So obviously you like poly, which is awesome. But if you had to break people up into single pairings, what would your favorites (or least favorites) be?

HMM INTERESTING. It's hard to actually rank pairings because I want different things from every ship! And talking about ships I don't like always feels negative and boring so instead I will just hand you an assortment of relationships that are fun or entertainingly dramatic to rotate in my mind.

((Dutch/Tennie gets special kudos for being a canon ship that I genuinely love, haha. In an over-the-top zoom zoom smash action show, seeing a relationship based on mutual respect and shared interests was unexpected and a very nice feeling! I love them. A+++ artistic/engineering power couple, five stars, would have soft emotions about again.))

Dissonance Productions has announced the North American release of “Total Terror“, a box set of varied content from underground oldschool progressive thrash band Holy Terror. The band originally released two iconic cult records – Terror And Submission and Mind Wars – back in the 80’s.

Recently released in Europe, Total Terror will be available to North American fans on February 9th. The multi-disc set contains all of the band’s official recordings — Terror And Submission (1987), Mind Wars (1988), El Revengo (2006), the live album Live Terror – Live In Dendermonde — plus a rare DVD featuring various performances, the band’s official video for “Judas Reward“, and other outtakes.

And then presumably he told Red to defect, and Red was like “well what about you??!  and Mike just had to kind of shrug and shake his head because holy shit that’s a lot of history he wouldn’t want to get into with some kid whose whole worldview is falling apart right now.

Awhile back I saw your fusion of Red and Mike. What are your thoughts about that fusion? Doesn’t seem like a fun time for anyone involved.

Oof, lemme throw my brain back to three years ago, hmm...... :D I think I covered most of the important details about the Red+Mike fusion in the post itself, but generally-speaking I’m assuming it would be like...essentially Malachite.  Red keeping Mike there because it hurts him to be part of a fusion with someone who hates him so much, and Mike staying because if they’re fused at least Red can’t hurt anybody else.  Which is why his hands are permanently cuffed and probably....fused together at the wrists?  :Ic nasty.

If I were to write the scene, probably Red and Mike were grappling and the other Burners showed up, and Mike’s reaction of No he doesn’t get to hurt my friends combined with Red’s DAMMIT they’re going to outnumber me and he’ll get away AGAIN combined into.......this unfortunate son of a bitch. @u@  

Not sure what to call him, though.  Very tempted to call him “V” (geddit, like V for Vendetta...because Red’s intro episode was called “Vendetta”.......  I’ll see myself out).  Lord knows all the one-syllable names in this show don’t combine very well lol.  Rike?  Med.  Mike-But-He-Hates-Himself.

Mike's seen a thousand species but never one so alien as a human so consumed by a single thing. Nobody can be just one thing.

on that empty planet with grey dust skudding over craters rimmed red by the setting sun, the silhouette of a man who reforged himself to be every inch a concept rather than a living being is sharp, dangerous and almost divine. It's enthralling. Captivating.

Oh gosh. I just realized, from how I read (watched?)things, Red is supposed to be younger than Mike. Or at least I think that fits the kind of impulsive blaming the first person you see instead of thinking about who was really responsible. Which just makes me wonder if we were ever going to see red without his mask and if it would have been like a “he’s just a kid” moment

Huh!  I didn’t read it that way when I watched Vendetta, although I can definitely see it as an interpretation. :Oc  That would be super interesting!  There’s so little Red content in the show, despite him being a pretty major antagonist with a REALLY personal line straight to Mike’s betrayal-related trauma backstory--we know next to nothing about him, and his motivations don’t quite seem to make sense...  

The theories and headcanons to come out of that disconnect of importance vs available information, and from people trying to reconcile His Whole Deal witht he things he actually does....it’s all completely fascinating to me.  Red’s a really fun blank slate antagonist lol.
