Testing PICAN CAN Bus HATs with the Raspberry Pi 5
The new Raspberry Pi 5 features the Broadcom BCM2712 quad-core Arm Cortex A76 processor @ 2.4GHz, up to three times faster than the previous generation. With RAM variants up to 8GB, this is the fastest, smoothest Raspberry Pi experience yet.
While we appreciate the increased performance of hardware and software, such an upgrade also causes major headaches for manufacturers and sellers of RPi HATs, such as our PiCAN CAN Bus HAT series. The questions that arise are: Is the HAT still hardware-compatible? Will the driver software and other software utilities still work?

TW: NSFW Minors DNI
We were in a small cabin in the woods, it smelled of damp and pine, fresh rain and country. Very early spring, very early morning. The sunrise laid across frosty grass. I still felt sleepy. And he was somewhat obscured in shadow, wearing a brimmed hat that darkened his face. He was whispering to me and rummaging about the cupboards, listing ingredients. He was wearing heavy boots which had spurs and a heavy black coat. He had an eerie quality. He was very tall, almost giant like.
I was wearing a pale blue and white dress, notable because I never appear wearing something so feminine. I sat on a stool and watched him accumulate the supplies. Berries and flour and apples, pie ingredients. He washed his hands and offered them to me, taking them and guiding me towards the sink to wash my own. His lips lingered by my neck, he sniffed me.  Then he dried my hands and directed me towards the counter.
As he rolled the dough, he explained to me that this too was a magical operation. Together we were making something delicious. He wanted me to mash the fruit and berries together in a big pot.
“Use this tool and mash them into paste, can you do that for me, my boy?”
Today he was being more gracious than usual. After every command, “can you do that for me?” and I nod and say yes, and he takes my chin and kisses me tenderly. “Thank you, love.”
I commented that I don’t like berries. It took some labor to smash them, my arm was tired. Due to my autism I actually can’t eat any berries in general, yeah. They are usually way too overwhelming for me to eat. There isn’t a single berry I like eating. The blueberries and raspberries smelt very sweet and I wanted to try tasting them, but I have never liked berries and hardly see them as edible.
But he pressed himself into me and dipped his finger into the berry paste I'd created, placing his other hand on my jaw and prompting me to open my mouth. I almost wanted to resist, but I trusted him instead. His finger met my tongue, and the paste was deliciously sweet. Not sour, not tangy, not too intense. Sweet like candy, of course it would be. I hummed at that, and he hummed in response. His fingers travelled from my mouth back up my dress, and he groped me as he prompted me to continue mashing the paste. His hands seemed to randomly explore me, like he knew he had free access to me.
Now he provided the pans with the crust of the pastry already prepared inside. He ordered me to fill them with the paste I'd created. and as I did, he unbuckled and slid down his pants, lifted up my skirt, and slipped himself inside me. I tried to subdue my reaction. The difference in our height made him pick me up to compensate. He went slowly so I wouldn’t spill. His warmth clinged to me, and I was made to fill the pastries with paste as he filled me. Words cannot explain the way he feels.
“That’s my boy, thank you, thank you.”
and his pace picks up with my breath. I overfill the pasties and spill paste on the counter. He grips my collar with a firmness, I anticipate some kind of punishment, I don’t know why, but instead he bites my neck and lays into me harder.
“That’s okay, baby,” like he’s reassuring me that the mistake wasn’t my fault. I couldn’t help it, how could I? Technically it was his fault.
I was out of paste, and I looked up at him for approval, or perhaps for my next instruction. his infinite gaze looked down at me. He wiped tears from my cheeks that I didn’t know were there.
He picks me up in his right hand and sits me on the table. There’s this old oven furnace like thing, and he puts the pies inside. Then he returns to me and props my legs apart, rides up my skirt, and grips my hair. I can hardly control my breathing.
“You have a couple options here,” he whispers harshly into my ear. “We can bake it for a very long time at a low heat,” and then he kisses me, “we can try to strike a balance in the middle,” he kisses me again, “or we can bake it very quickly, at a very high heat,” and another kiss.
I find it hard to form words. He knows this.
“The choice is yours, but you know which one I prefer.”
It took me a moment to think about it. At first I felt unprepared, but we both knew what I wanted. I never actually verbalized my choice, I only reached out to him and he knew what I had decided. I was too desperate to wait, I wanted it as hot as possible. I could not accept any less. Any less would be cruel.  A smile appeared on his face, and he removed his hat. I could see him more clearly now, he was as beautiful as ever. His face was younger than his voice.
“Then we’ll only need 15 minutes, but it will have to be very hot. ”
somehow even that felt like a generous amount of time. Then I was fully in his arms, it took him no effort to hold me, and he dug himself into me far deeper and faster than before. I had no strength to resist him. I pleaded with him until I had both far too much and nothing left. He ripped my dress, seeming almost frustrated with its getting in the way. In the cool air we were steaming with heat. It was so good it almost hurt. At the climax of it all, a ringing erupted from the oven and the pie was complete.
Lucifer, hot, seemingly pleased, but hardly phased, continued for a moment longer. He let the alarm ring out, still going until his full satisfaction, asking me constantly, “is this okay for you, my boy? Do you want more? Is this good?” and he demands my response, looking down at me like he will stop if I don’t answer. I can hardly make out a word, my tongue slurred “yes, my lord” to the best of its ability.
and then finally placed me down on the table and turned the oven off. The pie smelled delicious, wafting through the air like a tender blanket. I usually don’t care for the smell of blueberries, but in this place it was irresistible.
I imagined that he was going to try to feed it to me now, to prove how delicious it surely was, but instead he placed it on a plate and left it to cool. He saw my curious gaze.
“You will taste it soon enough, my boy.”
I was spent and I couldn’t remain lucid, I was fading. He pet me and stared at me like I was a shivering kitten. He kept murmuring things. “You know that you are mine, right?”
Thank Gods. In my blurry state I tried to respond to the best of my ability. “Yes, my Lord. I am yours.”
I didn’t get a conclusion to this experience, I drifted into a deeper sleep that gripped me until nearly 3pm the next day. I was absolutely and utterly exhausted. The intense energy exchange left me completely drained. I was awoken only to be treated to a steak dinner with my boyfriend, which was wonderful.
That pie is certainly a spell that I am yet to see the result of. I am still very excited to taste it.

Building a new monocle display/scope. Probably mount it to the brim of a hat.
It's a little bulky, but I can build one for $25 and the 'Sweet Spot' is the whole front of the thing.
If you've ever used a micro-display, then you know. Spend $200 on a display you can't see unless you stop and steady it with your hand, then it looks like a '50" TV at 20 feet" or something ... which mean 'little display, kinda far away'
I want this for a game where we'll mix Cyberpunk with Airsoft. So, it needs to be something I can use for night vision, and a Raspberry Pi display, while running and moving, and dirt cheap so everyone on a 4-person team gets one.
I'm shooting for a $100 night-vision enabled wearable, wi-fi capable, computer.
We'll see how close I can get by spring.

Man muss also Strg-Alt-Fn-Entf drücken, was grundsätzlich möglich, aber wirklich herausfordernd ist.

question
Has anyone done a 1x1x1x1 cosplay before? I’d be interested to see it cuz I’ve been searching around and I can’t find anything. Asking cus I need inspo for my own 1x4 cosplay and :3
rant on my cosplay idea and plan so far:
Potentially gonna do a wig,,,, idk if it will fit with the other stuff but if I don’t include the mask then fo sho I’m doing a white wig on the shorter side
visor mask,,,, STAY WITH ME HERE it’s like a full face covering but it’s tinted so u can’t see my face or anything and it would go ontop of some other stuff. if I remember then I’ll include a pic I forgot where I found it but it’s dope as flip
2 red led panels or lights,,,, ok this is where the visor mask comes in,,, I’d have the dark visor ontop but then the glowing led lights underneath so IT WOULD HAVE GLOWING EYES—— and yes I found some that would work on Amazon since I cannot be bothered how to code led matrices on raspberry pi or whatever. So ya the cool red lights goes underneath the visor then they mimic 1x4’s evil glowing eyes >:)
Latex bodysuit?,,,, so I’m not sure about how I would do the body of this cosplay which is kinda why I’m asking to see other people’s take on it—— my idea is I would use a neon green latex or vinyl material in a bodysuit then I could either sew, glue, or draw on the bones that 1x4 have in the torso since I can’t exactly poof my torso and idk how else to do it****** need ideas for the body
cloak and hood,,,, this one is self explanatory, I’d have the hood in a similar shape to the voidbound skin just without the lettering or pattern on the front edge and a cloak to cover the bodysuit thingy and drape behind me and be epik >-<
3d printed domino crown,,,, yes you heard it here folks, I’m getting a 3d printer and what better to use it on than Roblox hats lmao,,,, anyways I found and downloaded a free domino crown print file so when my printer comes in like a month I’ll use it to make the crown then paint it probably. Oh and when I do chance I can make lore accurate clockworks lol——
dope as flop 3d printed swords,,,, yeah I found another 3d print file for the classic link sword thing but I’ll have to paint this one too. I’ll probably make 2 and idk if I’ll make a 3rd one going through the chest we’ll see but I think it’s too ambitious
i have no clue for the pants, I think I’m just gonna go with regular black pants and maybe make a design or do some stuff with it
big chunky black boots,,,, i need an excuse to get some anyways plus they’d be super dope and fit the theme
accessories,,,, still thinking about it, maybe some belts and chains that’s I’ll paint black, thinking around the shoulders and on the torso
finals notes, this is a very tedious and ambitious cosplay so it’ll take me a hefty amount of time and convincing just to get my parents to get me materials to start this, also if you guys have any ideas of things I could use foam for that’d be nice I have so much foam I never used from previous failed fursuits but whatever thanks for reading my ramblings

For researchers, I find that these Raspberry Pi cases and extensions are far better suited to community work, fieldwork, and note taking than laptops or smartphones.
Similiar to the appearance of laptop DJs, who tend to look like they are checking their emails while playing, it is an akward view to hide behind an illuminated screen as a researcher, if you want to be engaged with the people around you and the situation.
Plus they are easier to use while standing up or walking. And having a physical keyboard as opposed to a screen keyboard on a tablet or phone means you can keep your eyes up while typing.

New project: Pwnagotchi battery case for Waveshare UPS Hat
There are already plenty of cases for the most adorable ai ever out there, but most of them require an external power source. I wanted an integrated battery and since I had a Waveshare hat left from a different project I tried it as an alternative to the pi sugar. The case fits the following parts, stacked on top of each other: 1) Waveshare E-Ink Display pHAT 2.13 inch 2) Raspberry Pi Zero WH 3) Waveshare UPS Hat (C) The 1000 mAh battery gives aprox. 4 hours of runtime, afterwards you can either a) recharge the battery while the pi remains off b) recharge the battery while the pi is on (the hat supports pass through) c) plug your external power source directly into the pi and recharge the battery later. All ports are still accessible and I also added a wider loop to attach a molle style key fob.

Raspberry Pi? Arduino?

MARILLA: You clutter up the house too much with outside things. Don't we have enough flowers right outside our door?
ANNE: I want the house to look flowery to impress Diana when she arrives for tea. May I use the rosebud spray tea set, Marilla?
MARILLA: No. The everyday set will be do for your company. You may have the fruitcake and the cherry preserves, and there's a bottle of raspberry cordial on the shelf in the kitchen. Now, tell Matthew that Mrs. Allan will drive me back, but I'll be late coming back from the Ladies Aid Society, so you must see that Matthew and Jerry's supper is laid out for them.
DIANA: Good afternoon, Miss Cuthbert.
MARILLA: Good afternoon, Diana. Now Anne, I trust that you will be responsible for your guest.
ANNE: I'll be the perfect hostess.
MARILLA: Have a lovely afternoon, ladies.
ANNE: May I take your parasol? Here, let me. [she helps Diana with her hat]
DIANA: So good of you to invite me to tea this afternoon.
ANNE: Please come in and make yourself comfortable.
DIANA: Why thank you.
ANNE: How is your mother?
DIANA: Very well, thank you. I saw Mr. Cuthbert hauling potatoes to the Lilly Sand's boat this afternoon.
ANNE: Our crop is quite good. We were fortunate to have hired Jerry Buote to help us with the harvest.
DIANA: Have you picked any apples, yet?
ANNE: Ever so many! Marilla has been cooking and baking endlessly. We have enought pies and cakes and preserves to last us for years. It isn't good manners to tell your guest what you're serving, so I won't tell you what she said we could have to drink.
DIANA: Oh, raspberry cordial, right? Oh, that's my favorite.
ANNE: You mean you've had it before?
DIANA: Lots of times. Haven't you?
I got the movie script from greengables-1.tripod.com I also got the pictures off of Pinterest!

#wasfehlt: Der elektronische Hundeabstandshalter
Wir brauchen was Kooperationsfreies. In anderen Worten: Was Illegales, Unethisches und Privatsphärenverletzendes.
Seitdem herrscht Frieden.

Hey Jess, did you finish the cabinet for Biohazard: Gun Survivor II Code Veronica yet? How's the project going? ^_^ Take your time and I can't wait to see how it turns out. ^_^ It's so cool you got one of SEGA's arcade PCB boxes.
Im still working on it but I’m a bit road locked at the moment.
I’m trying to figure out a solution for the games weird control scheme. The light gun in Biohazard gunsurvivor is also a joystick for moving around, and that style of gunstick isn’t super common (which means it’s expensive as hell to get one).
I’m looking at using an raspberry pi with an OpenJVS hat to handle input so I can use some other type of joystick, but there isn’t a super convenient way to use a joystick while also holding a light gun.
