To the extent you feel comfortable sharing ofc - why do you need a mouth reconstruction? Is that something dental insurance doesn't cover?
Best of luck for your recovery <3
I have a combination of very weak enamel and furious teeth grinding. The combination meant that my teeth were sheered down until the enamel was gone. I was down to just the dentin underneath, which means my teeth were only going to start eroding faster. Multiple dental providers were saying that I was on track for dentures by fifty. I was super cold sensitive on one side, and I had a tooth pulled on the other side due to a botched root canal, which meant there was no way to comfortably chew many types of food. It was affecting what I’d choose to eat, and buddy I do NOT need more obstacles to eating. And just aesthetics-wise, my teeth’s appearance didn’t bother me enough to pay this much just for them to look better, but I didn’t love that they were permanently yellow and that my face was losing height due to how small my teeth were.
(I’m convinced my prosthedontist and my dental surgeon were both more bothered by the aesthetics of my mouth than I was. My surgeon literally said, “I bet you were pretty insecure about your teeth before this, right?” And I was like “ummmm not really?“ and he was like “really? I mean good! But please understand they look so much better.”)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I got gum surgery and a base for a dental implant installed several months ago, and now I’ve got temporary crowns in which are actually these connected blocks of teeth that I need special floss to take care of.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They’re So Big and So White.
And tomorrow I get my permanent crowns which should look and feel like real teeth! And then after that I get fitted for a mouthguard to prevent me from wearing the new ones down to nubs as well. (You can use an over the counter mouth guard for grinding, which is what I was using while I was buying time to get my teeth fixed. I’m getting in custom fit in the hopes my jaw will be less sore when I wake up. Any mouthguard is better than no mouth guard if you’re a grinder though, trust me. Save yourself the enamel and the money.)
Speaking of money, I’ll be super blunt: in total, I paid about $8000 for the gum surgery and implant, and $36000 for almost entire mouth of new crowns (I’ve only got two original teeth left). Insurance covered a little over half the surgery fees and like $2k of the crowns. (My insurance will pay for up to 50% of the price of a crown every two years, and I need about twenty crowns all at once, so. Yeah.) I investigated going to Mexico or Canada to get the work done, but ultimately my dental situation is complicated enough to require coordination of multiple providers and regular check ups over many months. It was going to be to complicated to arrange that internationally, plus travel and lodgings, to be worth the diminishing amount of money I would save. I do think I could have gotten all this work done for cheaper, but I’m not sure if it actually would have been something I followed through on. And basically, the sooner I get this work done, the better in terms of face shape and teeth migration and all that, so I was like “fuck it let’s go,” so here we are. In twenty-four hours, I’ll have a brand new mouth.

I read all the comments and messages on my latest spiral, I hope this reads a bit more sane. I feel more sane. I'm feeling better in a lot of ways. I do feel much better about being here in this community. I believe the fic can wait and it'll be okay. And I've been talking on discord a lot which has helped me to not feel as isolated and strange. Even if a lot of it is just keeping people from spamming spiders in the chat or trying not to doxx myself.
Big old rant about my weird day under the cut.
I started the day by having a moment where I realised how much I would be missed if I weren't here any more and that broke my heart so I think I'm heading in the right direction now mentally. It keeps running through my mind. It was a sad moment but it might be a good thing.
I turned into a cocoon and ate chocolate for a couple of hours. Didn't think I'd get out of bed today but here I am :)
I ticked some alive person boxes - I showered, ate, tidied, put some clothes on to wash.
I wrote a really tense scene which is going to be a big turning point in my story, even though it's floating around without context right now.
Then I sent some emails. I still haven't had a response from student advocacy around my situation. I messaged the person who is meant to be doing a group project with me to see if she's alive. Finally, I emailed the course coordinators to tell them this situation is not going to work as it is. Because I'm stressed out of my mind and I've just hit another wall and cannot stop crying every time I open my partially-complete assignments. So their response will decide whether I will lose my placement - my amazing placement that I'll never be lucky enough to get twice - or not. I'm hoping not, but that's not how the rules go.
Now I need to do a little grocery shopping. Someone said I should get a sweet treat and even though I ate chocolate this morning I think I'll do that. I should be studying but I just can't bring myself to right now. Too much crying.
In two hours I'll learn whether and when I can have surgery for my dumb ankle. It's usually okay - I can't jog or run for long but I can usually walk without pain - but yesterday I had a bad ankle day and was reminded why I've been trying to get it fixed in the first place. It's reconstructive surgery, not sure how much that will slow me down but it might make placement impossible too.
Another day another rant. I think I've done everything I can with uni. I feel like I have. I'm sorry I keep posting these. It's hard to talk about with the people in my life because we're all struggling, aren't we? And I'm already getting so much support just to be able to study. There's nothing more they can give, so I won't ask for it. I hope everyone is doing alright, I know lots of us aren't and it's not fair. I hope you're having a good day at the very least. I think mine is getting better :)

from a 2018 interview with Dr. Ghassan Abu Sitta on his experiences treating protesters wounded by the IOF during the Great March of Return:
"By 7:00 P.M., the system was on the verge of collapse. There were more injuries than there were beds, or operating rooms, in all of Gaza. Patients at al-Shifa were waiting four to five hours to get into the operating theater. At al-Awda alone, we had seen 120 gunshot wounds, and we were only a 3-operating room, 70-bed hospital. Every single case needed some kind of surgical intervention. And then suddenly there was a decision by the organizing committee of the march, I believe, to start pulling people back because they realized the system was basically about to collapse. By 7:00 P.M. it had become apparent that over a four-hour period, the number of injured had reached 3,500, with around 1,500–2,000 of those being gunshot wounds. Other than the 120 gunshot wounds at al-Awda, we had a lot of gas inhalation cases. And this wasn’t tear gas but nerve gas. These cases have continuous convulsions for an hour and need close monitoring and intervention in the form of anticonvulsants. ... The following day, the number of injured actually dropped because the whole of Gaza was in a state of shock: there had been 63 killed, 44 amputations, and 3,500 wounded in the space of four hours the day before, meaning that we were looking at something closer to a World War I–type carnage than a demonstration. The drop in casualty numbers allowed us to take on more cases: by day three, we were beginning to look at reconstruction for the previously injured and to really start to figure out what we would need for them. And the initial waiting list of 500 I mentioned earlier had more than tripled: there were now 1,600 cases that needed reconstructive surgery, that is, repeated surgical interventions were required to reconstruct these injuries.
Can you give us examples of specific cases? There were lots of cases of what we call 'fragmentation bullets,' historically known as 'dumdum' bullets. Fragmentation bullets were the first weapons to be banned in international law because the very point of that particular weapon is to maximize injury: a fragmentation bullet fragments into 20–25 different pieces when it hits the body. We saw lots of those. A guy came in one day with two bullet wounds, one in each of his ankles. From the trajectory of the bullet, we could tell that this was not a 'through-and-through,' that is, when a bullet penetrates one limb, exits, and then goes into another limb. These were two separate bullets, and the fact that they were both lodged in his ankles meant that they were fired at the same time or else he would have fallen. This man was shot at the same time by two different snipers. So, it is very likely that the two snipers were coordinating with each other to target this man, that it was not an accident. They must have been talking and saying let’s shoot this guy, I’ll take the right ankle and you take the left. That is what this injury implies. Yes absolutely, it was not an accident. It’s like a game, a sport.
... Tissue damage is all about the transfer of energy from the bullet to the tissue. So by definition, by their very nature, 'regular' sniper bullets have the highest form of energy and therefore the amount of damage that they are capable of causing is immense. But what we saw is that even these bullets were being tampered with by the snipers to allow them to behave like fragmentation bullets so that they would release more energy as they hit the body. They were drilling the bullets in such a way as to weaken the tips, so that once a bullet hit the body it would fragment into multiple pieces. ... The Israelis understand that the world counts the dead and considers the injured or the wounded a lesser crime, so to speak, and so it is an attempt at creating an 'iceberg effect': that is, a situation where what is apparent is the killed but the real crime is in the wounded [who are not as visible] and the type of wounds that have been inflicted. To have 13,000 wounded in a place that counts 1.8 million people ... that figure bespeaks a battlefield, not a demonstration." By the end of 2019, occupation forces killed 322 demonstrators (x) and injured 35,600 more (x), including many thousands with severe injuries leading to long-term disability (x). IOF snipers were documented shooting unarmed protesters with the intent to kill (x), as well as targeting kneecaps to permanently disable protesters (x). Their targets included children, paramedics, and journalists. Many protesters were left with long-term disabilities and trauma (x). This is how the occupation responds to unarmed resistance (or what liberals call "peaceful protest"): with "World War I-type carnage" that "bespeaks a battlefield."

I’m back on my bullshit pissed as ever at anime fans refusing to be anything other than ableist ✨
There’s recently been a huge rise in an AU in the JJK fandom where Nobara survived Mahito’s attack and wears an eyepatch. All fine and dandy. I don’t mind that one bit. I do believe that her facial injuries would require either reconstructive surgery or something larger than an eye patch to cover the damage, but all in all, I’m content with that. I love Nobara and actively stopped watching after she died for a long while. This AU is a-okay in my books, and I honestly quite enjoy the thought of it.
Until I see how people are drawing it.
Every. Single. Fucking. Post. She just has that inaccurate, stereotypical “Perfectly Normal Eye That’s Just A Little Milky But Otherwise Looks Fine.” No scarring around the eye. No disfigurations. Not even a glass eye. Nothing.
Are we, perhaps, forgetting this scene where you can see Yuji clear through her fucking head??
Tumblr media
This one? Remember this?? Ringing any bells??? Yeah that’s a hole in her fucking head
I am so sick and tired of people with physical differences/disabilities/etc having the reality of what their bodies look like being ignored or having their physical traits watered down until they can be shoved right back into conventionally beautiful little boxes wrapped up in pretty pink bows because we can’t be considered beautiful in our differences. And it always, ALWAYS boils down to this: we make able bodied people uncomfortable. We have to censor ourselves because other people feel like they’re entitled to not looking at us in public.
Someone is not less than because of their physical appearance. They are not unworthy of love or acceptance for showing visible signs surviving a severe physical trauma. They are not less beautiful, less acceptable, less anything. They do not deserve to feel shunned, outcasted, or like some alien out of a horror movie just because the Christians got their holy panties in a wad over them looking “demonic”, solely because they are, again, physically different.
Just in case I need to reiterate: HER FUCKING HEAD HAD A HOLE THROUGH IT.
Her eye would be gone! It was completely blown out and unsalvageable! Her face would not look the same! It And guess that? That is fuckin FINE!
She’s allowed to look different! She doesn’t even have to feel “ugly” because of it! Sure, it might take her a while to feel okay about it, she might struggle, but she does not have to view herself as some disgusting monster in this AU just because she’s now different from how she was before Shibuya.
Give her ACCURATE INJURIES. She lost part of her brain, yall! make the recovery process include coming to terms with her new appearance and learning to accept and love herself, INCLUDING her face. Show her getting used to the sudden loss of vision! The change to her depth perception and how she copes with it! How she might struggle with her speech or her coordination after suffering a traumatic brain injury! That makes for SUCH a more compelling story than “ouhhhh she wanted to be a model but now she CAN’T because she’s DISABLED and UGLY!!!”
I am SICK AND FUCKING TIRED of anime fans woobifying injuries that could have killed someone it’s mithrun all fucking over again

Why Multispeciality Hospitals Are the Best Choice for Complex Surgeries
When it comes to complex surgeries, choosing the right hospital is crucial. A successful procedure depends not just on the skill of the surgeon but also on the overall medical support available. That’s where multispeciality hospitals stand out. If you are looking for the best multispeciality hospital in Vadodara, then you should select the one offers advanced technology, experienced specialists, and seamless care.
1. Access to Multiple Specialities Under One Roof
One of the biggest advantages of a multispeciality hospital is the presence of experts from different medical fields. Complex surgeries often require teamwork. For example, a heart surgery might involve input from a cardiologist, an anaesthetist, and an intensive care specialist. Similarly, a cancer operation could involve an oncologist, a radiologist, and a plastic surgeon for reconstruction.
In a multispeciality hospital, all these specialists are available in one place, making consultations and coordinated treatment much easier. This reduces delays and improves the overall success of the surgery.
2. Advanced Technology and Equipment
Complex surgeries require cutting-edge technology. From high-precision robotic surgery to minimally invasive techniques, the right tools significantly improve surgical outcomes.
Multispeciality hospitals invest heavily in modern medical equipment. They have state-of-the-art operating rooms, imaging facilities for MRI and CT scans, and advanced monitoring systems, which ensure that every surgery is performed with the highest level of accuracy and safety.
3. Round-the-Clock Emergency and Critical Care
Surgeries come with risks, and complications can arise even in the best conditions. This is why having a well-equipped emergency and critical care unit is essential.
Multispeciality hospitals have ICUs with advanced life-support systems, highly trained critical care doctors, and 24/7 emergency teams. This means that if any complications occur during or after surgery, help is available immediately. Quick response times can be life-saving, especially in critical cases like brain surgery or organ transplants.
4. Better Post-Surgery Care and Rehabilitation
A successful surgery doesn’t end in the operating theatre. Post-operative care plays a huge role in recovery.
In a multispeciality hospital, you have access to physiotherapists, nutritionists, and pain management experts who work together to help you heal faster. Whether you’re learning to walk again after orthopaedic surgery or managing your diet after bariatric surgery, a team of specialists ensures a smooth recovery.
5. Reduced Risk of Infections
Infections are a major concern after surgery. Unlike smaller hospitals or standalone clinics, multispeciality hospitals follow strict infection control protocols. They have dedicated sterile zones, advanced air filtration systems, and well-trained staff who follow stringent hygiene practices.
This reduces the chances of post-surgical infections, ensuring a safer and faster healing process.
Conclusion
When facing a complex surgery, choosing the right hospital can make all the difference. A multispeciality hospital offers a team of experts, the latest technology, advanced emergency care, and seamless coordination, all under one roof. This makes the entire treatment process smoother, safer, and more effective.
If you or a loved one needs surgery, consider the best multispeciality hospital in Vadodara for high-quality care and successful recovery. After all, when it comes to health, nothing should be left to chance.

Traditions Assistant Training Class of '25-'27
The training class I was fortunate enough to be a part of was vastly different than anything I have experienced in my almost 10 years here at Walt Disney World.
The leaders who presented and created the course were amazing. So positive and upbeat.
The guest speakers, including an Imagineer, were funny and inspiring.
The other participants were energetic, enthusiastic and came from all over the resort. Coordinators, managers, leaders and so much energy was ever present.
Then there was me.
Basically, none of those things.
On top of feeling like a fish out of water and having a bad case of Imposter Syndrome, my Gender Disphoria has been in high gear lately.
Tumblr media
<training group for the Magic Kingdom segment of the Traditions class >
The week focused less on the actual script and mechanics of the class and more on team building, attitude, spirit, energy and comradery.
Doesn't mean there wasn't a script to learn. Because there certainly was.
Tumblr media
It just wasn't the primary focus of the week. It wasn't until day 4 and 5 that we dug into the pages.
Tumblr media
<Ice Cream break!>
My Disphoria though was tough to have crop up so intensely this week.
Part of it is due to the fact my facial reconstruction surgery is in just two weeks. While I'm both excited and nervous for this procedure it has me me terribly self conscious about my appearance right now. It made me ashamed to be a part of this group of great people.
I felt ugly, timid, scared, clumsy, awkward and so hopelessly out matched I wanted to crawl into a hole and dissappear.
To put the icing on the cake we then went out to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. So that way I could show off my lack of social skills.
Tumblr media
I'm scheduled to do my first class on March 19th just 16 days after my face gets carved up.
Now I'm scared witless I won't know the class presentation AND will be a visual wreck trying to recover from severe swelling and bruising.
Then the Traditions team will know that they made a bad mistake with choosing me as a DEI hire.
Because as far as I was told I am the first obviously transperson to be selected.
So now that means I get to be dissapointing to even more people.
What the hell have I gotten myself into??

Common Breast Reconstruction Procedures for Breast Cancer Patients
Tumblr media
Breast reconstruction refers to the process of recreating breasts for cancer patients who have undergone mastectomy or lumpectomy. Also known as therapeutic mammoplasty, breast reconstruction procedure can be performed in different ways and can be immediate or delayed in nature. The surgery can be performed in one step or two steps according to the unique needs of the patient and the preference of the Practitioner. This blog discusses the most common procedures related to breast reconstruction in Dubai.
Implant-based Reconstruction
Breast implants are enclosed prostheses made of either silicone or saline. Silicone implants are made of gel that is not as fluid as the salt water in saline implants. Implants can be placed just below the chest muscles, underneath the glandular breast tissue and above the chest muscle, or inside the outer sheath of the chest muscle. The implants can vary in texture, size, profile, and shape.
The implant-based breast reconstruction surgery can be performed according to the following approaches:
Tissue Expander: A tissue expander is an empty implant that is placed to make room for the actual implant that is inserted later in this two-step process.
Biological Mesh: The biological mesh can be acellular dermal or a synthetic mesh that is absorbable and is introduced to make space for the breasts implants.
Flap Reconstruction
Flap reconstruction involves rebuilding breasts by grafting skin, muscle, and fat from other areas of body like the abdomen, back, and thighs.  During extraction, the blood and nerve supply for the tissue is protected to keep the graft alive. A mound is then created in the breast by undermining the breast tissue. This mound forms the space for the graft that is molded and reshaped to look like a breast.
Flap reconstruction appears more natural and is deemed safer as it utilizes the body tissue of the patient. Once the graft is converted into a breasts, nipple and areola are also constructed to finish the process. This nipple-areola complex can then be medically tattooed to reflect the original structures in terms of pigment, shading, and projection.
Flap reconstruction is of two types:
·        Latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction
During this type of flap reconstruction, an oval-shaped section of the skin near the shoulder blade is tunneled under the arm pits and brought to the chest. Some portion of the latissimus dorsi flap, underlying fat, blood vessels, and the nerve supply is also taken in the process. All of this is done while ensuring the structures remain attached to the origin.
·        Diep flap reconstruction
Diep flap reconstruction involves taking a complete graft of skin and fat from the lower abdomen and transferring it to the breasts. The blood vessels are attached to the supply system of the chest and the tissue is molded to recreate natural-looking breasts. Diep flap reconstruction is actually a combination of abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and breast reconstruction. It provides manifold benefits i.e., removal of excess skin and fat from the stomach and the building of breasts from the extracted tissue.
Fat Transfer Reconstruction
Fat transfer is usually employed alongside other above-mentioned breast reconstruction procedures to give added boost to the results. It revolves around performing liposuction as an adjunct to collect fat cells from the high fat-containing areas, purifying them in centrifuge, and finally injecting them into the breasts to enhance their size and shape.

Recovery doesn’t end with surgery. In fact, true healing begins after the procedure — when patients start regaining strength, mobility, and independence. At Deccan Multispecialty Hardikar Hospital, we believe rehabilitation is not a one-size-fits-all process. Instead, it’s a personalized, multidisciplinary journey, guided by experts from various fields, all working together to help you heal better and faster.
Tumblr media
🔹 What Is Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation?
Multidisciplinary rehabilitation involves doctors, physiotherapists, yoga therapists, dieticians, psychologists, occupational therapists, and nurses collaborating on a customized recovery plan. It ensures that every aspect of a patient’s healing — physical, emotional, nutritional, and functional — is addressed.
Whether you’ve undergone joint replacement, spine surgery, trauma care, stroke treatment, or are managing chronic pain or disability, our rehab team works as one unit with a single goal: your complete recovery.
🔹 Why Our Multispecialty Approach Works
At Deccan Hardikar, rehabilitation isn’t limited to just a few physiotherapy sessions. It’s an integrated program, offering:
Continuity of care from operation theater to outpatient rehab
Close coordination between surgeons and therapists
Patient-specific milestones based on condition and progress
A blend of modern science and traditional healing (like Medical Yoga)
We treat not just the injury, but the whole person — helping you regain your confidence, lifestyle, and quality of life.
🔹 Key Components of Our Rehabilitation Program

Focused on improving posture, flexibility, breathing, and emotional well-being
This holistic therapy is especially effective for:
Post-surgery recovery
Spine and joint problems

Patients who struggle with performing everyday activities — after a stroke, surgery, or injury — benefit from occupational therapy, which helps with:
Relearning daily tasks (dressing, grooming, cooking)
Adapting home/work environments for better mobility
Improving hand function and fine motor skills
✅ 4. Nutritional Guidance
Recovery is faster and more complete when the body receives the right fuel. Our dietitians provide:
Post-surgery nutritional plans
Support for weight management and bone health

Healing is as much mental as it is physical. Our counselors support patients dealing with:
Post-operative anxiety or depression

Australian Guide to Dentzz: Reviews and What Sets Dentzz Dental Apart
Choosing a reliable dental service provider is one of the most important decisions anyone can make for their oral health. This is especially true for Australians who are increasingly exploring dental tourism options due to the rising cost of dental care at home. One name that consistently appears in online searches, forums, and patient feedback is Dentzz — a well-known dental clinic with an international reputation. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll look at Dentzz Reviews, explore why Australians are considering Dentzz Dental, and highlight what makes this dental provider stand out.
Why Australians Are Choosing Dentzz for Dental Treatments

Growing Need for Head and Neck Cancer Treatment in India
India records one of the highest burdens of head and neck cancers globally. According to estimates, nearly 30% of all cancer cases in India fall under this category, primarily due to high rates of tobacco chewing and smoking. These cancers can significantly affect the patient's speech, swallowing, and appearance, thus impacting their quality of life.
The complexity of these cancers often requires a multi-disciplinary approach—involving surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, and reconstructive surgeons. Moreover, rehabilitation support such as speech therapy, nutritional counseling, and psychological support plays a vital role in the overall recovery journey.
Head and Neck Cancer Treatment Options in India
Treatment depends on the cancer's type, location, stage, and the overall health of the patient. Common treatment options include:
Surgery: Removal of tumors in the oral cavity, throat, or other affected regions.
Radiation Therapy: High-energy rays are used to destroy cancer cells, often used post-surgery or as a primary treatment in early stages.
Chemotherapy: Anti-cancer drugs are used, particularly for advanced-stage cancers.
Targeted Therapy and Immunotherapy: Advanced treatment options that help target specific cancer cells with minimal damage to healthy cells.
Reconstructive Surgery: Post-tumor removal, cosmetic and functional reconstruction helps restore appearance and functionality.
Rehabilitation Services: Speech therapy, physiotherapy, and dietary counseling aid in regaining function and quality of life.

Fat Grafting Breast Augmentation in Thrissur
Tumblr media
Achieve Natural, Beautiful Results with Autologous Fat Transfer
Breast augmentation remains one of the most sought-after cosmetic procedures worldwide. For many women, enhancing breast size, shape, and volume goes beyond aesthetics—it’s a deeply personal journey toward confidence, self-expression, and body harmony. At Sushrutha Institute of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery in Koorkenchery, Thrissur, we've pioneered the art and science of breast enhancement, with a special focus on fat grafting breast augmentation—a revolutionary technique that offers incredibly natural results using your own body’s fat.
1. What Is Fat Grafting Breast Augmentation?
Fat grafting, also known as autologous fat transfer or fat injection, is a two-in-one cosmetic procedure. We perform gentle liposuction on your donor areas—commonly the thighs, abdomen, flanks, or buttocks—then purify and meticulously inject that fat into your breasts.
Benefits at a Glance:
Completely natural feel and contour
No synthetic implants
Dual benefits: enhanced breasts plus sculpted donor areas
Minimized risk (no implant rupture or rejection)
Lower chances of complications like capsular contracture
Smaller scars, faster recovery
At our Thrissur facility, we utilize advanced micro-fat filtration systems and fine cannulas to enhance fat survival and ensure smooth shaping—producing beautiful, long-lasting results.
2. Why Choose Fat Grafting Over Traditional Implants?
Fat grafting is quickly gaining popularity for its multiple advantages:
The most natural feel: No foreign material—your own fat integrates seamlessly into breast tissue.
Holistic body enhancement: You’ll get sculpted donor areas (like thighs or tummy) and fuller breasts, all in one procedure.
Tiny, subtle scars: Just a few small punctures for liposuction and injections, leaving minimal visible scarring.
Lower risk: No implant means no rupture risk, capsular contracture, or replacement surgeries.
Faster recovery: Many patients experience minimal discomfort and resume daily activities sooner than implant surgery.
Personalized outcome: We shape your breasts organically, layer by layer, to achieve your ideal contour.
This technique is ideal for women seeking a modest, natural enhancement—such as going from A to B/C—or those recovering from mastectomy who need autologous reconstruction. For substantial increases in size, we may recommend combining fat grafting with small implants for optimal results.
3. Who Is a Good Candidate?
a) Aesthetic Goals
Those desiring a gentle increase in breast volume and shape—A-to-C cup range—often prefer fat grafting.
b) Healthy Body Weight
Candidates should be physically healthy, free from uncontrolled illness, and at a stable weight—vital for consistent fat retention and even breast shape.
c) Adequate Donor Fat
A sufficient fat reserve in areas like abdomen, thighs, or hips is essential. Very lean individuals may need implants alone or in combination.
d) Non-Smoker Status
Smoking impairs circulation and healing; candidates should quit before and after surgery to support fat survival and reduce complications.
e) Mindful Expectations
Realism is key. Results aren’t as dramatic as high-volume implants, but are wonderfully natural and discreet. More fat may be transferred in secondary sessions if desired.
f) Consented to Dual Procedures
Since liposuction is involved, patients must consent to two coordinated procedures, typically under general anesthesia.
4. How It Works: Step-by-Step Procedure
Step 1: Consultation & Planning
Thorough health review and tailored aesthetic discussion
Fat donor zones mapped out
Outcome goals reviewed and 3D imaging optional
Step 2: Preparation & Anesthesia
General anesthesia or deep IV sedation
Tiny incisions (2–3 mm) planned in donor and breast sites
Step 3: Fat Harvesting
Gentle, low-pressure liposuction removes adipose tissue
Carefully avoids damage to fat cells
Step 4: Processing & Purification
Fat is purified via centrifugation, decantation, or filtration
Removes blood, oil, and debris to isolate healthy fat
Step 5: Injection & Sculpting
Fat is injected in meticulous layers with fine cannulas
Ensures uniform grafting and natural shape
Step 6: Recovery & Immediate Results
Slight overcorrection accounts for some fat absorption
Pressing garments applied
Recovery time is brief; most return to light activity within days
Step 7: Follow-Up
Regular post-op appointments to track fat retention and outcomes
Minor touch-up sessions may be scheduled if needed
5. Recovering From Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation
Typical Downtime:
3–5 days of rest, with gradual return to normal routines
Light activities after a week; avoid strenuous exertion for ~4 weeks
What to Expect:
Moderate swelling, bruising, and tenderness at donor/breast sites
Mild tightness in liposuction zones
Short-term compression garments
1–2 Months Out:
Swelling subsides; fat graft stabilizes
Final results visible around 3–4 months; minor volume loss possible
Long-Term Outcome:
Fat cells that establish a blood supply remain permanently
Results are long-lasting, barring major weight fluctuations
6. Safety Profile & Risk Management
Our surgical protocols and safety standards at Sushrutha Institute prioritize patient well-being.
Key Advantages Over Implants:
No rupture or capsular contracture
Reduced foreign-body response
Many surgeons consider fat grafting a safer, less invasive choice
Potential Fat-Grafting Risks:
Partial fat resorption; occasional need for touch-up
Minor lumps or cysts (rim calcifications) in rare cases
Fat necrosis managed conservatively
Standard surgical risks: bleeding, infection, anesthesia reactions
Rest assured, our team of seven board-certified plastic surgeons and ICU staff are on duty 24/7 for post-op monitoring and responsive care.
7. Artistic Considerations: Sculpting With Precision
The true artistry lies in how we shape your body:
Donor Zone Shaping Liposuction contours areas like tummy, love handles, and thighs for a sleek silhouette.
Breast Sculpting Using fine cannulas, the purified fat is layered with precision—building volume gradually for fullness and symmetry.
Natural Contours Attention to upper-pole fullness, cleavage definition, and smooth transitions ensures breasts that move naturally.
Body Harmony Treatments are designed to complement your height, shoulder width, ribcage, and waist—creating balanced, elegant proportions.
8. How Many cc’s of Fat Are Injection Typically?
Expect about 200–400 cc of fat per breast, depending on your goal and donor availability. Because some fat is absorbed, a small overfilling is normal. A second session can refine the result if desired.
9. Comparing Fat Grafting to Breast Implants
Here’s a clear comparison: FeatureFat GraftingBreast ImplantsFeel & TextureSoftest, entirely naturalDepending on implant type; may feel firmerVolume AchievabilityModest (A → C cup)Moderate to large (A → DD+ cup)ScarringTiny punctures, minimally visibleSlightly longer scars (fold, areola, or axilla)LongevityPermanent with stable weightImplants may need replacement by 10–15 yrsRisksMinor resorption, lumpsRupture, capsular contractureRecoveryQuicker, less discomfortLonger; muscle involvement increases painRevisionEasy to add fat laterReplacement, size changes possible
For those seeking a modest, natural boost with minimal invasiveness, fat grafting is a beautiful choice.
10. Fat Grafting With or Without Implants?
Some women desire more volume than fat grafting alone can provide. At Sushrutha Institute, we offer hybrid augmentation—small silicone implants enhanced with autologous fat. This method:
Achieves increased projection and fullness
Blends implants into a natural contour
Reduces visible edges, rippling, and capsular contracture
Maintains natural feeling and silhouette
Your surgeon will assess your goals and anatomy to determine if hybrid augmentation suits your needs.
11. Costs in Thrissur
Fat grafting breast augmentation is more affordable than full silicone implants, especially considering sedation plus liposuction.
Typical cost range: ₹2.5 to ₹4 lakh INR, based on treatment scale, anesthesia, and surgical time. Traditional implants may cost more due to implant pricing. Combined or revision procedures adjust accordingly.
We encourage you to schedule a consultation to receive a personalized quote that includes surgery fees, hospitalization, anesthesia, follow-ups, and garments.

Non‑breast procedures (facelift, eyelid lift)
Reconstructive Surgeries (post-mastectomy)—fat grafting can restore natural shape
Combining procedures offers full-body rejuvenation and one recovery window—ask your surgeon if it suits you.
14. Monitoring Results & Long-Term Care
Follow-Up Timeline:
1 Week: Remove dressings, assess swelling/bruising
1 Month: Evaluate volume retention and symmetry
3–4 Months: Final shape; possible minor touch-up
6–12 Months: Inspect long-term result and satisfaction
Long-Term Tips:
Maintain weight and healthy habits
Avoid smoking and high-steroid intake
Breast self-checks are essential; annual exams benign cysts possible
Routine imaging (USG, mammogram) is recommended independent of augmentation
15. Emotional & Lifestyle Considerations
Going through cosmetic surgery is not just physical—it touches emotions and identity. At Sushrutha Institute, we:
Assess your emotional readiness

Our team ensures you leave feeling empowered, well-informed, and respected.
10 FAQs on Fat Grafting Breast Augmentation in Thrissur
1. Is fat grafting painful?
Most patients report discomfort comparable to mild muscle soreness or bruise pain at donor and breast sites—managed effectively with pain medication and compression.
2. How long does each procedure take?
Surgery lasts 2 to 4 hours, depending on liposuction required and breast shaping details.
3. Will my donation areas look slimmer?
Absolutely—liposuction sculpts donor zones while fat in your breasts creates fullness. A beautiful dual result.

Yes, a significant portion (~60–80%) integrates permanently. Minor resorption is normal; results are stable long-term with healthy weight maintenance.
5. How much recovery time do I need?

8. Will I need more than one procedure?
A second touch-up is optional—planned when wanting slight fullness enhancement or asymmetry adjustment.
9. Can fat grafting go with implants?

Have you recently injured your ACL?
Here’s how physiotherapy can help
Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries are amongst the most common major injuries in sport with figures from the United States suggesting more than 200,000 ACL surgeries are performed each year. Multidirectional sports in which pivoting, landing and change of direction maneuvers are involved present the greatest risk and account for majority of the injuries. Following an ACL injury, the primary goal for athletes is to return to their sport, typically after ACL reconstruction surgery. To ensure maximum knee function is achieved, high-quality rehabilitation is imperative.
Whether you are at the beginning or end of your rehabilitation journey, we are here to help!
What is the ACL?
The ACL is one of four main ligaments of the knee which is responsible for stabilizing the knee joint.
Will I need surgery?
Contrary to typical belief, surgery is not always required for ACL injuries with growing research to support conservative rehabilitation. Choosing to go down a surgical route will likely depend on your future goals, particularly if these are sport related. Fortunately, our  physiotherapists can discuss this with you and provide you with all the details necessary to make an informed decision!
What does the rehab process involve?
Whether you choose surgical or conservative management, the immediate goal of rehab remains the same with emphasis on managing swelling/effusion, restoring full range of motion (ROM) and facilitating sufficient activation of the quadriceps muscles.
Following this initial phase, rehabilitation aims to progress strengthening of the muscles around the knee along with improving balance/proprioception and knee control. It is also important to strengthen all other muscle groups throughout the rehab process to ensure these maintain their strength and are not deconditioned during your recovery.
Most athletes can then return to straight line jogging after 12 weeks along with commencing plyometric exercises such as jumping and hopping. This is a guideline and can vary from person to person. As you progress with your rehab, agility and sport-specific exercises are introduced with emphasis on improving confidence and coordination.
The final stage involves high-level sport-specific strengthening and includes a progressive return to sport. This may include restricted training at first before progressing to full training and finally match play.
It is important to note, the rehabilitation journey is often lengthy, with most athletes returning to sport after 9-12 months.
Whether your goal is to return to sport or improve your day-to-day life, don’t let an ACL injury stop you from reaching your goals. Contact us today to schedule a consultation, get you started on your rehabilitation journey and support you every step of the way!
