I almost immediately knew what I wanted to do for Regulus' design: his magi outfit would be a prince / royalty, because that's definitely how he sees himself (despite the fact that he should be the absolute last person in charge of anything ever) and it's in reference to his 'little king' authority. His weapon is a fencing foil, because it’s not really meant to be a weapon and can’t really do any real damage to people; it’s only used for fencing. I think this fits him well because without his authority, he’d be completely powerless and would just be a regular dude, so I wanted his weapon to reflect that. He relies so much on his authority to fight, that he really wouldn’t use a weapon to fight for himself (he’d probably just point the foil around like a wand lol XD). His soul gem is shaped like a human heart and is on the left side of his body where the heart is because of course lol, his ‘lion’s heart’ authority (I’m so clever lol 😂 ).

The authority from a wish doc says that Regulus’ wish would be ‘to be free from the violation of rights from others’, which in his mind would be just about anything that stands in his way, so his power would manifest as a prevention of this via invincibility and his other abilities through ‘lion’s heart’ and transferring his ‘heart’ / weakness to others through ‘little king’.

ok so i was digging through my old tweets for a Freaky Conversation and i found my thread with headcanons for regulus old body issues. and since i translated it you might as well have it too. eat.

so you see i actually think regulus has the most fucked up problems with his own body in the world...... i like to think that regulus is a hypochondriac before the witch factor and you will have to tear this headcanon out of my cold dead hands. I just Know that he touches his hands finds some kind of creepy lump there and walks around thinking that he is Literally Dying for the next two weeks (me core) AND.

AND he has some kind of nasty disease that he doesn't treat because no one knows how and it costs a million gold coins so he's like guess I'll die AND he has a genetic predisposition to 1) go bald early and 2) get ill with a shitton of cancers and stuff so he's like jesus christ i need to die at thirty.AND his sex-repulsed asexuality fucks him over AND he wants to crawl out of his skin 25/8. so when he gets his time stop on his body he's like yes!! fuck!! and he goes full speed into dissociation from his body just fucking forgets that he has everything else attached to this piece of brain cells in his head and he goes nuts on this topic and has been like this for a hundred years straight.

and THEN. THEN. I would personally pay this fucking million gold coins for Regulus to be left alive just to hang around with his five-second limit and have fifty breakdowns a day because he forgot that he now needs to eat again.

It was rather exactly what she expected of him – “It’s not Sylphy…” – she added taking her hands away from him, ruffling his hair quickly. Almost in passing; her eyes now focused on what Regulus was previously looking. Oh! The girls volleyball team. She hummed: --

“So, is Sylphy your favourite now? The official girlfriend for some time?” – he was changing his love interests (or so she thought) faster than she was getting bored with her shoes (which was fast if someone asked)– “But I am sure she’s somewhere there ready with a fresh and delicious lunch for you.”

No, Nunnally wasn’t jealous. She and Corneas-kun would n e v e r work. He was handsome, easy-going, fun. And popular. Nunnally was his opposite. Yes, many considered her pretty, but she was neither fun nor relaxed. Stiff and entitled. That was what most thought about her. And although Nunnally could even admit this opinion wasn’t completely unjustified, she did nothing to change it.

She and Corneas-kun could at most become friends. Friends with benefits, though she still would prefer friends. At least he was only m i l d l y interested in her so they could have so much fun together.

“Oh! So it is lunch time together.” – she smiled – “Rooftop then!” – she took his arm; she wasn’t shy about it. She liked getting in “physical” contact with him. Being the object of common jealousy, and being safe she was not the one. Being on the rooftop was technically forbidden, but she knew they wouldn’t get in trouble. Even if they get caught (and she didn’t expect they would), no-one would tell her a word. After all her father was an important donor, and they wouldn’t like to cause (her) him any unnecessary burden.

Concerning the Witch Cult and the Seal in Elior Forest;

So I watched through the episodes where Pandora and Regulus show up in Elior Forest, and Emilia is frozen, and had some wonders

First, Petelguese, when he takes the Witch Factor, apologizes to "Flugel-sama". But why Flugel? Remember, Flugel wasn't actually considered anyone great, and was only known because he planted a big tree and carved "Flugel was here" on it

Then there's also the Seal that the elves protect. Fortuna says that if the Seal is unlocked, the world will definitely end this time. But, at this time, who actually can destroy the world? Even looking at the Seal's colors and decorations, they befit Satella, who TRIED to destroy the world and was partially successful.

The world will definitely end this time. There was a past attempt, and this was only ever done by Satella.

So I'm assuming the Seal is containing Satella. The key only appears to the one qualified to open it—and that's Emilia. The same identical half-elf that the Witch Cult believes is the perfect vessel for Satella; the vessel can open the door, and has the key, no one else. Methinks if Emilia opened the door, she might be possessed or become a martyr

Yeah, it's said that Satella was sealed beyond the Great Waterfall. BUT BUT BUT, REMEMBER, they consider beyond the Great Waterfall as THE SAME AS A PARALLEL WORLD. Yin magic can easily sever reality and space, and create a pocket dimension or open to a new reality, just by upgrading Shamak.

For example, remember Beatrice's Door Crossing? The Seal could easily just be the doorway to a pocket dimension like Shamak, and it would still be considered beyond the Great Waterfall.

What the Elves are guarding is the tomb of Satella. That's why the Witch Cult's docile faction helps out the Elves; the Witch Cult reveres Satella. The Elves hid Emilia from the Cult on purpose, but Petelguese found her anyway; and Petelguese sacrificed himself in an attempt to keep the Witch of Vainglory (Pandora) and the Archbishop of Greed (Regulus) away from Emilia. The docile faction definitely had a different goal from the radical faction, the latter which always chases Satella's vestiges.

Petelguese definitely knows something more about Flugel than "Yeah, he made a tree" because to the public knowledge of the Re:Zero world, Flugel is only a guy that grew a tree that happened to live long. It's only realized that Flugel is who the Sage Shaula actually refers to, by Subaru's party in the Pleiaides Watchtower; a place even the Sword Saint couldn't reach. As part of the Witch Cult, Petelguese probably knew a lot of the truth of Flugel and Satella, if he revered Flugel, knew the implications of an incompatible Witch Factor, and knew of the Seal.

Petelguese knows what happens if you take in an incompatible Witch Factor: some sort of insanity. Even Regulus warns him about knowing the price to pay, yet Petelguese still took the Witch Factor. Petelguese knows about Flugel, so he probably knows about the Witch of Envy VS Satella; whenever he refers to the Witch of Envy, he mainly says Satella. There might be parts where he says Witch of Envy, but he mainly says only Witch or Satella. Petelguese taking the incompatible Factor his own choice kind of parallels Satella's own incompability, that it brings the question: was Satella also forced to make a similar decision?

The Elves guard the Seal of the Witch of Envy. The Seal is technically beyond the Great Waterfall. Petelguese probably knew the truth, and Emilia's oddly the only person that can access the Seal's key; that's what I think.

Just to be clear, this isn't a question of if he would be a good podcast host. Given his propensity to answer basic questions with MLA-formated 5-paragraph length answers, and his general.... elevated opinion of himself, Regulus Corneas would be a great at hosting a podcast. (though whether or not the podcast is well received is a debate of it's own) This is a question of if Regulus would be able to cause more overall harm with his podcast than he would as a member of the witch cult.

Argument: As a witch cultist he's literally kidnapping and murdering people.

Counterargument: As a podcaster, people might actually listen to his toxic ideas about.... everything, and adopt them as their own beliefs, causing more overall harm to be done by proxy.
