare them to a big cat…? I guess he’d be most similar to most sorts of big cat cubs, like a lion or tiger cub. Voiceclaim, uhh. he’s on the higher side as far as Charr go, smooth and velvety. I guess (drawing on my extremely limited repertoire of voices), something like Bob Ross, except instead of calming and relaxing, it’s… Charr.
10. What deadly sin would best represent your OC?-Greed. He wants only the best, but wants it all.
14. What foods does your OC like to eat? What are their least favorite foods?-He prides himself on having a much more refined and expensive palate than most Charr - although he’s a liquor fiend, as far as food goes, he tends towards the rare and exotic. Rare fish, Orrian vegetables, anything that might be classified a luxury. He doesn’t like things that are messy to eat, no matter how tasty they might be, so something like a vegetarian sloppy Joe would be bottom of his list. :p
20. If they came from their world to ours (if not already in our’s) how would they react? What would they do?-He’d probably be a bit alarmed at first (after all, this is a bit more advanced than the Reach! Since when do humans have cars? What are those Asuran devices they’re all talking and typing into?), and assuming that he wasn’t immediately ripped apart by the government for being a giant cat-man, he’d probably find the nearest bar. Eventually he’d be disappointed that there seems to be ONLY humans, no other Charr, and attempt to seduce a human (or several).
26. Who is the most important person in their life? Why? Who is the least important to them (that still has an impact and why?-He is! He’s incredibly egotistical and narcissistic and can’t think of a more important person. He doesn’t have many lasting presences in his life - as far as he’s concerned, it‘s just himself and his Legionnaire, for all intents and purposes, so I guess the least important would be his Legionnaire. :p  The rest of his ‘band all have their own undercover missions, and even in the Fahrar, he was the runt.
32. If they could have one thing in the world, what would it be?-Just one? Hmm… Probably something huge and valuable that he could sell/trade/barter for lots of perfumes and booze and nice clothes and things of that sort. Like the Claw of the Khan-Ur, or an enormous diamond, or Jennah’s crown or something.…does a magical bottomless bag of gold count? :p
42. Does your character have any scars? Where did they get them from?-He takes a lot of care to avoid scars! That being said,, he does have one - a long, thin scar along his abdomen, from a training battle in the Fahrar. He tries his best to minimize it, with special ointments and by ensuring his fur covered it, but he will always know that it’s there.(A very unfortunate accident seems to have befallen said Fahrar-mate, shortly after graduation…)

"Have to be clean: no fleas, no blood in the fur, no stinking." That don't sound like any Blooder I know, dude.
“Basic hygiene is a bit much to ask of some of those morons, true. But occasionally you’ll find one, especially in Divinity’s Reach. However, just because I prefer bigger men doesn’t mean I’m not… flexible. Being able to pin my partner has its advantages too…” he purrs, one of those emerald eyes flashing a sultry wink.

Rakk, what do you find most physically attractive in males?
“I like when they know their place, and don’t try to fight me, or pretend they don’t enjoy it. Even more satisfying when it’s a big hulking Blood clot. So… guess I like bigger men. Have to be clean: no fleas, no blood in the fur, no stinking. Big horns I can grab onto.”
“…why, you interested?”

Rakk - When's the last time ya served in Fireheart Rise? Ash's been active up there for at least a decade now.
“Me? Oh, I’ve never been up there! I’m still pretty young, barely out of the Fahrar! Once I get bigger though, I’m sure Powder will get sent up there and we’ll kill all those Flamers! It’ll be so cool!”
(Rakk is older than he’ll admit, but still has not been deployed to Fireheart - most Flame up there tend to be rather obvious, and his skills tend to be more useful elsewhere, especially given his relative lack of combat expertise)

Rakk - What're yer favorite bars?
“Any place that’s clean and has both strong liquor and easy minxes. Three Legions has good pickings for company, but it’s a bit rowdy. Human bars are usually good choices, and plentiful, though the ones in Lion’s Arch tend to be a bit… smellier.” he snorts disdainfully, before counting on his claws. “Flagon, Whisper, Coin, Flower, even the Drum.”

Rakk - Where're ya assigned right now, dude?
“Oooh! A question about me! How cool! Powder and I are in the Citadel right now! We work on tanks and war wagons and other cool things! They’re awesome! When I get bigger, maybe we’ll get to go out in the field! We’ll fight big bad guys! It’ll be so cool!!”
Rakk is, in truth, deployed to root out Flame infiltrators and spies, and thus has a rather lax assignment - he spends a lot of time in the Citadel, investigating there while keeping up his cover, but he also spends just as much time in Lion’s Arch (and occasionally even Divinity’s Reach), searching for Flame hiding in the commotion of the big city (and taking advantage of the large amounts of bars and night-time company available to him).

Heheh. Ashk Box. Rakk - 2, 14, 15 | Kyrdra - 7, 11, 18 | Domitus - 3, 6, 10 | Alcmene - 4, 16, 20
Rakk Smokewraith:
2. Do they have any annoying quirks? If so, what are they?
Alright, so, basically Rakk’s entire cover personality is annoying. He’s bouncy, obnoxious, asks way too many questions, is very easily excitable, and tends to ignore boundaries as well as societal conventions. His true personality on the other hand has much fewer, though there’s certainly a few. One of the first ones that comes to my mind is his penchant for cleanliness - he’s mildly germaphobic, and can tend to be a bit rude about the perceived filthiness of others. He’s a bit domineering at times (especially in bed), which can frustrate others. As far as unique quirks that others might find annoying, perhaps his tendency for his cover personality to fidget a lot, playing with his fur. He’ll run his claws through it, twirl fingers through it, brush it, etc. He just likes how silky soft he feels.
14. Is there anything they are too optimistic about?
His cover personality is pretty optimistic about a lot of things, but to an excessive amount, I’d have to say his assumption that people are going to like him and be his friend. He’s very bouncy and likes to assume that everyone he meets is going to talk to him and want to be his friend and share all their juicy secrets right off the bat.As for his true personality… Honestly, he’s a bit too optimistic about his chances for getting laid. He’s pretty damn egocentric and so usually figures that everyone would fall over themselves to get him in bed, when that’s… almost never the case. I think he’s also a bit too optimistic about how far he can push his body (considering some of the things he does to it), but it’s held out so far.
15. How might they be ignorant or prejudiced?
Well, given his standard Charr upbringing, he’s been taught that humans are bad juju. He really doesn’t like them, although he supports the ceasefire, if only because he’d rather let humans fight dragon minions than good Charr soldiers. After the dragons are taken care of, he’d likely be more than happy to see a revival of the war. He’s also prone to a lot of the standard Charr attitude towards Sylvari - creepy unnatural abominations that probably shouldn’t exist. In the wake of the Pact Fleet Incident, he’s definitely caught up in the outcry of ‘monsters’, and would probably not hesitate about torching some plant-people. He’s also got a bit of inherent Ash elitism (or “rivalry”, if you will), and doesn’t necessarily respect the other Legions as much as he probably should.
Kyrdra Sparkdawn
7. What is the biggest mistake they’ve ever made?
Ohohohoh, well. The biggest mistake she’s ever made, and she would agree, would be trusting her old Legionnaire (back when she was in Flare Warband), or at least trusting him as blindly as she did. That whole mess led to a lot of bad stuff for her (official inquiries, torture, slander, etc.), and effectively ruined her life. She’s recovering, but that was easily the biggest mistake she’s made. Her trust isn’t recovering so well, however.
11. What are their intellectual shortcomings?
She used to be Blood Legion - isn’t that enough for you?Kyrdra is admittedly not very bright. If you give her a task and put her to it, she’ll do just fine, but she struggles with thinking outside of the box or finding innovative ways to do things. She would have difficulty understanding a lot of abstract theories, but she honestly doesn’t really care about much of that, so it doesn’t come up that often. Other intellectual shortcomings are basically just her personality, which limits her more than most other things - how stubborn and arrogant she tends to be.Aside from the aforementioned, she also has difficulty understanding complex vocabulary. Don’t use big words.
18. Are they ever a pushover about something? If so, how?
She used to be. She used to (back in the Flare days) be fairly malleable and easy to control; your perfect Blood Legion grunt.
Nowadays, not so much. She’s learned stubbornness and made it part of herself, and isn’t easily manipulated. I wouldn’t say that she’s a pushover about anything anymore - even if you have her cornered and she has no choice, she’ll still be full of spit and vinegar the whole while. You can’t really get her to do something she doesn’t want to do without a lot of force, and even then, it will be under duress.
Domitus Shardspirit:3. Name one or more of their bad habits.
Hmm. I don’t know that Dom has much in the way of bad habits (he’s more towards the cinnamon roll side of the spectrum), but if I had to pick a few… He’s a bit too flirtatious for his own good, and can be prone to pushing too much for sex. He tends to avoid wanton killing, which I’m pretty sure qualifies as a bad habit for a Charr. He doesn’t wear shoes. Oh, he doesn’t tell people about his injuries unless they’re like seriously life–threatening emergency situations; that’s a bad habit. He zones out a lot and doesn’t really pay good attention. Also he talks with a horrific accent. Does that count?
6. Their romantic relationships?
Eheheheh. So, he’s never actually had a romantic relationship, so I couldn’t say for certain what sort of flaws would crop up in that - however, he’s (very recently become) pretty sexually active, not putting a lot of emotional stock into it. I could imagine that when it came to a relationship, he’d have a lot of difficulty being physically faithful (and perhaps emotionally faithful as well). He’s also pretty inexperienced, if that counts as a flaw? He’s also got a kind of strange sense of priorities and would probably not provide his partner/mate/significant other with enough attention, unless they’re aloof.
10. Some of their emotional shortcomings?
Dom is young and naive, which while not emotional shortcomings in their own right, tend to lead to a lot of his faults. He’s not very good at perceiving the feelings of others and so he can tend to seem somewhat callous and cold at times. He also doesn’t put a lot of stock into sentiment, which contributes to him acting cold. He’s very often detached from the feelings of others, struggling to empathize with them, which can make his interactions seem clumsy or immature. There’s a few more, but those are the big issues that tend to crop up with him.
Alcmene Chillhorn:4. Any addictions? (Food, sex, drugs/alcohol, shopping, power/control, etc.)
I wouldn’t say that she has any addictions per se. She’s fairly weak for a good meal or for affection with her partner, but they’re not necessarily addicting in that she can resist them and live without them. I don’t know if it counts as an addiction, but I suppose the closest thing to one would simply be the need to be needed. She needs to feel needed, and would probably seek that out elsewhere if her current environment wasn’t providing it, though it’s not likely that would ever happen. She’s fairly well-controlled, honestly, though Meatoberfest comes perilously close…
16. Do they have any behaviors and/or beliefs that cannot be adequately justified?
Most of hers are fairly well-justified. The first one that comes to mind that people would question is her undying loyalty and love for her Legionnaire, Vyneera Chillcleave. Vyneera tends to be a bit abrasive, aggressive, destructive, etc. and yet Alcmene consistently trusts her and obeys her almost without question. Although she feels it’s justified, most wouldn’t agree. The other behavior that comes to mind is her arcane desire to protect even the lowliest ‘bandmate, despite the cost to herself. She gets a very maternally protective urge to shield her ‘bandmates and will often put herself in harm’s way to protect or aid them, even if that makes things worse.
20. What is a self-inflicted misery of theirs? (i.e. something they perpetuate themselves)
Hmm. The first thing that comes to mind is that she worries a lot about Vyneera and tends to stress over Vyneera’s health and safety and then keeps loving her to bits anyways. Really, she doesn’t have a lot of self-destructive behaviors at this point, though she does tend to run herself ragged and then pick up even more work, furthering her exhaustion.

Just trying to compile my thoughts on my GW2 characters' stories. No point in reading unless you're interested in my gross Mary Sue charr, I guess?
Alright, so, Kyr. At the moment, I'm leaning towards "Grew up Blood Legion, became part of the Spark warband right out of the fahrar. They were dispatched to... Iron Marches, perhaps. They aided the efforts there, but after a time, they received new orders and, despite being Blood, took on a more supporting role. Supplies, setting up encampments, etc. Kyr thought this strange, but trusted her warband and just followed orders. Eventually, she was sent back to the Black Citadel alone to meet with a contact and pick up some supplies. She was injured along the way, and her journey took longer than expected. Upon arriving, instead of her contact, there were Ash Legion spies. She was branded a Flame Legion sympathizer and taken to jail. Her warband had apparently been assisting the Flame Legion for the past while (ever since they'd received those new orders), and she'd been too short-sighted to see it or question her legionnaire. The contact she was supposed to meet was a sympathizer agent in the Citadel, and the supplies were weapons to outfit the Flame Legion. After a period of torture and interrogation, and with the word of her Primus, it was decided that she was just blindly following orders and was not directly a sympathizer, although she was certainly on thin ice. Her warband had, while she'd been incarcerated, fully turned to Flame Legion, so she was a Gladium now. She tried for quite some time to find a new warband, but she still had the taint of "Flame sympathizer" on her, despite being found 'innocent'. As such, no one would take her, not even scrappers, and she found herself with nothing. After a period of time, she gave up on searching for a warband, and now simply helps as she can. She avoids giving her name so that people don't recognize her or the Spark warband, and does her part helping where she can as a Gladium. As for Rakk... I dunno, I'm still really sort of confused on a lot of aspects of his lore. After reading, it seems like magic is inherent, but "control" is taught. If that's the case, I still have lots to figure out. What part of his magic first expressed itself (curses, probably?), where does one go to learn this sort of thing (I'd imagine a charr necromancer is probably sort of a pariah?), why did he want to learn it, etc etc. He's going to need some more development.
