It's so uncomfortable to watch but I'm actually excited about this storyline because even the people who are always making excuses for him will have to admit eventually that eddie is making conscious, awful decisions right now and he will have to deal with the consequences. There's this thing of painting buck as the silly screw-up and eddie as the level-headed smart one and it can only be good for his character growth if that stops

i think one of the reasons i find rick so compelling as an autistic character is that a bunch of his autistic traits are not treated as either purely good or bad but instead a mix of both. or just neutral parts of him as a person.

like on one hand his tendency to hyperfixate on things heavily contributes to his creativity and problem solving when it comes to his inventions and schemes. but he also often gets far too carried away and it ends up causing issues later down the line (eg: gotron)

like its very refreshing to see a character whose autistic traits arent … mutually exclusive. it makes him feel more real and less like a caricature

I really hope that s6 reveals a side of Emilie that Nathalie knew before she become this loving and nurturing mother (that I have no doubt about).

I want to get to know the insane, irrational side of her who would have gone through lengths to have a child of her own. The selfish Emilie who ignored Nathalie’s warning and ignored Gabriel’s pleading.

Ok but can you imagine Emilie stealing the peacock miraculous in the dead of night from Nathalie after she informed her about the consequences of using an unsafe miraculous, after Gabriel begged her to seek a different solution if it meant the cost of her life.

Imagine Gabriel waking up to an empty bed and searching the halls, only to find Emilie. Blue. Dressed in a long gown that oddly resembles that of a peacock tail. In the basement of their home cradling her belly.

‘Emilie. What. Did. You. Do?’

She turns to him and exhales breathlessly

‘I’m pregnant….’

People are so afraid of the possibility of neytiri not always being completely pure in her actions and that she is willing to do something drastic in a moment of grief. Honestly I find that idea way more interesting than "oh no, she actually cares for spider. See how she pushed him behind her in the last second!"

And then the deleted scene comes out proving me right. She was 100% on board with possibly killing spider because in that moment she wasn't thinking straight.

Like God forbid we have the "good" (I use that term with a grain of salt) characters doing questionable things because they've been pushed off the deep end.

What's the term? Morally gray?

the issue with the ivypool discourse is that like. both sides do in fact have a good point to make. the warriors fandom has always had poor reception to and understanding of mental illness, especially on the uglier side, & i do think part of the reactions to ivypool lashing out do come from this kind of mindset as well as typical fandom misogyny - especially considering she immediately regrets it, and a lot of people love to gloss over that.

but at the same time we haven’t gotten the full book yet and this kind of behaviour aligns too well with what we’ve seen from her before - consistent unfair treatment of another female character with little to no narrative consequences or even challenge to these behaviors. ivypool consistently treats dovewing badly in spite of dovewing’s attempts to make peace and the book will play this neutrally on a good day and agree with ivypool’s convictions on a bad one. we could be looking at another book of ivypool treating her sister horribly while dovewing just sits down and takes it and people are right to be upset about that.

After meeting each other again I imagine Arcade saw the ring on James' finger and assumed he was married

Probably worried about it for a few days before finally asking about it and James had to awkwardly explain that no, he's not in a relationship, he was just hanging on to it because he was planning on proposing to Arcade with it and couldn't bring himself to throw it away after getting his heart completely shattered when he was pushed away

Arcade probably felt bad and tried to explain himself/apologize but James just takes it off and hands it to him and tells him that it should've been his in the first place. Basically as a way of saying "I'm willing to rekindle this relationship if you think you're up to it". Also sort of because he wasn't gonna chase after Arcade this time and that it's now Arcade's own decision if they wanna be serious
