I absolutely adore Benjamin Byron Davis and Roger Clark's pronunciation of some of the characters' names in the RDR games.
It's literally just like:
Dutch: May I introduce my sons, Orthur and Jahn.
Arthur: Shoah, thanks Detch.
Hosea and John: *facepalm*
I'm from Oklahoma and it reminds me of so many people down here. (One of which may or may not be me.)
** Also the fact that they all pronounce Javier's last name with a hard "L" kills me. They are literally calling the man "Javier School" in Spanish. I'm sure it's deliberate on the devs' part because most Americans today can't be bothered to learn the pronunciation let alone those in 1899, but GAH!
Dude when I listen to Red Dead interviews and I hear Roger Clark I'm like "Aww he did a lil accent for Arthur". When Rob talks I'm like "That's literally just John Marston" and I don't think twice.
But for some reason when I hear Benjamin Byron Davis I'm like... THAT'S FUCKIN DUTCH. IT'S HIM!!
Also I just saw this YouTube video, this episode is from 2010 (RDR1 timeframe). Talk about a glow-up from then to now, holy shit.
Ben brings up some good points on why Dutch couldn't listen to Arthur and John but could allow Lenny or Sean to counter his arguments (which is something i've never consciously picked up on before but it makes so much sense when he explains it)
And listening to Curzon on Dutch and Hosea's friendship is heartwarming
yeah sure dutch van der linde is this hot maniac that got me head over heels over him even though hes fictional and not normal etc etc etc BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have you guys seen his voice actor? sir benjamin byron davis? that man is the definition THE DEFINITION of a perfect man in my opinion.
big, chunky, 50s, he's so charming and such a sweet guy with his fans but oh lord he's so beautiful and hot. (watched ant man 2 just for him 馃檶馃徎馃檶馃徎馃檶馃徎)
Please give the man more recognition 'cause he's so so so so so handsome.
I'm convinced Ian McShane's portrayal of Al Swearengen from Deadwood was the inspiration for Dutch Van der Linde's very distinctive style in RDR2. The resemblance is uncanny, in more than just looks.
I love how full of homages Red Dead is - I'm now hooked on Deadwood entirely because of spotting this resemblance in a clip from the show and deciding I had to know more about who Al S. was.
Thinking about rough sex with dutch and arthur makes the stress go away lmao which we would not have if it weren't for the sexy and talented roger clark and benjamin byron davis I'm going feral over bbd (BIG BIG DICK)'s lmao smolder and beard. Just good christ. Good fucking christ. It was literally dutch and Arthur's appearance in colter mere minutes into the game and I knew I was fucked. "I SHOAH FOUND US SOME SHELTUR" and I've never not been wet ever since
