February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month! Teen DV Month (sometimes called TDVAM) is a national effort to raise awareness about abuse in teen and 20-something relationships and promote programs that prevent it.
The theme for 2018 is: “Hands Unite: Do your Part.”
Loveisrespect wants to empower young people to build healthy relationships from the ground up. Your hands are a tool for creation, and they play a role in ending dating abuse. Your hands are made for loving and helping—not hurting the ones you love.
We invite you to heal, love and share the power your hands have to create meaningful relationships, raise awareness and educate others. Remember, everyone has a hand in ending dating violence!
We hope you’ll join the conversation! Learn more here!

We hope to keep the momentum going through the year to maintain a respectful and diverse school environment and look forward to the next year as we plan on doing more fundraising and awareness campaigns.

Mark your calendars for Respect Week! Feb 13-17
Tumblr media
Respect Week is a special way for young people to raise awareness about healthy relationships and dating abuse during Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (Teen DV Month) in February. We’re particularly excited this year because we’re also celebrating loveisrespect’s 10th anniversary! So, we thought we’d go back to the basics with our theme: Love is…respect.
We created a Respect Week guide to inspire students and youth leaders around the country to actively and creatively promote messages about dating violence and healthy relationships. We hope you’ll use it in your own community to raise awareness and educate others!
Download the guide here!

Day 2 of Respect Week
Another fantastic day!  We were very busy this break time selling fruit kebabs kindly donated by our local Tesco, as well as some stonewall t-shirts and rainbow laces. Lots of students came to us with questions and for leaflets too!
There was a great response to our photobooth where students and staff showed their support in some hilarious costumes!
Our new year 7s  have been very busy making bridges, respect signs, and rivers containing their life story with hopes and dreams above them on bridges!
The new year 12 had their first day of lessons today! I hope everyone was happy and had a wonderful day!
