Went to my first big convention last weekend and cosplayed for the first time ever as fem!Gale. :3 Got my picture taken with Samantha Béart as well! Pics under the cut.

Earring/rings/book/makeup done by me! Clothing just various pieces I’ve acquired that can double as wardrobe staples and my glasses chain is from @entity-treasury (Flesh inspired). :3

(I know the earring/tattoo is on the wrong side; I only have one ear pierced and decided to just reverse it)

It was AMAZING to meet @neilnewbon again, and I finally got to tell my story of WHERE I remembered him from and also meeting Samantha Béart as well she was also SUPER SWEET. I commissioned the lovely @gabrielamay.art to have signed by the both of them it was a long WAIT, but so WORTH IT

Neil also signed one of my own art pieces.

I also got my bestie sibling @scribble.core a special birthday video and print. Thank you so so so much @devorawilde you seemed to have BLAST WITH ft. The lovelies @jenniferjenglish and @_alionabaranova in the background 💖

This was an incredible experience, and I'm HURTIN, but it was amazing every second

Went to RetroGameCon over the weekend and cosplayed Isobel the whole time (still a work in progress but I’m just happy I finished enough to be recognizable) it was a great time, met the voice actors who were there and a whole bunch of other nice people.

So I was going through all my old privated tiktoks to see if there’s anything in there worth saving on the off chance the ban goes through and then I’m left unable to access my own content. Nothing really of note is in there. This was from one of my old cosplay videos before I updated my Lady Dimitrescu cosplay to the official dress. Before that, I just used a generic white dress and got some random accessories off of Amazon. It wasn’t the best cosplay, I’ll admit, but it was my first attempt cosplaying literally ever and I had fun doing it.

Anyway, I was scrolling through the comments of this video which were all nice until I got to the one at the bottom. It somehow slipped my radar back in 2021. I never got a notification for this comment and if I did, it must have been buried because I used to post the most random tiktoks all the time. I’m glad I didn’t see it then because it absolutely would have destroyed me. I was already in a fragile spot with my body image, but TikTok gave me a lot of confidence because no one ever said anything mean about my appearance. The only sort of haterish comments I got were specifically towards Alcina, making fun of the fact that I liked her or trying to argue how she couldn’t possibly be a lesbian. Now I see this comment and I just laugh. Like damn, imagine making a whole account to leave hate comments because you’re that miserable with your life. Not only that, but if my cosplay was “one of the worst” what standard are you even holding that to?

The one on the left was my first iteration of my Alcina cosplay from 2021. I really don’t think it’s that bad for something I had to throw together myself. The one on the right is my updated version right before I went off to retrogamecon to meet Maggie Robertson(yeah I know my sleeves weren’t fully down shhh) oh and the necklace that was advertised was NOT the one I got it was some random flower instead of the crest but passable enough from a distance.

The biggest difference is my weight. I was in a bigger body in 2021 and I was very insecure about it due to my ED history. A lot of people had major fluctuations during the lockdown era. If anything, my cosplay was slightly better before because I actually could make my tits pop out. Them bitches are gone now with all the weight I lost when I was really sick last year (I’ve gained some back but not all of it since my bigger body wasn’t my normal).

But yeah TL;DR some weird incel left me a hate comment 3 years ago that I never noticed that belongs in the “did you even try?” hall of fame because even with it just being a closet cosplay, it’s still close enough to the in game look. I imagine he’s never known the touch of a woman. Couldn’t be me. How sad.

New York is in for a treat! No sooner than Roger and Rob are done with RetroGameCon in Syracuse, they will be making their way to NYC just a few days later!

For a whopping 4 days. Roger and Rob will be attending the New York Comic Con in October!
