Nala: (Bumbleby daughter) Two moms, remember? It was a ton of work…

Jamie: Like what?

Nala: *ticking off on her fingers* There was riding in a sidecar on my mom’s motorcycle, sushi for lunch, visiting an antique bookstore, getting my butt kicked at the arcade by my mom, sushi for dinner, and then…

Jamie: Let me guess. Your parents gave you money to go to the movies so they can do the F O R B I D D E N at home?

Nala: EWWW!!! 😫 I was trying not to think about it!

Jamie: Sorry…if it makes you feel any better I’m pretty sure that’s what my parents did too.

Jamie: Wanna split a big popcorn and drown out the mental images by watching giant monsters fight in 3D?

Nala: *slumps* …yes, please…😞

Text around drawings: Leader of a team of rubies. At some point, stranded her team on a meteor on accident. Her team does not like her as a leader, and as tensions rise on the meteor, she's driven to kill them all. She was made leader for her skill in combat and drive to win. She, unusually, found ways to use shapeshifting in combat. After shattering her oldest friend first, a ruby that really hated her cut her right arm off and poofed her.

Scratches at gem a lot. Sometimes shapeshifts to reach it.

It was cracked by a ruby on her team that tried to kill her while her guard was down.

Harms herself to build up her toughness and to avoid feeling under stimulated. She harms herself by scratching, hitting, and cutting herself with her knife.

Hits and scratches at her right arm most, especially when she loses control of its form.

Changed her hair both to reject her fellow rubies and her role as a ruby guard.

Wants to live away from the empire and be strong enough to survive anything. While on the meteor she tried and failed to convince each ruby to desert Homeworld with her.

Has been stranded alone on her meteor for centuries. Has found ways to manage the symptoms of her cracked gem, a big part of that involving shapeshifting.

Sometimes when she has episodes she loses control of her right arm below the line it was severed when she was poofed. It can distort in all kinds of ways, sometimes even disappearing wholesale.

Wears black bands on her shoes to set herself apart as leader.

Is a little overcooked. She is sensitive and insecure about it, seeing it as a weakness.

Feels abandoned and betrayed by her team and holds a lot of complicated and unresolved feelings about all of them. The crack in her gem worsens her episodes, sometimes causing her to lose touch with reality and hallucinate members of her team. She feels haunted by them.

Trains her shapeshifting to be used in all kinds of ways with much skill, power, and control.

Take a Moment to Think of Us…

Bright Red Ruby was in the Ruby Guard at the Era 3 Ball when she saw Garnet fuse in front of everyone. Ever since then she’s been on the hunt for her own Sapphire true love. It took a long time of badgering different Sapphires and being rejected before finally meeting Plum Sapphire, who not only refused to fuse with the Ruby, but asked her why exactly she wanted this so bad. BRR had never really thought that hard about it before, and had a moment of crisis. Seeing this, Plum Sapphire softened a little, and admitted she herself was curious about fusion, but asked if the two could be friends while BRR figured out what fusion would mean to her. The two hung out for a long time, growing closer and learning about each other. They found permafusions to ask about their experiences, and after collecting enough data, the two picked a romantic hillside on an alien world, and had their first official date. Plum Sapphires finally asked BRR to fuse, and she responded, “Only if you’re sure you want to. If you do, it’d be my honor.” Plum Sapphire smiled, said an emphatic “Yes!!”, and kissed her, and the two fused for the first time, forming Magenta Garnet. Since then, the two spend half their time unfused, and half of their time fused, because they love each other as much as they love being Magenta Garnet.

Ruby and Rose Quartz are soldiers who escaped Earth during the war and fled from the gem empire.

Lapis (Ghost) Lazuli is one of the last Era 2 gems ever made. If Era 3 didn't come around when it did, she would have ended up getting shattered and recycled.
