More pigment stuff!

Bit of a throwback to my first post on this blog, I've added another pigment!

These here are Luminescent Terror Bricks, Terrorcotta, and Glazed Terrorcotta. This pigment is a bit of a special one, since all luminescent blocks, of course, glow!

Luminescent Pigment is made from Glow Bulbs, which can be found occasionally throughout the nether.

I think having six pigments in total rounds things out nicely, so this'll be it for the eventual 1.0 release.

Additionally, I've added another dyable block- Veincloth! Veincloth can be made from Reaching Veins, which are detailed in this post here. It functions as a nether version of wool, although you can't make it into a bed for. obvious reasons.

I like him!!! Right now it's taking me a bit to show focus on anyone atm but i like him (mostly cuz of his voice actor, who was prince renethal from WoW so he gets +2 for me)

Hi! I really love your ReNether mod and I was wondering if you plan to update it to 1.21.1 since the version it's currently in very little people play and I think your mod has a ton of potential and people need to get to know it! a hidden gem for sure!

Oh man who are your WoW/blizz faves?

Wrathion—I love how he interacts with the other characters, he is so smart and witty. Also, his dragon form model? Amazing. I liked his encounter in Ny'alotha too.

Majordomo Selistra—I love them, one of my favourite characters in Dragonflight honestly.

Renethal—my prince! I love Revendreth so much, best SL zone and you can fight me on this. My main was Venthyr even though it was the weakest covenant for my spec because I loved it so much. LOL

Lor'themar—he might be my oldest WoW crush. LOL He's one of those lore chararcters that feels dependable to me, I don't have to worry about him going mad with power and causing too much trouble.

Illidan—fan favourite for an obvious reason. I really warmed up to him in Legion since I didn't start playing until the end of BC. I'm still trying to get his glaives though, I'm missing one.

Anduin—I play Horde 95% of the time (except for my one Alliance alt I use for faction-specific mount/pet collecting). I really warmed up to him in BFA and Shadowlands. His cinematics have been SO GOOD, props to his VA.

Khadgar—the Solomon of WoW, I love this guy. His jokes are so bad, they're ridiculous. A total dilf for sure.

Rokhan—one of my favourite characters in BFA. I love trolls.

Bwonsamdi—sketchy af but hilarious. Troll fav bias showing here too.

Problematic favs (aka mostly bad guys/anti-heros I'm down bad for):

I am secretly #TeamOldGods except for C'thun. I dig the lore and the aesthetic and the creepy language and tentacles they're just really neat.

Denathrius—oh, Daddy D and his horny sword. Love this asshole, love his zone, love his raid, love his boss fight, love his little sword pet that kills things when she follows me around. BIG FAV.

Guldan—I don't like many orc characters but the chokehold he has on me. He's so evil and menacing. And his voice???

Azshara—she's been such a recurring villain throughout the game, it really built up the hype for me by the time she had more screen time in BFA. Her Warbringers cinematic was amazing. What a queen. Her boss fight was so tedious but still kind of fun. Actually, I enjoyed the Eternal Palace raid overall.

Zul—it was so obvious he was gonna go bad, but I did not care. My troll bias is showing again.

Taran Zhu—don't ask.

Falric and Marwyn—I am so weak for their voices like hello? Absolute monsters, but I'd let that happen.

The Sound of Crashing Ships, Chapter 2

Thank you for your patience as we break from our regular posts. We are happy to present the second chapter of Bora Renethal’s newest adventure novel: The Sound of Crashing Ships.

Platinum is towed through space towards the Technobeast. Her ship is dark, electronics still disabled by the electrified nets.

It takes no more than sixty seconds to pull her into the body of the beast, but it feels like hours. She should be preparing for the worst, but Platinum is an academic at heart and can’t stop herself from thinking about all of the witness accounts of the Technobeast. How they must not have seen the people inside, or maybe they did and they've negotiated their way out by promising secrecy.

Platinum is ready for anything as the ships pull her lightweight explorer towards the tight weave of spaceships that make up the flesh of the beast. Ships part to make an opening. Once inside she finds she was absolutely not ready for anything.

Bright light shines through trees. She sees birds flit by as she sits in stunned silence. She recognizes a magic barrier she passes through as one that will keep air in, and an artificial sun brings life to an isolated ecosystem.

Platinum hears a sound that she has been chasing her entire adult life. The gentle yet irregular hum of a portal. This might be her shot.

As soon as she's certain she's in the atmosphere, she kicks open the emergency latch to pop open the cockpit. She springs out of her ship and lands with her feet on the ground. She runs towards the sound, stepping over roots and foliage. It feels like she's running through the jungle just like home, but it feels so wrong knowing it's all sitting on metal drifting in space.

Through a thicket Platinum sets eyes on a portal - no telling where it goes yet. Just then she feels a surge of electricity through her metallic body, just like the one that disabled her ship. She trips, looking down to see the electrified bola that has incapacitated her as she tastes iron.

"You'll have to do something for us first"

Platinum turns her head as much as she can to face the voice as a branch pokes her face on the ground. A woman with a pilot's helmet and a long green jacket stands above her with a knife in hand.

"You've got a debt to pay before you can rely on the beast's kindness, let alone mine."

Turns out I've done all of them already except Venthyr. I had all of the mounts, armor sets, and ensembles for Bastion, Maldraxxus, and Night Fae.

Pigments and Terrorcotta

For ReNether I knew I wanted to implement a good handful of new buildings blocks, so I've added some new items I'm calling Pigments!

These are Crimson, Warped, Ashen, Amber, and Marrow Pigments

They're found through similar methods to dyes- Crimson and Warped pigments are made from crafting crimson and warped roots, respectively. You'll have to wait and see where the others come from though :)

Pigments can be used to dye Terrorcotta (couldn't resist the pun), which is made with Ash and Soul Soil. Terrorcotta can be glazed, as well as made into some bricks.

Sire Denathrius (World of Warcraft, he ACTUALLY killed his people for not paying the tithe when he was the one starving them. But he held Renethal up by his throat and in the raid he yelled "Scream for me!" So yeah)

Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty, a prick, but I like watching him fuck shit up and call Jerry out on his bs)

Vilgefortz (the Witcher, annoying, but he looks hot af doing it. RhySAnd -SJM really- could learn something from him)

Fringilla and Francesca (The Witcher, they're supposed to be the bad guys but they make a lot of sense. Love me some smart women characters.)

Maegor Targaryen (Fire and blood. He saved house Targaryen and went to war with the faith, as he should. Only reasons why I like him. Again, don't come after me for this. I dislike him for the most part)

Fang Runin (The Poppy War)

I'm really glad you updated ReNether! that was extremely fast, I have no idea how you managed to do that xD If you don't mind me asking, I was curious to know if you have plans to have a fabric version aswell? I don't know what has changed but since NeoForge came looks like most fabric mods started getting ported to NeoForge, so I don't know if the process became easier or what but anyway, amazing work you've done. I'll tell a couple youtube friends I have to showcase your mod on their channel! ^^

Once I realized I could just remove armor trims, the process was pretty straight forward!

Fabric version is very unlikely unfortunately, mcreator doesn’t support fabric very well. Also even if it was possible, it’s a pretty technical / intensive process :p

The Sound of Crashing Ships

Today we are pleased to share an excerpt from Bora Renethal’s new action novel, The Sound of Crashing Ships. Enjoy, and pick up on store shelves now!

“No fucking way” said Platinum, “The Technobeast is real?” She looked out of her cramped cockpit and saw the monster she’s been tracking for decades: an enormous reptile-like beast composed of ships flying through space all moving together in concert, acting truly like biological parts. Personal pods made up vertebrae and teeth. Space yachts form fins on the back that shift as though there's a breeze. Longer ships make up the arms and legs, gently moving asteroids out of the way as it moves. Some ships look new, most look old. This creature existing is an anomaly in every way.

After all this time, all those people saying it was foolish, and zero hard evidence to back up her hunch, she had given up believing in what she was looking for. The only thing keeping he going was desperation. This was her only way to make it home to the elemental plane of earth.

Platinum grounds herself, looking at her own crystalline eyes and metallic skin in the mirror before putting on her goggles and shifting on the thrusters once again. Maybe for the last time. She's pushed back in her seat as she approaches her destiny.

Looking up at the beast as she pulls up to the face, the Technobeast of legend only looks like a gentle giant. Maybe getting it to cooperate won't be so hard. As soon as she gets in range to make a transmission, five fighter ships break off from the formation of the face. The huge metal eyes of the beast lock on. Suddenly Platinum is in a fight for her life.

Without missing a beat, she flips 180 and starts zipping through the asteroids. She needs to know how competent these ships are. She watches her display closely, tracking the other ships. Four of them stay cautiously in open space while one smaller ship follows close behind. It fires a few shots but they only find asteroids. Rubble batters the glass of the cockpit. This ship has been through worse.

Platinum knows she needs a plan. Some way to communicate. She switches gears and flies straight out of the asteroid field. She flies straight towards the beast. She's wide open, and can be easily shot down, but any missed shots would strike the beast square in the face. She breathes deep, knowing she is making several assumptions about the logic of her pursuers.

The gamble pays off! No shots follow her. She prepares a transmission to any receivers that can hear.

"Technobeast!" She yells into the microphone knowing her life depends on it. Another fighter ship peels off from the main body, then another. "I am here to ask you to right a wrong!" More fighters still start to approach. They launch electrified netting, disabling her thrusters. "I am Platinum Erisca. You brought my family here, and I want back!" More nets pile on as the ships only get closer. "Please! I only want passage home!" Emotion overtakes her an her voice cracks.

The beast bears no reaction on its face. No sympathy. A surge of electricity cuts off the power in Platinum's ship. All the displays go dark. The beasts fighters get close enough that she can see into the cockpit. She sees a face. A human face. She realizes these ships weren't autonomous at all. They're all piloted. All understanding she thought she had is gone.

The fighters latch onto their nets and begin towing her ship towards the Technobeast.
